During the 17th century the production and distribution of printed works increased in Stockholm and Uppsala. However, all works that the publisher wanted to print, did not reach the reader. This thesis aimed to show when, where and how printed books and dissertations did not reach the reader. To achieve this aim, aspects of several well known models showing systems of book production and distribution were combined and adapted to suit Swedish conditions in the 17th century. This combined model focused on processes of selection and was presented and used as a theoretical approach.

I mitt examensarbete har jag studerat hur klarspråk samt text och bild i samverkan kan öka läsbarhet, läslighet och läsvärdet i myndighetstexter. I denna studie har jag avgränsat mig till att analysera Valmyndighetens broschyr Valet i fickformat, som är den enda informationen som från myndigheten som förklarar hur valet går till. Syftet med studien är att skapa förbättrad information till förstagångsväljare, som också hade lägst valdeltagande i Sverige under riksdagsvalet 2010. I studien har jag genomfört två olika metoder; en textanalys och en semistrukturerad fokusgrupp. Syftet med textanalysen var att få en helhetsbild kring hur Valmyndigheten utformat tidigare material vad gäller målgrupp, kontext, språkligt bruk, text och bild i samverkan samt den grafiska formen. Detta för att ta reda på vad som har fungerat bra/mindre bra med Valmyndighetens befintliga information, för att i sin tur skapa förbättrad information som ökar läsbarhet, läslighet och läsvärde hos målgruppen förstagångsväljare.

This essay analyses the act of reading August Strindberg?s novel En dåres försvarstal (A Madman?s defence). It reveals the writer?s motif and purpose with the text and it shows how a certain interpretation of the text is crucial for the writer?s intentions to become reality. But it also shows how this interpretation is threaten by several, both intertextual and extratextual, thematically and structural, factors.

Ella Mathematics is a web portal that will completely replace the printed math Text book in the Swedish elementary school. When the math education is moved in to the digital world the flexibility and adaptability will increase.In 2011 the Swedish government revised the Swedish school system, which contained a whole new curriculum for the elementary school math education. This has been the foundation for the development of Ella Mathematics and the design of the three different users; student, teacher and parent. The development has been done with Dynamic Product Development methods from the project start in September 2011 until the final exam in May 2012.Ella Mathematics has been developed with the pupil?s math knowledge in focus.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur attityder till svordomar och bruket av svordomar i tal och i text ser ut bland studenter på en högskola i Mellansverige.Metoden i denna uppsats är en datainsamling som sker genom en kvalitativ enkätundersökning där studenter på en högskola i Mellansverige besvarar ett antal frågor om svordomar. Deras kön, ålder och program/kurs tas i beaktning så att det går att dela upp data och gå djupare bland annat för att undersöka skillnader mellan män och kvinnors svar. Resultatet redovisas kvantitativt.Det var 32 stycken studenter som fyllde i enkäten vid högskolan i Mellansverige. 10 stycken var män och 22 stycken var kvinnor. Resultatet visar att studenterna tycker att svordomar är okej och de använder alla svordomar i tal och många också i text.

Genom kvalitativa intervjuer med en klasslärare, en speciallärare samt fyra elever har syftet med denna studie varit att undersöka på vilket sätt skapande i bild och illustration till text kan verka som stöd och motivation i språkliga lärprocesser samt om elevernas uppfattningar skiljer sig åt på grund av deras olika språkförmågor. Ambitionen har också varit att synliggöra goda inlärningsstrategier med skapande i bild och illustration som verktyg samt på vilket sätt dessa strategier kan utveckla den språkliga förmågan hos eleven med dyslexi. Elever med dyslexi är i behov av multisensoriska lärprocesser för gynnsam språkutveckling. Det framkommer i studien att pedagogerna tycker det är betydelsefullt att eleverna använder sig av skapande i bild och illustration för att komma åt sin metakognition. Även eleverna upplever detta viktigt, särskilt eleven med dyslexi.

The purpose of this essay is to explore how I can meet children with different kinds of attention deficit disorders. What can I do when the child kicks me and makes me cry? How can I handle it right so that the child and I can feel good? In my text I am writing about how I can prioritize my way when I am angry. I wonder how to prioritize my feelings and feel safe with the other person. I am developing these questions in my text.

This paper presents a study of educational materials used in Swedish language education. The aim of the study is to understand in which way multimodal resources can be used in texts, to benefit in the process of meaning making among pupils in the nine-year compulsory school. The theoretical framework used as a basis for understanding and analysing these educational materials is the social semiotic multimodal perspective and the design theoretical multimodal perspective. The study is a multimodal text analysis but it also involves analyses of the syllabi connected to the subject of Swedish language education. The extended concept of text was introduced in the year of 2000 in the syllabus and today multimodal texts are supposed to be part of the Swedish language education.

Research about what differences and similarities exists between UNHCR and UNRWA in the opinion of a refugee?This examination focuses on a study between The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and THE United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Both organizations are UN-related and are in charge of refugees, however they differ by the fact the UNHCR controls all of the world?s refugees with the exception of the Palestinian refugees, for which UNRWA. The aim of this work will be to examine the definition of refugees as well as their entitlements and in what way they differ depending on which organization they belong to.As theory I have, among others, used Rainer Bauböck?s book ? Transnational Citizenship?.

En diskussion via telefon om hur den första filmen såg ut ledde oss in på ett spår där vi pratade om hur man genom tiden hade använt sig av olika metoder för att skapa en illusion av rörelse. Tankebanorna ledde oss vidare till en fråga om hur vi skulle kunna göra för att skapa något rörligt på ett sätt som inte ofta ses i dessa tider. Skulle vi kunna göra en film som återigen känns genuin, något som är mer än ett par pixlar på en skärm? Anledningen till att vi ville försöka uppnå en genuin känsla var mycket för att man kanske idag har slutat se film som en konstform. Vi vet inte idag hur det fungerar, det bara gör det, och det godtar vi.

After recognizing a lack of children?s voices in the debate about the children?s book Kivi och monsterhund and the gender-neutral pronoun hen that occurred in the beginning of the year of 2012, I decided to interview pre-school children about the same book. My purpose with the study was, using semi-structured group interviews, to examine how 6-year olds talked about the main character Kivi. With the help of Judith Butler?s theory of performativity, I have studied how the children constructed Kivi?s gender in their speech.

Carl Gustav von Brinkman was born in Nacka, Sweden 1764 but in his eleventh year he was sent away by his father to the Herrnhuter school in Niesky to become a missionary. Brinkman developed other plans. The experience of the school as a place that censured his thoughts and hindered his development, took an early start and grew stronger. He tried to convince his teachers in the congregation that they should allow him to attend the university in Halle, but they wanted his father to decide. His father then threatened to exclude him from the family if he went to Halle.

The purpose of this investigation is to examine the extent to which Swedish compulsory school tends to rely upon, and to further reinforce, ideologies that from a theoretical platform of deep ecology can be identified as ?ecologically unsustainable conceptions of reality?. Mainly, this will purport to an examination of the (explicit as well as implicit) prevalence of anthropocenthrism, individualism, ethnocenthrism and rationalism in a) the Swedish National Curriculum; and in b) biology Text books. Methodologically, the study makes use of Fairclough´s approach to, and method for, critical discourse analysis (CDA). The main results are that the National Curriculum indeed expresses a high level of individualism, as well as (although to a lesser extent) traces of rationalism and ethnocenthrism.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att se om hur viktiga adjektiven är för att elevers texter ska kunna anses som goda i bemärkelsen beskrivande och berörande. För att söka svar på frågan samlades tjugo autentiska elevtexter från högstadiet in, för att analyseras i hur mängden adjektiv kunde kopplas till att göra en text beskrivande och berörande. Adjektiven granskades i sitt sammanhang, i den mening de funnits i texten, för att se till helhetsintrycket. För att analysen skulle kunna genomföras valdes relevant litteratur till ämnet ut. Väsentliga begrepps befintlighet i elevtexterna som stilvärde, ordförråd, stilfigurer, betydelseomfång, intensionsdjup och ord för att skapa stämning har undersökts i analysen.

This report describes the creation of an interactive text system for storing, retrieval and publishing of texts, ITS.My task was to create a GUI together with a database capable of handling text, commenting of texts, references between texts, and the capability to associate images with texts.After enough texts have been inserted into the database, there shall be an ability to generate a report out of them.The report describes the methods used when the GUI was implemented, how the database was modelled and implemented, and how the security aspects where solved.The entire project is created with the help of Java, MySQL server, Connector/J and OpenSSL.Furthermore the functions of the GUI and the future of ITS is described..
