AbstractIn the literature on multiculturalism and group rights there is a strong tradition that sees diversity as something directly paradoxal to unity. In this tradition, scholars put forward a view of multiculturalism as a divisive and exclusionary process which breaks down the cohesion and unity of society. Related to this notion is that of a neutral and universally valid frame of reference in which political dilemmas can be solved; for example a neutral civil sphere where the ?true essence? of society lies. In this essay I attempt to criticise these two notions.

Electrolux Laundry Systems is the world leader in manufacturing professional laundry equipment.The machines are used in the hotel sector, elderly care, in multifamily houses, laundry bars, and incommercial and institutional laundries.If there is oil or grease left in the clothes after washing may the heat from the dryer cause a chemicalreaction. This reaction may, under certain circumstances cause a fire inside the drum. Competitors toElectrolux has developed its own systems that extinguishes fire inside a tumble dryer and customershave expressed desire to purchase a fire-extinguishing system. Therefore, the project team receivedthe task by Electrolux to develop a fire-extinguishing system that extinguishes a fire in a tumbledryer.The purpose of the project has been to develop a system that both detects and responds to fire in anindustrial tumble dryer to meet the competitors and to satisfy customers' requirements.The goal was to develop a fire-extinguishing system for Electrolux Laundry Systems and develop afully functioning prototype.The project began with information searches on a variety of methods to both detect and extinguish afire. Subsequently, a number of different methods were used to develop a final solution and make aprototype.The result of the project is a fire-extinguishing system that extinguishes a fire inside a dryer.

Genom att få personal och grupper att agera proaktivt i så kallade slimmade organisationer (Lean Production) kan risk för likriktning och stagnation motverkas trots hård effektivisering. Låg grad av samhörighet i grupper har i studier konstaterats försvaga proaktivitet, medan ledarskapsstilar såsom delaktigt och transformativt ledarskap tycks stärka samhörigheten och proaktiviteten. Innevarande studie ämnade pröva sambanden på lägre hierarkisk nivå mellan proaktivitet och ledarskapsstilar, proaktivitet och gruppens kollektiva tilltro till förmåga, genom Banduras begrepp ?Collective efficacy?, och den samlade effekten på proaktivitet genom ledarskapsstil och gruppens tilltro på sin kollektiva förmåga. 411 deltagare i ett större företag inom fordonsbranschen skattade sin ledares stil och sin grupp varefter utvalda index reliabilitetstestades och aggregerades till gruppnivå.

Det huvudsakliga ämnesområdet i denna uppsats är teamorganisation. En kvalitativ studie har utförts i form av tre dagars observationer och tre gruppintervjuer på plats i Terminalen, en avdelning på järnverket, Uddeholm Tooling AB, i Hagfors. Syftet med studien är att undersöka om Terminalen fungerar som en teamorganisation eller inte.Teamorganisationer är en organisationsform som är uppbyggd av flera team och har en ledare som fungerar som samordnare. Teamen i en teamorganisation har i jämförelse med traditionella organisationer ett större ansvar för sina arbetsuppgifter.Det finns ett uttalat problem kring materialhanteringen på Terminalen och medarbetarna får ofta söka efter material som kommit på villovägar. Problemet i sig har blivit en viktig del i studien då frågor kring varför problemet existerar, är relaterat till Terminalen som en teamorganisation.

This study focuses on a cooperation (collaboration) project between municipalities social services and the regions psychiatric care. They will capture a client / patient group that often risks falling between the chairs, persons with a psychic disorder and a problem of substance abuse. The purpose of the study was to study the projects cooperation on its organizational level. The central questions of issue were: What is cooperation in the project? What view do the professionals have of the projects cooperation, and partly have on members of the client group persons with a psychic disorder and a problem of substance abuse? The study was implemented through participating observations on three meetings with the govern group, the project group and the POS-team and interviews with two representatives from each principal.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och analysera hur det multiprofessionella teamet vid avdelningen luftburen intensivvård på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala samordnas, samt om detta ställer särskilda krav på samordningen. De frågor som uppsatsen ämnar besvara är vad som händer när utomstående professioner som inte vanligtvis arbetar inom sjukvården ska medverka i ett sjukvårdsteam samt vilka särskilda krav denna situation ställer på samordningen. För att besvara frågorna har tidigare forskning inom samordning, samarbete, multiprofessionella team samt kultur i främst en sjukvårdskontext använts. En fallstudie genomfördes på avdelningen för luftburen intensivvård vid Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala där åtta intervjuer genomfördes med professioner på avdelningen. Intervjuerna kompletterades med en observation samt dokumentation.

This Master of Science Thesis was a complement project to the PIEp study MENTOL, carried out at a Swedish midsize medical device company.. PIEp nationally works for a long-term increase of the innovation capability of people and organizations. The purpose of this study was to find measuring parameters of innovation that fit medium-sized technological companies and organizations, Another purpose was to evaluate an innovation investment at the company, consisting of external consultant?s education of key personnel in innovation, and a two day innovation seminar with all personnel at the company participating. The methods used during this Master of Science Thesis were: feasibility and literature studies about innovation and innovation measurements, quantitative and qualitative interviews, surveys and workshops.For an accurate measure of innovation it is crucial to a have full understanding of what innovation is, and clarity of the purpose of the measurement itself.

The DISA method is a universal program developed for teenage girls to prevent depression. The program includes cognitive behavioral techniques are suppose to change negative pattern of thinking, give practice of communication, strategies of problem solution and exercises to strengthen the social network. The purpose of this study is to find out how a group of teenage boys were affected by the DISA program and what factors that may have impacted the outcome. Material from three different studies have been used, a quantitative study in terms of data from self-assessment form CES-D, materials from two semi-structured focus group interviews with the boys and material from a questionnaire filled out by the boys on two occasions during the DISA method. The result of the CES-D indicates that the boys had less depressive symptoms after the final group meeting compared to the first group meeting and also a year later. Analysis of the material from focus group interviews and questionnaire have been made from a communication theory and systems theory perspective and indicate a shift to greater cohesion in the group and demonstrates that communication between the boy-group and group leaders had importance for the outcome.

En stor del av arbetet som intensivvårdssjuksköterska består av att möta ochstödja närstående i den svåra situation det innebär då patienten är kritiskt sjuk.Syftet med studien var att beskriva intensivvårdssjuksköterskors erfarenhet avatt tillgodose behovet av stöd hos närstående då deras familjemedlem var kritisktsjuk och vårdades på intensivvårdsavdelning. Nio intensivvårdssjuksköterskordeltog i studien. Datainsamlingen genomfördes med semistruktureradeintervjuer och data analyserades med en kvalitativ tematisk innehållsanalys somresulterade i ett tema och sex kategorier. Temat blev: konsten att finnas där i ensvår situation. Kategorierna blev: att identifiera och sörja för behov, att skapa entillitsfull relation, att visa tillgänglighet, att ge uppriktig information, att låtanärstående vara delaktiga och att samverka i team.

De senaste årtiondenas ökande globalisering har medfört att det blivit allt viktigare för företag att snabbt komma ut med nya produkter på marknaden samt lägga ned mer resurser på innovationsprojekt. I samband med innovationsarbetet förekommer oftast teamarbete i någon form, och på senare tid har det blivit populärt att använda sig av tvärfunktionella team där individer från olika avdelningar inom organisationen samarbetar. Studier visar att företag som använder sig av team oftare når framgång i innovationsarbetet, syftet med vår studie var därmed att: identifiera och förklara sambandet mellan bakomliggande faktorer till framgångsrika teamarbeten vid innovation. För att besvara detta syfte genomförde vi en survey-undersökning per telefon på 69 stycken svenska företag som har någon form av tillverkning i sin verksamhet. Vi valde att fokusera på sammansättningen, kommunikationen och strukturen på teamet som vi ansåg var de betydande delarna för att bygga ett framgångsrikt teamarbete inom innovation.

Syftet med denna undersökning var att studera eventuella skillnader i upplevd motivation och självförtroende mellan fotbollslandslagsspelande och icke fotbollslandslagsspelande ungdomar i åldern 14-19. Dessutom studerades eventuella skillnader mellan pojkarna och flickorna inom samma område. Total deltog 471 fotbollsspelande ungdomar varav 282 spelade i landslagen och 189 inte spelade i landslagen, 270 pojkar och 201 flickor. Spelarna fyllde vid ett tillfälle i enkäterna Grit scale, Sport Motivation Scale (SMS), The self-determination scale och Sport Confidence Inventory. Resultaten visade att det fanns skillnader mellan de landslagsspelande och icke landslagsspelande ungdomar inom variablerna upplevd motivation och upplevt självförtroende.

Background: Surgical complications has been the main cause of medical injuries and deaths worldwide. In 2008 WHO developed the checklist for safe surgery to reduce the number of surgical complications. The objective of the checklist is to strengthen already established safety routines and contribute to better cooperation and communication. Research shows that compliance to the checklist is deficient, which can affect patient safety.Aim: The aim was to study the extent to which theatre nurses participate in the use of the checklist.Method: Observational study was conducted with a descriptive design and quantitative approach. 24 observations were carried out with aid of an observation protocol of two surgical units at a hospital in central Sweden.Result: The results showed that Timeout initiated widely but compliance to all items was considerably lower.

Advanced homecare, district nurses experiences, palliative care, quality of life,Advanced homecare is an arranged specialized medical service doing nursing round-the-clock. The care is preformed in cooperation with a multi-professional team formed of different professions. Advanced home care is mostly palliative care. The purpose is to give the patient better quality of life and anticipate, survey and palliate symptoms. The aim of this study was to describe the experiences of district nurses using advanced homecare when nursing patients with palliative care at home.

Then the language learning process and the approach in a preparatory class differs itself from a general class. The methods conducted in a preparatory class are not just focused on teaching as in a more traditional method. Achieving the objectives in a preparatory class depends on the individual student and the cohesion in the group. Students have different backgrounds and knowledge level, therefore it is extremely important that the teachers use different work methods in order to achieve and to promote the students' language development. The aim with this survey is to get the knowledge about what education methods is being used by teachers in a preparatory class.
