Virtuella Communities: Sociala faktorer i digitala miljöer
Virtual Communities is an increasingly common phenomenon on the Internet. Most
of the Virtual Communities are operated and maintained on a non-profit basis
with a direction towards entertainment. However, as more state administrated
and commercial services become web-based, we believe that the number of Virtual
Communities with a community-based or commercial direction will increase in a
near future.
In this thesis, we describe our participation in, and studies of, a
number of Virtual Communities with focus on the IRC-channel ?3dfxsweden?. On
the basis of our experiences, we describe the social elements that form the
foundation on which the Virtual Community rely on.

AbstractThe aim for this study is to establish how teachers and supervisors at the Child and Recreation Programme interpret the concept ?vocational knowledge?. It is also about how they substantially can see that the pupils are developing vocational knowledge, during their work placement training. The aim of this thesis is to create a base for teachers to work with continuing development in teaching practice. The empirical part of this study is based on interviews. Interviews were analyzed in three categories: definition of vocational knowledge, substantially developing in vocational knowledge and success factors. The result shows that knowing how and knowing why is salient in vocational knowledge.

In this Bachelor thesis I explore sound and room as elements in design of user
interfaces, both theoretical and practical in a specific application domain, to
identify some of the advantages and disadvantage associated with these elements.
As application domain I studied email clients and their usage at home amongst
students at Blekinge Institute of Technology. In the study I found an activity,
which seems to be highly distributed in the physical room where the user is
located. The activity was notification of email and could take place in an
arbitrary location of the home. I then augmented this activity with ideas from
my theoretical assumption about room and sound.
The result was a rule-based agent for notification of
email, which primarily uses sound as interaction style..
Vad påverkar handlingsutrymmet? : En kvalitativ studie av ekonomihandläggares reflektioner kring sitt handlingsutrymme
AbstractSocial welfare workers employed in the same county base their assessments on the same laws, routines and guidelines, yet it seems that they sometimes come to different decisions. It's the discretion that enables the social workers to make individualized decisions adapted to each clients unique situation.The purpose of this paper is to examine social welfare workers reflections on discretion and what influences their discretion in the professional role.Six qualitative interviews were conducted with social welfare workers in three communitys i the middle of Sweden.The main result shows that it is primarily four factors that affect the social welfare workers discretion in the professional role :External factors such as other organizations change of regulations and cooperation with other organizations.Organizational factors such as routines, rules and guidelines .Professional factors such as the opportunity to use experience and professionalknowledge to determine which measure works in different situations.Individual factors like the workers ability for initiative and the clients individualcircumstances. Social welfare workers feel that they have a relatively wide discretion in their profession. They believe they have the ability to make individual evaluations of each client, however they also believe that their discretion often is limited by lack of time.Key words: social welfare workers, clients, discretion, assessments. .

The purpose with this study was to see the relation between gymnastic pause and concentration to find out the students in a first grade experiences and thoughts about gymnastic pauses in the classroom. I have made a qualitative study to fulfill my purpose, I have observed students before and after the gymnastic pauses, carried through gymnastic pauses with the pupils and interviewed pupils in group.Previous research shows that the good working atmosphere and concentration has improved when pupils have had gymnastic pauses but it is difficult to say how it looks in the long term when the research doesn?t show that.In my study, it appears that the gymnastic pauses make it calmer in the classroom. Some of the pupils believe that they have had a better ability to concentrate after the gymnastic pauses while some pupils believe that they have not had a better ability to concentrate. Some pupils say it's good to get a break to carry on with the schoolwork during the entire lesson.

This thesis aims to further study the interpersonal risk taking within groups and thereby the importance of a climate promoting a reflective behavior. The increased demand in complexity and exposure towards teamwork leads to increased call for knowledge integration, which can be explained as the ability to integrate the collective knowledge within the group. We have therefor identified a need for better understanding what makes a group more effective. Key factors for self-estimated effective collaboration have been shown to be a group's reflective behavior and ability to coordinate the skills that each individual possesses. These factors are greatly affected by the psychological safety within the team.

Business Intelligence-system och deras inverkan på rationellt beslutsfattande : En studie på två företag
I alla typer av organisationer måste beslut fattas och att kunna fatta korrekta beslut är en avgörande faktor för om en organisation ska bli framgångsrik eller ej. En stark tradition bland ekonomer är att beslut bör fattas utifrån den så kallade rationella beslutsmodellen, där beslutsfattare antas ha tillgång till den nödvändiga informationen för att kunna fatta väl underbyggda beslut i enlighet med de övergripande organisatoriska målen. Denna uppfattning har emellertid kritiserats för att vara otillräcklig när verkliga beslut i verkliga organisationer ska fattas, och att rationaliteten är begränsad. Dock finns en uppfattning att datorbaserade beslutsstöd ska kunna minska dessa begränsningar för att mer rationella beslut ska kunna fattas, då dessa exempelvis ska kunna bistå beslutsfattare med adekvat information för snabba och korrekta beslut. Ett sådant beslutsstöd som blivit alltmer populärt under det senaste decenniet är business intelligence-system (BI-system).

Bakgrund/problem: Internetuppkopplade sensorer och sociala medier är två betydande källor tillökningen av datamängden i vår digitala värd. Det ställs idag nya krav påtekniker för att hantera den ökade datamängden i kombination med varieradedatakällor och den extremt höga hastighet data genereras i. Gartner hävdar attBig Data är ett nytt område inom BI som ökar dess omfattning genom attinkludera nya typer av data och källor. Möjligheterna och utmaningarna attanalysera och hantera datamängder växer således för organisationer.Problematiken som uppstår då ökad datamängd finns tillgänglig att samlas in avorganisationer är risken att det görs på bekostnad av individers personligaintegritet. Personliga åsikter, omdömen och erfarenheter exponeras via socialamedier och görs därmed tillgängliga för företag och andra individer att ta del av.Syfte: Studiens syfte är att ge en kvalificerad beskrivning av Big Data som idag utgören stor hype, samt att lyfta fram begreppet ur ett affärsetiskt perspektiv.
Läsförmåga hos vuxna med intellektuell och/eller kommunikativ funktionsnedsättning som deltar i daglig verksamhet
The aim of the study was to examine the reading ability of adultswith intellectual and/or communicative disabilities. The group adults withintellectual and/or communicative disabilities consisted of 66 individuals.One control group consisting of 36 children aged 7 to 12 years and onereference group consisting of 14 adults were used. Participants were given anumber of language and reading related tests. Adults with intellectual and/orcommunicative disabilities had significantly lower results than the adultreference group regarding all tests and significantly lower results than thechild control group regarding phonological processing. There was nodifference between adults with intellectual and/or communicative disabilitiesand the child comparison group regarding word decoding and readingcomprehension.

Denna rapport handlar om framtagandet av en webbaserad rapporteringsplattform för Sandvik IT. Uppsatsen bryter ner och illustrerar de delar i processen som krävs för konverteringen från en dokumentbaserad till en webbaserad rapporteringsmetod genom att utgå från Sandvik IT?s rapporteringsscenario. Den dokumentbaserade rapporteringsmetoden utgörs av Excel och den webbaserade av Reporting Services. Många implementeringstekniska delar som kan vara av intresse för utvecklare tas upp.
Studenters attityder till arbetsmarknad och lön
This essay examines whether feminist theory can give a plausible answer to the question: does female and male students have different attitudes towards the labour market and towards wages? Further more, I examine if factors such as class and ethnicity affect student's attitudes. These questions are investigated through a quantitative study of students at four educations on two different universities in Sweden. Two of the educations have a high degree of female students, and the other two represent educations with at high degree of male students.The main conclusion is based on the quantitative research results. Female and male student's attitudes are similar in some cases.
