Product development cycles become shorter and shorter. The time from idea to market has become an important competitive factor. Despite this, methods used for making the product development process faster are surrounded with uncertainty about their efficiency. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the pros and cons of ?best practice? methods for shortening lead times and how these methods effect the lead times in research and development.

På senare år har intresset för Norden och nordiska varor exploderat i Japan och allt fler nordiska företag väljer att introducera sig på den japanska marknaden. Den här tvecklingen har kallats ?en nordisk boom? i japansk media. Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka Japans bild av de nordiska länderna genom frågeställningarna ?vad är den nordiska boomen?? och ?kan man se någonpåverkan från den när det gäller Norden som resmål??.

Japan's foreign and security policy has seen some substantial changes as a result of events like the first Gulf war and 9/11th. This has been taken as proof, by some, that Japan is abandoning its antimilitaristic stance and pursuing a more traditional hard power role through military means. This essay aims to explore if these shifts have coincided with any substantial shifts away from antimilitarism, which has had a strong influence on the country's security policy since the end of WW2.To do this I use constructivist theory, specifically regarding the impact of norms and identities on states security policy and briefly look into the problem of actor designation. The thematic focus is on security policy, from a narrow perspective, and thus I examine areas like the input and output to the Japanese military and the actual applications of this force. State identity is used to explore the prevalence of nationalistic sentiments and support for anti militarism in the public opinion and the political elite.The result of this study points to the further relevance of constructivist theory and especially the application of norms and identity.

Bakgrund och problem: Det blir allt vanligare i dagens globaliserade värld att flerastora företag söker sig utanför sina nationsgränser för att växa på nya marknader.Detta medför då en rad utmaningar inom ekonomistyrning när man skall etablera sig ifrämmande länder. I vår studie har vi fokuserat oss hur japanska företag medverksamhet i Sverige tillämpar och anpassar sitt belöningssystem till svenskaförhållanden. Belöningssystem är generellt annorlunda i Japan i jämförelse medSverige, vi vill då öka förståelsen hur belöningssystem som styrinstrument skiljer sigmellan dessa två länder. Genom att intervjua människor verksamma i Sverige medjapanska rötter och stor erfarenhet från den japanska arbetsmarknaden kan viinförskaffa lärdom om hur man vill bli belönad och hur de uppleverbelöningssystemets roll som styrmedel och vad som motiverar anställda att prestera.Syfte: Syftet med den här studien är att skapa en ökad förståelse för hurbelöningssystem är utformade i japanska företag och i vilken utsträckning de anpassastill svenska förhållanden samt vad som motiverar anställda att prestera i Sverigerespektive Japan?Metod: En kvalitativ undersökningsmetod har genomförts, riktad till tre expertintervjuer vid två japanska företag.

Syfte Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka japanska ungdomars uppfattningar om och erfarenheter av ämnena sexualitet, sexualundervisning och sexualupplysning. I anslutning till det undersöks ungdomarnas upplevda möjlighet att få sexualupplysning i Japan, samt vilka metoder och kanaler de använder sig av för att få tag på informationen. Frågeställningar * Vad har japanska ungdomar för uppfattningar om och erfarenheter av sexualitet?* Vad har japanska ungdomar för uppfattningar om och erfarenheter av sexualundervisning i skolan?* Vad har japanska ungdomar för uppfattningar om och erfarenheter av sexualupplysning?Metod Jag har använt en kvalitativ metod och gjort tolv intervjuer med japanska ungdomar i åldrarna 21-26 år. Jag använder mig av tio av dessa intervjuer i uppsatsarbetet där ungdomarnas egna och subjektiva erfarenheter, ord, beskrivningar och uttryck är centrala.

För att sammanfatta mitt examensarbete har jag undersökt vad de bakomliggande faktorerna för en bilds genrekategorisering påverkas av, ifall det är innehållet i bilden som påverkar dess effekt eller om det är antingen publikskontexten/produktionskontexten som avgör en bilds genre. Till min hjälp bestämde jag mig för att åka till Japan och träffa en fotograf vid namn Said Karlsson för att genomföra en etnografisk studie och intervjua honom på plats. Dels gjorde jag detta genom att hitta skillnader mellan varandras bilder och att fotografera saker som intresserar mig i Japan som blev en del av min medieproduktion. Vad undersökningen resulterade, med hjälp av intervjun och diskussionerna om varandras bilder, var att en bilds genre avgörs inte av innehållet i en bild, det är i kontextsammanhanget bilden befinner sig inom..

This essay investigates the relation between ?usage? and ?hearing? of dialectal words and expressions in the Ryukyu islands, Japan, in this case words and expressions from a mix of Ryukyuan and standard Japanese, so called uchinaa-yamatoguchi. A survey was conducted and in the questionnaires the respondents were asked to fill in the degree of usage and hearing of each word and expression, consisting of three alternatives each; use often, use seldom and never used - hear often, hear seldom and never heard.My findings show a stable pattern in the relation between usage and hearing, where the usage is relatively low compared to hearing in almost every case. Among the most frequently used ones, one could find words and expressions connected to food, festivals, type of person, adjectives, adverb and animals etc..

Manliness in four Japanese samurai moviesThis thesis deals with the samurai and his portrayal in Japanese historic movies and what kind of messages he conveys in form of masculinity to theater audiences. Four movies were chosen, two from the 1960s and two from the 2010s. The reasoning behind this was to look at two eras of samurai movies and if possible try to see differences between them. The history of the samurai, being a man and woman in modern Japan, R.W Connell and famous Japanese authors from different time eras acted as tools to try to answer the questions in hand.

Västvärlden och Japan har sedan år 1869 haft en ömsesidig inverkan på varandra. De senaste åren har den japanska kulturen kommit att influera många länder i väst mer än tidigare, däribland Sverige. Den japanska trädgården är en av influenserna och det syns bland annat i privata trädgårdar och i plantskolekataloger. Denna uppsats är en studie av hur man i Sverige använder sig av den japanska trädgården. Syftet är att genom besök i japanska trädgårdar i Japan och Sverige ta reda på hur man har valt att gestalta den japanska trädgården i Sverige. Jämförelsen utförs genom litteraturstudier och platsstudier. Litteraturstudierna skapar en förståelse för vad en japansk trädgård är och vad den har för betydelse.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to analyse and interpret artist Hans Hedberg?s monumental, ceramic reliefs in Sweden and France. Hedberg is internationally famous for his ceramic fruits and eggs in different glaces and formats. A mostly unknown side of his artistic production is that he produced about 50 ceramic reliefs during the 1950s and up to the 1970s in public buildings. Hedberg was one of very few foreign artists in France, who, during a long period of time, produced monumental, public reliefs for the French state.

It is becoming increasingly important for companies to meet customer demands due to intense competition in today's global market, that forcing companies to improve their offerings and become better at managing their supply chain (Shen et al., 2006).  Long lead times can be reduced by using different methods and strategies shows various researches. Lead times occur in the planning, production, inventories and handling of products (Treville et al., 2003).The aim of the study is to develop a method to analyze the factors that affect the length of internal delivery lead time in manufacturing companies. The method also included suggestions for reducing delivery lead-time to internal customers.The main factors that influenced the length of the on delivery lead times has summarized to make a selection among the factors that can have the most significant impact. The selected elements will be used as a method to analyze how these areas affect a company?s length on internal delivery lead times.The study shows that the causes of the long delivery lead times was the location of the customer order point, uncertain forecasts, long material and production planning time, and long waits in the production and storage.The delivery lead time, according to this report?s suggested improvements reduced by centralizing CODP and makes more reliable forecasts.

The relationship between China and Japan has historically been problematic and, in some ways still is. One of the issues where both of the states cannot agree on is the island dispute. While both states are claiming sovereignty over the island and there do not seem to be an ending to it in the near future. If the island dispute continues to escalate it could have a negative impact in the Asian region and eventually rest of the world as well. However due to the complexity of the dispute a deeper knowledge is needed and a mutual understanding is needed.

The purpose of this essay was to compare the Swedish and the Japanese pension system and see if there were any big differences or similarities. I was looking for answers to such questions as if the systems were modelled with the problematic demographic situation in mind and also how these two countries had tried to manage the problems. Path dependency was also a central conception when I studied the reforms of the two pension systems. I mainly used literature and Internet sources in my study. There were many books on the Swedish pension system and the debates that had been going on since the 80's.
