Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka om läroböckernas berättelser levde upp till den normativa demokratisyn som formuleras i LPO 94 och om berättelsen om det moderna Sveriges framväxt kan tillskrivas ett värde för alla elever. Undersökningen bygger på en kvalitativ läromedelsanalys av tre vanligt förekommande läroböcker i historia för grundskolans senare del. Vi har i läroböckerna fokuserat på berättelser om det moderna Sveriges framväxt som kan kopplas till begrepp som demokrati, rättigheter, solidaritet och jämställdhet. Utifrån läroböckerna, LPO 94 och aktuell forskning har vi diskuterat huruvida den historiska framställningen av det moderna Sveriges framväxt kan tillskrivas ett allmängiltigt värde. Undersökningens resultat visade att läroböckerna förmedlade en historia som tydligt gick att härleda till läroplanen.

I denna studie har vi valt att undersöka huruvida eleverna i skolår fyra och fem upplever att läroböcker i naturvetenskap vänder sig till dem. Det vi ville undersöka var om det fanns någon skillnad i hur flickor och pojkar uppfattar läroboken i naturvetenskap, och om läroboken tog hänsyn till elevernas erfarenhetsvärld. Vi valde att intervjua elever från två olika skolor i södra Sverige. I vår undersökningsgrupp ingick 14 elever, varav sju flickor och sju pojkar. Vid intervjutillfällena fick eleverna parvis svara på frågor om bilder och text ur en läroboksserie i naturvetenskap för skolår 4-6, från slutet av 1990-talet.

I vårt examensarbete har vi genusgranskat två läroböcker som används i gymnasieskolan. Den ena heter Escalade 1 och används i steg 1 i franska och den andra heter Give ?n? Take: Reader och används i engelska kurs A på yrkesprogrammen. Frågan vi har ställt oss är hur bilden av mannen respektive kvinnan förmedlas i både bild och text i läroböckerna samt om böckerna lever upp till de krav som styrkdokumenten ställer på jämställdhet mellan könen.Vi har kommit fram till att läroböckerna bevarar den traditionella begränsningen som finns på grund av kön där mannen framhålls på bekostnad av kvinnan vilket förmedlar en bild av att mannen och kvinnan inte är lika mycket värda och inte heller har samma möjligheter. Dessutom framställs kvinnan som mer emotionell än rationell och mannen saknar till stor del känsloregister.

The purpose of this essay is to examine whether the descriptions of Stalin's terror in history Textbooks for high school changed from the 1950s until the 2010s. Since previous research shows that Textbook content is influenced from different directions and that it dominates in teaching, therefore I want to find out what similarities and differences that exist in the Textbooks. The survey is based on a qualitative approach because I want to have a profound picture of the descriptions of Stalin's terror. The results of the survey show that the number of casualties and the descriptions on the famine has changed over time. Furthermore, Textbooks also found it difficult to distinguish between terror, politics and ideology.

This paper examines how Hinduism and Buddhism are portrayed in three Textbooks for an upper secondary school course in religion and is limited to a selection of books published in 2009. Based on a qualitative content analysis, the paper examines the extent to which there is an intentional division, that is to say a line between ?them and us? in the ways in which the religions are described, and to what extent the description of these religions in the Textbooks are Eurocentric. The study focuses on whether or not there is a ?them and us? perspective in the different books and if so, the ways in which this approach is evident.The result of this study shows that traces of a ?them and us? perspective can be found in all three books.

The Swedish education system reflects the multicultural society in Sweden, therefore there is a need of school Textbooks that pupils can identify themselves with to create meaning and value in their learning. According to the Swedish Education Administrations (Skolverkets) report (2006) and Selander (2003, s. 198) the school Textbooks are the main source of education in class. There has been an implicit message in the older Textbooks that is associated with the belief that non-Europeans are "seen" as victims, and that Europeans are privileged with a "good life".Many school texbooks has been analyzed from different points of perspectives, however, analysis from a postcolonial perspective on home economics books has practically been nonexistent.Analysis in this study are focused on how non-western people are been portrayed in six different Textbooks in the subject to conclude if the colonial discourse is still maintained and reproduced in the school. To answer the question of formulation an image analysis is made of the six, previiously mentioned, Textbooks.

Barn och ungas skulder som registrerats hos Kronofogden har under de senaste åren aldrig varit flera. Skolan har ett ansvar att försöka hindra denna oroväckande utveckling. Denna uppsats handlar om privatekonomins förekomst i tre olika läroböcker för samhällskunskap 1A1 på gymnasiet och har som mål att undersöka vilken hjälp dessa böcker ger lärare och elever på gymnasiet. I den senaste läroplanen SKOLFS 2011 har privatekonomi lagts till och är numera ett gymnasiegemensamt ämne som alla elever läser.Genom ett kodschema har jag kunnat identifiera förekomsten av privatekonomin och bestämma kvantiteten av densamma genom räknandet av ord. Undersökningen är tvådelad där den andra delen analyserar innehållet och försöker göra slutsatser genom olika typer av textanalyser.Slutsatsen för undersökningen är att de tre böckerna har olika styrkor och svagheter men framförallt är det språkbruket som skiljer sig åt.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how gender in Islam and Hinduism are described in Textbooks for high school. The study was conducted using a qualitative content analysis and also using a feminist gender theory and postcolonial feminist theory. All Textbooks are written or revised after 2011 when The Swedish National Agency for Educations? new curriculum came into force. Previous research in this area shows that it is most common that gender is treated in isolated parts within the chapters, but that there are Textbooks that allows the gender perspective permeate the entire text.

Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur det skånska kriget och försvenskningen behandlas i några av grundskolans vanligaste läroböcker. Vi ville även veta vilken betydelse läroboken har för genomförandet av undervisningen. Arbetet ger en sammanfattning av Skånes historia och en överblick av hur vi som lärare kan motivera studier om Skåne utifrån våra nuvarande styrdokument. Uppsatsen tar sin teoretiska utgångspunkt i historiedidaktiken och betydelsen av ett historiemedvetande.

The study's aim is to implement a Textbook analysis and examine how women are described in history Textbooks for high school and in the curriculums Lgy 70, Lpf 94 and Gy 11. The study has a gender perspective and the study's purpose is to make a comparative study and compare Textbooks with the current curriculum and compare the results with each other to see if there has been any change over time. The survey's material is three editions of Alla tiders historia from Gleerups förlag. The study refers to editions from 1989, 1996 and 2011. General parts from Lgy 70, Lpf 94 and Gy 11 are also central for my study.

The Swedish educational system has taken a step toward change in hopes of a better education by presenting a new national curriculum: Curriculum for the compulsory school, preschool class and the leisure-time centre 2011 (Lgr 11). I have therefore chosen to analyze the Textbooks Champion 4 and Portfolio based on the objectives and areas of knowledge for grades 4-6 found in the syllabus for English in Lgr 11 in order to find out whether or not the Textbooks are in harmony with the syllabus and if the Textbooks can be used to help students meet the requirements found in the syllabus for the English subject.The purpose of this study is to analyze selected Textbooks for the English subject for students in fourth grade to find out which of the curriculum?s requirements are met for grades 4-6, that is, goals and areas of knowledge and if they can be used in the compulsory school.The results of this study show that the analyzed books can be used in an education that today follows a new curriculum. However the education should not only be based on the Textbooks. The teacher must take responsibility for designing an education that suits the intended student group, but also provides students with different learning styles an opportunity to develop in their individual ways.

This study revolves around calculating the extent of appearance of both anonymously and named men and women as well as determining whether or not Yvonne Hirdman?s gender theory is applicable on two versions of a Swedish educational history Textbook called Epos: historia: för gymnasieskolans kurs A (2008) and Epos [historia] 1b (2012), published for two different curriculum. Our qualitative investigation of two parts of the book?s content proves that the two principles of gender system are present in both books, although to a lesser extent in the latter version. Calculating the material, results have shown that anonymous men and women are almost equally presented in Epos 2012, which is not the case in the 2008 version.

The aim of my study is to examine how six teachers discuss their choices of work methods in teaching mathematics, as well as the methods they are currently using and what they have based their choices on. This study also covers how these teachers approach educational planning and where they get inspiration for their teaching material, and finally the advantages and disadvantages of each method according to the teachers. To be able to fulfill my purpose of this study some questions had to be considered: How do these teachers approach the planning of studies of mathematics and where do they find ideas for their lesson planning? Which methods do these teachers use in the teaching of mathematics and what are the reasons behind their choices of methods? Which advantages and disadvantages do these teachers see in the methods they use during the teaching of mathematics? This is a qualitative study, mainly based on qualitative research interviews according to an interview guide. Six teachers, from five different elementary schools, grade 1- 3, have been interviewed for this study.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the perception of Christianity in nine Textbooks andidentify changes in-between them and over time. The content of the Textbooks will also bediscussed in relation to the steering documents connected to each book.I have chosen to focus on three curriculums, Lgy 70, Lpf 94 and Gy 11. My researchquestions are: how Christianity is treated in Textbooks in religious studies in relation to theperception of Jesus, God and man? What are the differences/similarities across time andlearning materials? In what way does the Textbooks change with the syllabuses?Text consumption and discursive practices is analyzed with the help of a set of tools thatare based on the critical discourse analysis and Fairclough's three-dimensional model. Theimage of Jesus, if described by a Textbook, is also analysed.Three Textbooks were chosen from each curricula.
