Det råder statlig och politisk enighet om att barn och ungas läsfärdighet har försämrats vilketär alarmerande. Att skapa gynnsamma lärmiljöer kring böcker ses enligt forskning sombetydande för barns intresse och utveckling inom detta område. Barns förhållande till böckersamt läsning grundläggs tidigt och den uppfattning barn erhåller rörande böcker följer barnenupp i åldrarna. Det är därför av vikt att barn har tillgång till böcker, får möta böcker imeningsfulla sammanhang samt möjlighet till samspel i användandet av dem. Både densociala och fysiska miljön har betydelse för barns möten med böcker.

Ett par år in på 2000-talet präglas företagen av större marknader, globalisering och ökat fokus på IT. Mycket pengar går åt till resor världen över när man öppnar kontor, besöker fabriker eller utökar sina marknader. Man arbetar i globala team och utnyttjar kunskaper och erfarenheter som andra kulturer har. När lågkonjunkturen kommer får man tänka om, och man drar ner på både personal och resor. Hur fungerar det när man måste fortsätta sitt arbete men inte får resa som man gjort förut? Går det att fortsätta i vanlig ordning? Vad händer när man nu inte kan träffa sina kollegor, mötas och interagera som man brukade göra?Enligt Nationalencyklopedin har vi en inre drivkraft att kommunicera, att göra oss förstådda och att interagera med andra människor.

SUMMARYThere was no previous study in what high level dressage riders had for ideas of how to best prepare for their training sessions with an instructor. Neither any study of how high level dressage riders seemed to be more or less susceptible to the instructions from their instructor during their training sessions. If the sport had more knowledge about this, it might result in more riders on a higher level. The purpose of this study was to find out how high level dressage riders are preparing themselves for the best result for an instructor led training session and how they could bring as much as possible instructions from the coach. The two questions of the study were: How are high level dressage riders preparing themselves for a training session with an instructor, practically and mentally, and how can they affect their susceptibility to instructions?The study was carried out both by reviewing existing literature and studies in general education and pedagogy in the riding education, and by a qualitative interview study of six dressage riders who rode on a difficult level at the competitions, during the year of 2009.

The majority of all collie owners in Sweden are satisfied with their dog and choice of breed and may well consider having another one. This was found in a survey that collie owners who owned a collie between the years 1999-2009 had the opportunity to fill in from May to December 2010. In the questionnaire there were three questions included where the owners could answer whether they were satisfied or not with their dog. These questions were: * Do you think the temperament of your dog is well suited for your way of life and the goal you have with your dog? * Would you be willing to get another dog in the future? * If you were to get another dog, would you consider a rough collie? When the answer to these three questions were compared with the dogs behavior, as described in the other questions in the survey, it seemed that it was mainly the fearfulness of the dog that differed between owners who were satisfied with their dogs and those who were not.

The thesis concerns the use of classification schemes for organising resources in subject-based hierarchical search-services on the web. The aim is to investigate the different kinds of classification that are used, which fall into two groups: established respectively new classification schemes. This is attained by studying literature and the websites of each search-service. The prospects for using classification in a web-environment are discussed and divided into three major groups: browsing, control and cross-classification. One question at issue concerns how an established scheme manages to organise web-resources and whether this classification differs from the classification of new schemes and in what way.

The global wood pellet market has seen a rapid growth after the adoption of the Kyoto protocol and the renewable energy incentives created within the European Union. The global consumption of wood pellets reached 13,5 million tonnes in 2010 and several experts estimate the consumption to be between 35-50 million tonnes by 2020. These forescasts raise the questions which regions that can supply this vast amount of wood pellets and what the conditions are for producing it. This study evaluates the conditions for wood pellet production and export from British Columbia, on Canada?s west coast, focusing on existing industry structure, raw material supply and the distribution chain.

Denna uppsats handlar om visual merchandising online med fokus på företag som säljer sportkläder. Studien har genomförts ur ett konsumentperspektiv. Vår undersökning syftar till att studera produktsidor för sportkläder för att se hur konsumenter uppfattar den produktinformation, både visuell och verbal, som produktsidorna innehåller. Därigenom ska en kartläggning kunna göras av vilka element som är av vikt för respondenterna samt hur dessa bör utformas. Visual merchandising kan förklaras som den strategiska presentationen av ett företag och deras produkt, eller produkter, vars funktion är att attrahera kunder och underlätta inköpsprocessen.

IntroductionTactile Massage is a generic term that for example includes Massage therapy, Effleurage, Gentle touch, Tactile stimulation, Soft massage and Aromatherapy massage (SBU 2009). Tactile Massage has been proven to activate the perception receptors of the body and stimulates the system of oxytocin and in that way Tactile massage increase wellbeing and decrease pain. The Church of Sweden was formally separated from the state in the year of 2000 and by this means created greater freedom in facilitating its own social and Deaconal programs in separate parishes. Since 2004 a few numbers of deacons have been integrating Tactile massage as a method in Deaconal  ministry within the framework of holistic care in the Church of Sweden.Aim/Research questionsThe aim: From a holistic perspective investigate the use of and to increase the problem-awareness of Tactile massage in the Deaconal ministry within the Church of Sweden.The research questions: How is Tactile massage being used and how are we to describe the experiences of Tactile massage in the Deaconal ministry? Hästars och människors har olika sätt att kommunicera. Hästen är mycket känslig för icke-verbal kommunikation medan människan gärna uttrycker sig verbalt. Människan måste därför lära sig att kommunicera på hästens vis, men vid stor prestationsängslan är det svårare att kontrollera kroppen. Detta kan orsaka problem i kommunikation mellan häst och ryttare. Prestationsängslan är ett fenomen som tidigare undersökts mycket inom andra idrotter och även lite inom utländsk ridsport, men det har aldrig tidigare gjorts en studie inom svensk ridsport.

Jag är yrkeslärare inom gymnasieskolans naturbruksprogram och har valt detta yrke av en anledning. Jag ville få möjlighet att påverka och motivera unga till att vilja lära. För mig är det viktigt att använda undervisningsmetoder som fångar elevernas intresse. För en tid sedan valde jag att lämna gymnasieskolan för att söka nya utmaningar. Utmaningar som består av att utveckla kunskaper hos personer med AST (autismspektrumtillstånd).

The mouse (Mus musculus) is the most commonly used mammal in biomedical research and can easily be restrained by both hand and by a device. Restraining animals causes stress that not only decreases the animal?s wellbeing, but may also influence the research results. The first aim of this study was to train mice to voluntarily stand still using positive reinforcement training. Another benefit of teaching a mouse to stand still is that you can avoid anaesthesia for some procedures.

Det är av stor vikt vid järnvägsbyggande att kunna identifiera var risker kan uppstå och vilka konsekvenser dessa kan medföra på miljön. För att kunna hantera detta på ett bra sätt behövs ett systematiskt sätt att analysera riskerna, en så kallad riskanalys. Riskanalys handlar om att använda tillgänglig information för att beskriva och beräkna risker förknippade med ett givet system, vilket sedan ger ett underlag för värdering av risker och eventuella riskreducerande åtgärder. Riskanalysen utgör en del i riskhanteringsprocessen, vilken omfattar definition av mål och avgränsningar, riskidentifiering, bedömning av sannolikhet och konsekvens, värdering av risker, genomförande av riskreducerande åtgärder samt uppföljning och erfarenhetsåterföring. Under 2004 slog Banverket fast att det krävs en ny järnväg i Kiruna för att uppfylla de transportpolitiska målen samt de nationella miljökvalitetsmålen.
