Syfte, hypoteser och frågeställning:Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur kostsammansättning påverkar prestation, upplevelse och fysiologiska parametrar hos unga män, i samband med högintensiv fysisk aktivitet. H1 Fysisk prestation, här definierat som total producerad energi under testtiden (J),maximal kraftutveckling (W) samt ett medelvärde på kraftutveckling (W), på högintensitet är lägre efter intag enligt LCHF-kost jämfört med SNR.H2 Upplevd ansträngning under fysisk prestation skattas högre vid LCHF-kost jämfört medSNR.H3 RER (Respiratory Exchange Ratio) är lägre vid LCHF-kost jämfört med SNR.H4 Laktatnivån i blodet är lägre vid LCHF-kost jämfört med SNR.F Hur påverkas sinnesstämningen av en kosthållning enligt LCHF jämför med SNR?Metod:En experimentell crossover-studie utfördes på nio friska, träningsvana män i åldern 22-25 år. Samtliga deltagare genomgick en kostintervention under två femdagars-perioder på kosthållning enligt LCHF och Svenska Näringsrekommendationer (SNR), separerade med en nio dagars washout-period. Efter respektive kostperiod utfördes tester bestående av RER- mätning på ergometercykel samt upprepade Wingate-test (2 st) då de fick skatta upplevd ansträngning enligt CR100-skalan. I samband med testerna mättes även vikt, fettprocent och laktatvärden.

The paper, with a brief summary of timber floating in Sweden and also of some previous re-search in this field, contains a study on costs for timber-floating in the river Dalälven located in central Sweden. The public used timber-floating system in Dalälven and the historical background about this activity is described. The study is focused on the total costs for timber-floating in the public open floating system in Dalälven from 1900 to 1970, the year before the timber-floating was definitively closed down. Also the costs for separating the logs of a specific owner when they reached the point where they could be separated from the timber of other owners are analyzed..

In this report a new gear concept is evaluated using the magnetic finite element method (FEM)software MagNet and Ansys as well as the mechanical FEM software Abaqus. The gear conceptis evaluated in terms of maximum torque capability, torsional stiffness, gear ratio and efficiency.ABB Corporate Research has proposed a new gear concept which should be less expensive thangearboxes used today. The new concept is called aMagnetic Harmonic Traction Drive and usesthe principles of a harmonic drive gear to achieve a high reduction ratio. The gear conceptreplaces the wave generator used in traditional harmonic drives with magnets and uses tractioninstead of gear teeth to transfer the torque. The main components in the gearbox are the magnets,the flexspline, the magnetic portion and the circular spline.

The mining industry, in terms of ore excavation and metal production, is and has been important to the Swedish economy. In connection with the ore excavation process, large amounts of partly sulphidic waste are produced. When the metal sulphides are exposed to air and water they are eventually oxidised, which leads to the formation of acidic water with high concentrations of metal cations and sulphate ions, so called Acid Mine Drainage (AMD). This water may reach the nearest surroundings and cause negative environmental effects. By covering the waste with soil or water, the oxidation process can be minimised. At the Rävlidmyran mine in the county of Västerbotten open pit mining took place between 1951 and 1991.

Summary Today energy prices are rising. As a result biomass fuel is getting more and more interesting. Wood chips is very popular, but also straw from grain production is on the table. Lunds Energi AB project a combined power and heating plant in Örtofta out of Lund. Wood chips is meant to be the main energy source, complemented by straw. In this thesis the transportation of straw for fuel is studied.

During the 1970?s the interest for quality management and the concept of quality costs increased considerably. Business leaders noticed that there was a great potential for reducing costs of poor quality. Since up to 10-30% of a company?s total turnover may consist of poor quality costs some consider them as an unexploited goldmine.

The demand of nature tourism is increasing and new ways to satisfy tourists are necessary.The goal with this report was to answer that demand by exploring the possibilities for backcountry skiing north of Torneträsk. This area was chosen because it is unexplored. This hasbeen succeeded by an extensive fieldwork. Aspects like topography, routes, slope angles andgeological places of interests where recorded. The results has shown that back country skiingis well suited for this area and poses no negative impact on the natural habitat.

Couch grass (Elymus repens (L.) Gould) is a severe weed in Sweden, and since both the use of herbicides and cultivation should be decreased, it will become increasingly problematic to control couch. The present work is meant to, by literature studies and an experiment, give some answers to the question if cutting and competition can depress the growth of couch. The experiment was carried out in the growing season 2001 at Ultuna, Uppsala, in plastic boxes. The design was three-factorial randomised complete blocks. The factors were plant combination, nitrogen level and cutting strategy.

Bristen på högvärdigt gödsel är i många låg- och medelinkomstländer betydande då mineralgödsel är kostsamt och svårt att transportera. Material att tillverka biogödsel av finns det dock gott om i form av mat- och trädgårdsavfall samt animaliskt och mänskligt avfall. Dessa material är rika på essentiella växtnäringsämnen som kväve och fosfor. Utmaningen vid användning av dessa material är att de ofta innehåller höga halter av smittförande mikroorganismer vilka är skadliga för både människor och djur. Ska dessa material användas som biogödsel är det viktigt att de patogena mikroorganismerna inaktiverats så att smittor inte sprids i miljön och till livsmedel.Denna studie jämförde tre maskkomposter med tre mesofila komposter med avseende på inaktivering av mikroorganismer samt produktion av ett högvärdigt biogödsel som slutprodukt.

Sweden had in the early 1930's the lowest birth rate in the world. Population Commission which was established in 1935 concluded that one of the biggest social problems was the working women?s heavy workload. To deal with the low birth rate reforms and programs were founded both in order to help the women but also in order to support the inadequate motherhood. Government grants were set up to start the so-called vacation home for housewives where the government?s visions of the vacation homes were active rest and recreation.     Based on the Leisure Inquiry report regarding vacation homes for housewives - the purpose of this paper is to examine how the government visions regarding vacation homes for housewives were practiced and how the future of prevailing gender contract affected the holiday home.

Immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) is an immune-mediated destruction of erythrocytes and is one of the most common haematological diseases diagnosed in dogs. The haemolysis is a type II immunoreaction and is initiated by IgG or IgM antibodies or complements. This retrospective study includes 63 dogs suffering from primary IMHA. The study was based on information from records from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences in Uppsala and from the Animal Hospital in Strömsholm. The aim of the study was to evaluate the progress of the disease, treatment and the prognostic factors in different breeds, gender and age. Following criteria were used for the dogs to be allowed in the study: the dogs were diagnosed with anaemia, the anaemia was regenerative and autoagglutination and/or spherocytes were seen in the blood. About 50 % of the dogs in the study were diagnosed with IMHA within 2-6 years of age. Wire-haired dachshund was remarkably one of the most common breeds in this study together with Cocker and Springer spaniel.

District heating covers around 80 % of the heating demand in apartment buildings and 10 % in single-family homes in Sweden. In the year 2010 the total input of energy to the Swedish district heating grids was about 70 TWh, which corresponds to 11 % of the total energy input to the whole energy system in the country. Through the combined production of heat and power the CHP-plants often reaches an efficiency of 90 % from energy in the fuel to produced heat and power. In order to keep the efficiency high it is important for the owners of the plant to have good knowledge about the plants performance at different operation points. Strängnäs Energi AB initiated this diploma work together with FVB Sverige ab in order to come up with a program for short term planning of the production of heat and power at the company´s CHP-plant.The work consists of three main parts.

Flertalet artiklar har tagit upp ämnet, där man har ifrågasatt olika företags utdelning utav enorma rörliga ersättningar trots den svåra tid vi nu befinner oss i. Företagen motiverar olika andledningar till varför de väljer att betala ut bonusar till sina vd:ar, som grundar sig på olika typer av variabler.Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka vilken typ av variabler som visar starkast korrelation med storleken på företagsledarnas bonusar, och att se om dessa kan tänkas påverka deras risktagande.Metod: Uppsatsen bygger på en kvantitativ undersökning av sekundärdata som har inhämtats från de utvalda företagens årsredovisningar. Undersökningen tar en deduktiv ansats, där de valda teorierna appliceras på de resultat som undersökningen visar.Resultat: De fem företagen som betalar ut högst total ersättning är ABB, Ericsson, AstraZeneca, Getinge och Scania.

A comparative thesis to study precious metals impact on a portfolio, during a long period of time, from the fourth quarter of 1986 to the third quarter of 2012. Five different portfolios are compared; three of the portfolios containing one of the following precious metals, gold, silver and platinum, the fourth portfolio contain all precious metals and shares, and the fifth portfolio containing only shares which is represented of OMXS30. This is done to determine the portfolio that generates the most return in relation to the least risk with the help of historical prices. Sharpe ratio is used to measure the profitability of precious metals by measuring the yield relative to the total risk. The study also measures precious metals correlation with shares..
