Abstract ? What is an exhibition hall? ? How do you create tension between art and nature? ? Why should an exhibition hall be situated in the country side; would that add to the experience? ? What are the conditions of exhibiting contemporary art? These are some of the questions I first asked myself when I came to work with this project on an exhibition hall outside Kivik, Österlen. These questions brought me to new places, meetings and ideas. The team working actively to realize this project, calls it ?Art by the Sea?. The team has been working with the project since 2001 .

This master thesis is an attempt to study the interface in itself, where the human meets the machine and the problems that can arise. I study a particular interface, namely the OPAC of Libra III. In 1999 IFLA presented recommendations for what an OPAC shall contain, and in one part of my master thesis I compare Libra III with these recommendations from my opinion. In another part of my master thesis I make an investigation where I let five by me chosen persons answer some questions from me, both by doing and verbally. I draw the conclusion that Libra III follows most of the recommendations of IFLA in a sufficient way.

Ulla Isaksson (1916 ? 2000) wrote many novels, often with a woman or several women as protagonists. In Dit du icke vill (?Where Thou Willst Not?) from 1956 she depicts a crisis of faith in a woman, which would not have been successful had she chosen a contemporary setting. She uses an adequate historical framework, the prosecution of witches in Sweden in the 17th century, well documented in reliable sources.

This thesis has the overall objective to develop the optimum sealing system between the retarder and transmission. Today, there is a pressure-relief and two radial seals separation between the retarder and transmission. It has been found that carbon residue formation may occur between retarder axle and seal lips with, in some cases, leakage as a result.We have in this thesis tried to explain the phenomenon of carbon residue, how it is formed and why it can be seen just on the seals? A rig test was conducted where we show how friction, speed, transmission temperature and mitigation phases of the retarder affects temperatures in the sealing environment. Factors affecting the coke structure are reported, together with proposals for measures that provide a mitigating seal environment.

I läroplanskommitténs betänkande rörande den nya läroplanen 1994 så skrevs det mycket om lärarens roll som förmedlare av värdegrunden till eleverna, vad det var som läraren skulle förmedla och i viss mån hur det skulle ske. Värdegrundsarbetet skulle ske tematiskt genom skolgången i alla ämnen och inte endast förekomma i ett eget ämne eller i religionskunskapen, som dock behöll en viss särställning rörande arbetet med etik. För att kunna förmedla de önskade värderingarna till eleverna så skulle läraren använda sig av ?den etik som förvaltats av kristen tradition och västerländsk humanism?. Betänkandet behandlar inte vad som menas med detta uttryck, men bifogar en bilaga skriven av Anders Piltz där han försöker att motivera ordavalet och vad kristen tradition innebär.När man jämför den moderna forskningen rörande värdegrundsarbetet i skolan med betänkandet och dess målsättning kan man se att samma värderingar premieras, men att demokratiaspekten har fått en mycket större roll än vad som kanske var meningen, något som kan bero på att demokrati är något som kräver mer tid att lära ut än andra värderingar som är mer naturliga, som tillexempel respekt för andra individers autonomi.

The aim of this thesis is to model my artistic practice on an adaptation of Joseph Campbells monomyth and, using this model, investigate challenges of performativity in art (in public spaces). The overall themes are personal, aesthetic and ethical sovereignty and an uncompromising search for a deepening of the artistic practice. More than anything else it is a map and a story of an artist?s expansion out into an artistic field that is little developed in Sweden. It is my hope that this thesis, by using a thoroughly subjective tone, will contribute to the milieu of performative arts in Sweden as well as widen the ?how? regarding the making of a written thesis..

LRF Konsult AB is a Swedish company with over 135 offices. During the time 2006-01-01 to 2008-06-16, 397 persons were recruited. New people will continue to be employed and because of that a need for consistant information for the recruits has been noted. The aim of this thesis is to assess the strategic importance of Central Asia as a whole and interests of great powers in the region in particular within the theoretical framework chosen. The work shows Central Asia as an area of the New Great Game, analogue of the original Great Game which was played out between the British Empire and Tsarist Russia in XIX century. The parallels between the original Great Game and the New Great Game are drawn in order to understand the scope and the true intentions of the players of the latter one. Also, the security issues in the contemporary Central Asia are explored and analyzed to provide with the background for future predictions. Furthermore, the indirect purpose of the thesis is to examine whether the international system has changed from that of two centuries ago by comparing the structure of the international systems at the time of two Games.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka några svensklärares inställning till populärlitteratur, både generellt sett och i undervisningen. Uppsatsförfattarna strävar efter att belysa inställningen till aktuella populärlitterära böcker som läses av ungdomar. Hur förhåller sig lärarna till denna typ av litteratur? Är det något de använder i sin undervisning? Den teoretiska bakgrunden för uppsatsen utgörs av forskning om föreställningar om hög och låg litteratur men också en problematisering av själva begreppet populärlitteratur. Andra aspekter som tas upp är vad som skrivs om litteratur-undervisning i skolans styrdokument samt hur populärlitteraturen har behandlats traditionellt sett inom skolan. Metoden för undersökningen är kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer som genomförs med fem verksamma lärare.

Den här uppsatsen skrevs för att belysa de hinder som kan uppstå när man som musiker tar sig an nutida musik, i detta fall japansk sådan. Den inriktning som arbetet tagit är hur man genom att förändra notbilden kan komma närmare musikens kärna, samt göra instuderingen så effektiv som möjligt under en relativt kort tid. För att nå de resultat jag gjort har jag använt mig av två informanter som arbetat med två stycken för solo flöjt av Kazuo Fukushima (1930), Mei (1962) och Shun?San (1969). Fallstudiens genomförande har tagit tre veckor där informanterna som är studenter har fått studera in båda verken och därefter notera om det ena av dem (Mei) för att se om de med denna metod kom närmare kärnan i musiken och kompositörens intention.

This master?s thesis discusses the term physical theatre from a discourse point of view. It also focuses on aspects of power from a field theory perspective. The main theory used is Pierre Bourdieu?s field theory, and I try to apply this onto critical discourse analysis, mainly taken from Michel Foucault.

Landscape urbanism has for the last decade been a topic for debate among practitioners and theorists involved in forming the contemporary city. The advocates for landscape urbanism mean that traditional dichotomies like city and country are invalid to illustrate the contemporary urban realm. Rather, a new urban morphology has evolved, which calls for new methods and models when approaching the city. Landscape urbanism suggests a revaluation of landscape in order to develop these approaches. This paper sets out to map how this is addressed within landscape urbanism.

I Sverige finns det idag familjer som har arrangerade äktenskap som en del av sitt traditionella kulturmönster. Några familjer lever enligt denna tradition medan andra tar avstånd från den. Men oavsett hur familjen förhåller sig till traditionen har den en påverkan i familjemedlemmarnas liv och deras inbördes relationer. Studiens målgrupp är flickor som växer upp i sådana familjer. Undersökningens syfte är att belysa dessa flickors syn på arrangerade äktenskap och möjligen få några förklaringar till varför vissa familjer fortsätter att leva enligt detta traditionella kulturmönster även efter exilen i Sverige.

A strong brand can help a company to be easier to recognize and be remembered by their customers. Part of branding is to create a visual appearance which is called a graphic profile and contains information on for instance a logo, colours or typography.The objective of this thesis was to create a graphic profile for Stjørdal Tannhelsesenter that could serve as a base for a brand work in the future. It was important to analyze how the clinic wants to be perceived and how it is perceived today. The methods used to carry out this study were questionnaires, researches and a focus group.The work resulted in the generation of a graphic profile that included a new logo, colours, decorative elements, fonts, templates for stationery, business card / badge, imagery, and examples of some publications.According to the test which was made to examine the results of the project showed that I was successful and that the new design meets all the requests from the previous questionnaires..
