In the informational age of today, continuous learning is of greatest importance. The demand for this seems to be increasing, while at the same time people are under more pressure to carry out more tasks in shorter amounts of time. A way to solve the problem of finding time to learn could be to make use of the possibilities that Internet offers for learning at a distance. The purpose of this thesis is to, from a pedagogical perspective, contribute to the discussion concerning Internet based distance education for a target population consisting of professionals. We have found that some of the courses included in the two certification programs which we have investigated are suitable for Internet based distance education.

The following thesis is examining compliance with EU-law from a member state perspective. The variation in the compliance level between the member states from 1995 to 2005 is analyzed to prove the fact that the Nordic member countries during the measured time period experienced a low number of infringements. The infringements that did occur were resolved faster and more efficient in the Nordic countries then in the other member states. The theory used to explain the Nordic compliance rate is divided between external and internal pressure in a pull and push model. The external pressure is illustrated with argumentative persuasion from the EU-commission to the individual member states; how the state responds to the persuasion in order to act compliant.

Quadrotor UAVs are self-stabilizing, autonomous flying machines that has recently become more popular than ever. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles have their roots in the military, where they were developed for use in reconnaissance and combat. During the last few years, advances in the fields of electronic sensors, electric motors and microcontrollers have enabled smaller designs and autonomic flight control even for private use. The quadrotor, which is the particular kind of UAV we are looking closer at in this paper, has 4 rotors in an X-like formation. This configuration has many advantages such as good lift capacity, non-complex mechanical structure and serviceability.In this project we aquired a current overview of the domain and determine whether it is possible to construct a quadrotor UAV designed for use in a WISENET sensor network on a low budget and short time schedule.Based on existing community project AeroQuad, a quadrotor is constructed with a budget of about 500 euro.

Today dairy farmers in Sweden are obligated to have lights turned on during night time in addition to the mandatory daylight inlet. This presents a cost for the production but many argue that it can be economically beneficial, especially in loose housing of dairy cows. In loose housing and even more so in herds with automatic milking, well functioning cow traffic during all hours of the day is crucial to optimise production. In order to keep the cow traffic flowing, lights may be an important management tool. It is also perceived among farmers with tied up stall that night light decreases the incidents of cows accidental stepping on their own or neighbours udders.

The Rya power plant in Borås produces district heating, district cooling and electricity. The plant is owned by Borås Energi och Miljö AB and is run by Dalkia Facility Management AB.In order to get the best heat exchange from the district hot water a pair of twin pumps and a turbine circuit pump are used as return pumps. Turbine circuit pumps are used to increase the pressure through the heat exchangers at the power plant. The pumps are in use when the flow is over 2 000 m3 h-1 and during the summer when re-cooling is used to improve the effectivens of the heat boilers.Since the pumps, that are parallel connected, rotating at a fixed rate per minute, the pressure is regulated with regulating valves. This report shows that during the 4,300 hours that the pumps where in use, energy corresponding to 590 MWh was wasted.

By our employer Camatec Industriteknik AB have we been given the assignment to continue with the previous work ?Design of strip feeder?. Our goal with this work is to come up with a design basis for a strip feeder.Functionally a strip feeder consists of two rollers which with the aid of the friction between the strip and the coating on the roller create a strip force that pulls the strip through the working progress.Demands on this project:? 10 ? 600 mm in strip width and 0,1-1 mm in strip thickness.? Minimum 30m/min in production speed.? A maximum strip force on 30-40 kN.? The cost of the strip feeder?s components is to be considered of economy and quality.The need of a strip feeder occurs when the coil doesn?t manage to feed or pull the strip before or after a working process. The strip can otherwise be exposed by a permanent yield deformation or a change in the strip material if it?s pulled trough the working process only by the on ? and of-coils.

Bakgrund:    Ekonomistyrningen omfattar planering och uppföljning av ekonomiska mål och mått, samt påverkan på en verksamhet och dess personal genom beslut och handling. Styrmedel behövs för att fullgöra ekonomistyrningens funktioner och uppnå företagets uppsatta mål. Budget är ett av de vanligaste styrsystemen inom de formella styrmedlen. I dagsläget är debatten om budgetering intensiv och det råder oenigheter om budgeten i själva verket är ett bra verktyg eller ett onödig ont. Syfte:     Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vilken betydelse budgeten har som styrmedel i det valda fallföretaget. Vidare vill vi ta reda på om de driftsansvariga på Burger King upplever budgeten som ett stöd eller en belastning. Metod:   En kvalitativ undersökningsmetodik och ett deduktivt angreppssätt har använts i  uppsatsen.

För tillverkande företag har det också skett stora förändringar i omgivningen och en mängd faktorer påverkar företagets möjligheter till framgång. Många tillverkningsföretag har därför börjat söka nya sätt att styra verksamheten. Kritiker hävdar att budgeten ofta motverkar en anpassning till dessa förändringar. Syftet med denna uppsats var att förklara hur användandet av budget som styrverktyg fungerar i stora traditionella tillverkningsföretag, identifiera motiv till varför man använder budget eller frångått det samt vilka faktorer som avgör om en budget är ett lämpligt sätt att styra verksamheten.

The point of this study is to bring ideas of improvement, which can make the work method more effective in this company..

Den ökade takten av förändringar i organisationens omgivning har lett fram till att beslutsfattare söker efter alternativa styrmedel som är mer anpassningsbara till den specifika verksamheten. I och med det här så är det realistiskt att tänka sig att beslutsfattare kommer att ställas inför val mellan olika styrmedel. Trots detta så har beslutsfattare enligt tidigare forskning en tendens att vara ovilliga till förändringar. Den här studien har undersökt vilken betydelse kognitiv dissonans har för beslutsfattare i samband med val mellan budget och balanserade styrkort som styrmedel, samt om det finns några skillnader mellan hur svårt det är att byta ut budget mot balanserat styrkort och vice versa. Problemformuleringen testades med hjälp av två hypoteser i form av ett experiment som utfördes av en grupp studenter på civilekonomprogrammet, som kan liknas med morgondagens beslutsfattare, där de fick göra ett val mellan budget och balanserat styrkort.

Den senaste tiden har det skapats stora diskussioner kring användandet av budgetering. Manväljer mellan att använda sig av en budget- eller Budgetlös styrning. Man har delade åsikter påhur användandet påverkar de olika bankerna.En jämförelse mellan två banker har gjorts. En budgetlös och en budgetstyrd bank har valts för attfå en närmare analys och bild hur det går till i praktiken. Vi har utfört en närmare undersökningpå deras sätt att styra genom budget.

Syftet är att beskriva hur man i ett företag arbetar med både budget och balanserat styrkort samt att analysera detta arbetssätt och ge förslag till förbättring och samordning av de båda styrverktygen. En kvalitativ ansats, i form av en fallstudie, ligger till grund för studien och data har insamlats såväl genom intervjuer som genom litteraturstudier. Teorier med anknytning till uppsatsens huvudområden budget och balanserat styrkort har använts. Därutöver har även teorier som berör samordningen mellan de två styrverktygen tillämpats. Den empiriska studien utgörs av det material som framkommit vid intervjuer med respondenter från fallföretaget.

En kvalitativ fallstudie där vi med hjälp av öppna personliga intervjuer talat med folk i ledande befattningar på vår fallkoncern Elektrokoppargruppen för att forma oss en bild av hur budgeten fungerar på företaget. Utifrån valda teorier om budget och dess process har vi sedan analyserat företaget och dess situation. Utav budgetprocessens tre delar har vi kommit fram till att budget är ett effektivt styrverktyg under planeringsstadiet i fallföretaget. I den löpande styrningen och uppföljningen är den däremot dysfunktionell där vi anser att budgeten spelar en kompletterande roll till nyckeltalen som är det överordnade styrinstrumentet. Detta beror främst på de oberäkneliga råvarupriserna. Med rådande ägarsituation förespråkar vi istället en implementering av VBM i hela organisationen.

Background: A health damage that has been specifically related to nursing is pressure ulcers. Pressure ulcers are a complication caused by disease, care and treatment and can result in great suffering for the patient. Pressure ulcers can affect people both physically and psychosocially and is experienced, by most patients, as a serious and unnecessary complication of care. Today there are hundreds of identified risk factors for pressure ulcers described that can be divided into patient and care-related risk factors. A successful pressure ulcer prevention and treatment is to reduce or eliminate the underlying causes for the development of pressure ulcers, prevent deterioration and to treat existing ulcers.
