In the wake of a heightened interest in the Swedish Middle Ages, the need for knowledge has increased as well. The Swedish Middle Ages was an era when the country truly began to grow closer to the European sphere of culture. The forces behind this transformation are largely to be sought among the social elite, the budding aristocracy of Sweden. The process of becoming ?Europeans? brought with it great changes to Sweden, not the least in terms of the political arena.

I den här uppsatsen gör Anton Andersson, Christoffer Urborn och Tommy Borg under sin andratermin på Journalistprogrammet en kvantitativ analys av könsfördelningen i Sundsvalls Tidning ochDagbladet. I undersökningen analyserades både text och bild i en veckas upplagor av bådatidningarna under våren 2014. Analysen omfattar endast tidningarnas egna material och inköptaartiklar. Material inskickat av läsare eller företagsannonser ingår inte i undersökningen.!Studien visar att tidningarnas namnomnämningar i text domineras av det manliga könet, endast varfjärde namn som fanns att läsa var ett kvinnligt. I bildsättningen var könsfördelningen mer jämn,men även där är männen överrepresenterade.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to see how technology is presented in different fictional picture books that are available in preschool. Six fictional picture books that have connection to technology in picture and text have been analysed. In order to show how technology can be made visible in fictional picture books, the relation between picture and text has been analysed through a technology perspective. Furthermore, the pictures and the texts have been analysed separately in order to show what they show respectively in terms of technology. The fictional picture book has a potential to be a basis for making technology visible in preschool, which is a step in a new direction.

In November 2010, The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (Sveriges Kommuner och Landsting) distributed a survey where 53 % of the responding municipalities declared that they use Twitter. Out of the municipalities that declared they did not use social media, 49 % answered that they were planning on using it but that they had not gotten started. The purpose with social media was primarily declared to be maintaining dialogue with citizens and a channel for information.The informal ?twittersphere? is a new environment for the conventionally formal government communication, and with it comes an entirely new set of demands on the style and content of texts, compared to other media. The purpose of my work was to present a style proposal for the public sector?s communication on Twitter, with the help of theory and empirical data.My methods consisted of Text analysis and qualitative interviews.

The purpose of this paper is to explore how masculinity and femininity are constructed in the magazine Veckorevyn, through a critical discourse analysis of 18 articles from six issues in 2011. This is done by using a variety of theories and previous research results, which is gender theory, the theory of late-modern society and media theory. The analysis shows that Veckorevyn depicts virility and feminine differently. Furthermore, pointing the results from the analysis that a change of manhood and womanhood takes place in the social practice. The selection of articles from the magazine also shows that Veckorevyn seems to promote gender equality. .

Syftet med det här examensarbetet har varit att förbättra ett disharmoniskt medlemsbrev utifrån principer för god informationsdesign. Detta på grund av att verksamhetsledarna har fått klagomål på dess utformning samt att verksamhetsledarna själva tycker att medlemsbrevet är ?fult, svårt att läsa (pga text och form)? och vill därför att det förbättras. Genom min förstudie som bestod av kvalitativa intervjuer med verksamhetsledarna, en enkätundersökning med målgruppen, en omvärldsanalys och två textanalyser kunde jag svara påföljande frågeställningar: Vilka brister finns det i nuvarande medlemsbrevet gällande text, innehåll och form? Min teoriinsamling har utgått från följande frågeställning: Hur kan jag använda mig av de tre principerna för god informationsdesign (läslighet, läsbarhet och läsvärde) för att uppnå harmoni? Mitt gestaltningsförslag utgår från de brister som framkom i metoden och förbättringarna på de rekommendationer som framkom i teorin..

The aim of this master thesis is to examine high school students? understandings and experiences of gender equality and to critically study the formulations and the basis of the project from Save the Children Sweden which are the basis for this master thesis. By using critical discourse analysis and gender theories the formulations and basis of the project and the interviews has been analyzed. The analysis of the project showed neglect for intersectional perspectives and taken for granted hidden opinions about masculinities and femininities. The interviews have been conducted with four high school students, and the students felt that they attend schools which are equal between genders.

This study has examined how teachers in Swedish upper secondary schools work to foster a critical perspective through the education in the subject of Swedish. The study is based on qualitative interviews conducted with three teachers, who have given their views on the role of source criticism and critical analysis of literature in the subject of Swedish. Furthermore, they have described how they incorporate these views into their own teaching.The study has shown that the teachers find that source criticism and literary analysis are interconnected, since both depend on a general critical approach, which they both help foster. The main question the study examined was how Swedish education could help foster a critical perspective. The interviewed teachers' ways of working point out a way: teacher C has integrated source criticism and referencing into most of their education, which makes them central to the education in Swedish.

The present MA thesis analyzes how body and blood functions as historical and narrative elements in Yu Hua's novel Chronicle of a Blood Merchant (1995). In the novel, the story and the plot can not be regarded as disparate items; the two levels of the text are tightly interwoven by what the thesis introduces as a sangvinolent narration. The term conceptualizes the use of blood as a structural element and the thrust of the text, in this case how the ability to sell blood is a prerequisite for the story and the plot.Close readings reveal the structural correlations between the blood-selling main-character Xu Sanguan in the plot on the one hand, and in the story on the other, which can be detected to have, inter alia, an effect on the temporality of the narrative. Themes linked to identity, belonging and survival (performativity, mimicry, reification and alienation) permeate the text. The aim of this study is to investigate the view of literature that shines through in the Swedish curriculum for secondary school, Läroplan, examensmål och gymnasiegemensamma ämnen för gymnasieskola 2011. The idea is that this view of literature becomes visible when analyzing the curriculum?s ways of legitimating the teaching of literature and its relation to the use of a literary canon. The analysis compares the phrases from the curriculum regarding the teaching of literature and compares these phrases with the various literary visions that earlier scholars advocate. Based on these comparisons, discussions are raised about the pros and cons of the curriculum's ways of legitimating the teaching of literature and its relation to the use of a literary canon.

The purpose of this report is to study the risk of dust explosions at the candy manufacturing plant Leaf Sverige in Gävle, Sweden. The risk analysis was conducted with a preliminary hazard analysis, PHA and event trees. The analysis focuses only on the risk posed to employees and material damages at the plant. No third person injuries have been considered. Another purpose of this report is to study risk awareness and risk communication concerning dust explosions.

Uppsatsen ?Vad finns i en bild?? utforskar frågor kring vad som krävs för att bli illustratör samt vad man kan behöva tänka på när man illustrerar någon annans text, sett ur en hobbytecknares perspektiv. Projektet har genomförts genom studier av såväl klassiska bilderböcker som tidigare publikationer på ämnet bilder för barnböcker samt genom en hel del praktiska studier och övningar. Resultatet blev en samling reflektioner omkring skillnaderna mellan att teckna utan krav jämfört med att beskriva någon annans vision, hur man kan använda bilden för att expandera textens betydelse, vad man kan göra när man kör fast, och vilka för eller nackdelar det kan finnas i att välja en tidigare illustrerad text.Illustration är ett stort ämne som är svårt att begränsa och greppa i en kandidatuppsats, icke desto mindre är detta en bra introduktion..

Den här undersökningen handlar om hur flickor respektive pojkar i en årskurs fem använder värderande uttryck i sina narrativa texter. 22 elevtexter, 11 skrivna av flickor och 11 skrivna av pojkar, har analyserats enligt Appraisal framework. Jag har undersökt hur många och vilka typer av värderande uttryck eleverna använder och även hur de har fördelat uttrycken över texterna i förhållande till den narrativa berättelsestrukturen. Resultaten visar att flickorna använder värderande uttryck i större utsträckning än pojkarna. Fördelningen över de olika typerna av värderande uttryck liksom fördelningen av uttrycken över texten är dock ganska likartad för flickorna och pojkarna.This study concerns the use of evaluation in narrative texts written by pupils in fifth grade.

Vi lever idag i ett samhälle som omger oss med olika budskap. Tv, radio och tidningar förser oss med ett konstant flöde av information oavsett vi vill det eller ej. Denna information är i grund och botten texter av olika slag. I skolans värld förknippas begreppet text fortfarande oftast med skriven text i en lärobok. Men behöver det vara så? I denna forskningskonsumerande uppsats har jag tittat närmare på tre olika begrepp som alla behandlar arbete med text inom undervisning på ett annat sätt än det traditionella.
