Purpose: The purpose of the study is to find out what mathematical content primary school children encounter in their free options at school.Through observation, the study defines mathematical areas that primary school students encounter in their free options at school. We want the study to show the reader the mathematics that students continuously meet without associating it with regular mathematics as taught in school.A number of mathematical areas have been defined in the analysis of the observations. These areas have subsequently been discussed more thoroughly. Finally, the areas have been arranged in a grid system to clarify the results.In our study, we have discovered that mathematics exists in all the observed situations the students participated in.We believe that observation as a method can give teachers a tool for helping students associate practical actions during their free options with the more theoretical aspects of formal teaching of mathematics. Being able to reflect, evaluate and justify your views is an important part of adult life. Moral education can be a path to develop this knowl-edge; however, it is possible that the moral education gets more obscure when it is not a separate subject. The purpose with this essay is to examine the need of moral education and the presence and the framing of moral education of seven teachers in religion. The purpose is also to analyse where and how the moral education should be included in the curriculum. The survey was conducted through qualitative interviews with a hermeneutic approach.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how four teachers treats and teaches aboutxenophobia and right-wing extremism. A further aim of this study is to investigate whetherthere are any differences in how a teacher at a vocational high school treat and teachabout xenophobia and right-wing extremism against the teacher at a preparatory school, theydo. To achieve my purpose I have used qualitative interviews of semi-structuredform.These interviews were done with two social studies teacher at a vocational high schooland two social studies teacher at a preparatory school.My results show that teachers all too often respond to xenophobic views directly into theclassroom by reasoning and discussions with students. In my resault is also evident thatthere is a big difference between the teachers at the schools how much time you devoteto xenophobia and right-wing extremism in teaching.The conclusions show that these differences largely depend on which group of students thatteachers have.The conclusions will also be that there are great similarities between the way teachers reasonabout how to deal with xenophobia and the means to do, they also are relatively similar..

This essay focuses on how women and the woman emancipation are described in high school history textbooks from the years 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000, using the theories history consciousness and gender. Two textbooks are analyzed from each period. There are several gender theories, in this essay it is Yvonne Hirdman?s theory concerning woman- and gender history that is used. This means that the woman emancipation and women?s history are analyzed from the perspectives invisible, add, and-, how- and gender history.

The intention has been to look at the school system in South Africa and specifically at arts and culture in grade 10 to 12. I have visited a number of classes and interviewed the teachers working at the art centre PJ Olivier in Stellenbosch. By doing this I wanted to get to know the system and to understand the intentions that the curriculum describes.I have all through the study related the areas I?ve looked at to the curriculum to see how well the intentions are implemented. I have also compared everything with the Swedish school system.The curriculum has good intentions but the country has a lot to do before they reach the goals with a school system where everybody is included and where there is ?ubuntu? (Zulu word for humanity or I am what I am because of what we all are).

Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur musik används och lärs ut i den lilla byn Berefet i Gambia. Under ett första besök i byn tyckte vi oss nämligen se att barn och vuxna musicerade med stor glädje och kunskap. Anledningen till ämnesfokus var att vi ville hitta vägar till ett mer naturligt och glädjefyllt sätt att undervisa som musiklärare här i Sverige.Undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer med tre lärare och tre andra invånare i byn. Svaren har vi sedan analyserat utifrån ett musiketnologiskt perspektiv och jämfört med vad andra forskare och författare inom musiketnologi och pedagogik har kommit fram till.Resultatet visar på att det vardagliga musicerandet i Berefet inte är så utbrett som det verkar vid en första anblick. Det visar sig att barnen i byn i första hand lär sig och övar upp sina musikaliska kunskaper i sin hemmiljö, och att de då lär sig av äldre släktingar och familjemedlemmar..

SAMMANFATTNINGDenna uppsats handlar om undervisningen i en mångkulturell och mångspråkig klass i den svenska gymnasieskolan. De didaktiska val som gjorts i undervisningen under ett par månader under höstterminen 2005 redogörs för och motiveras. De didaktiska valen analyseras mot bakgrund av ett kunskapsbegrepp inspirerat av kognitionsforskning. Vidare belyses valen från sociolingvistisk synpunkt och slutligen också ur en andraspråklig synvinkel.Syftet är att belysa de konsekvenser det mångspråkiga och mångkulturella samhället har för skolans praktik och då specifikt för svenskdidaktiken.Resultatet av undersökningen och analysen är att undervisningen påverkas av de mångspråkiga och mångkulturella särdragen. Dock kan stora delar av de didaktiska val som fungerar i denna grupp också tänkas kunna fungera i en traditionell modersmålssvensk undervisning.

Swedish as a second language and special education are two topics that have a lot in common. I have chosen to in my study look at something that is covered by the two subjects: Swedish as a second language education that is taking place in a group segregated from the class. I have interviewed students in preschool, grade one and grade two to learn details of their experience of the segregation. Finding out that it is mostly bad planning and trouble getting the schedule together that?s affecting the pupils in a negative way.

The purpose of this investigation is mainly to study if pupils have enough knowledge concerning the water cycle and the life of the plants?, and what kinds of household word they have, to discuss pollution within these areas. I also studied how the pupils? knowledge are holding up against what the course-plans says, since it have come to light by other investigations that knowledge are insufficient within the nature-oriented (No) subject in school.The survey has carried out on 28 pupils in a 5th grade, with help of a questionnaire survey. Their teacher has been interviewed and I have studied their local course-plans and also the pupils? schoolbooks in No.The result of the questionnaire survey indicates that the pupils had insufficient knowledge within the areas of plants? life and pollution, something their teacher had a presentiment about.The conclusion is that they need to go out more often in the nature and see how the plants and the environment are affected by different factors.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka förekomsten av värden och värderingar i matematikläroböcker för gymnasieskolans kurs Matematik A. En modell som tidigare använts vid analys av värden i matematikläroböcker i Singapore och Australien ligger till grund för granskningen. Modellen utvecklas och tillämpas för analys av sammanlagt 472 övningsuppgifter i tre kapitel i tre utvalda matematikläroböcker. De utvalda kapitlen behandlar området algebra. Modellen visade sig vara tillämpbar i en svensk utbildningskontext.

In previous contact with secondary schools, we have noticed a dull setting for friluftsliv among teachers in Physical Education and Health. We suspected that both teaching and assessment are sometimes conducted in error. Under the provisions of Skolverket the teacher must involve all elements mentioned in the core content of the curriculum and the assessment of students' knowledge may be based only on what is expressed in the syllabus for each course. Research shows that the implementation of the curriculum have failed in the subjects investigated (Skolinspektionen, 2013:22). Det pedagogiska arbetet inom MSI ? Utifrån Bolognaprocessen och UPC.Inom en snar framtid kommer flertalet länder i Europa jobba efter nya riktlinjer enligt en deklaration kallad Bolognaprocessen. Det hela kommer att ske i etapper och innebär att sättet på vilket studenter bedöms kommer ändras, allt för att göra Europas arbetsmarknad öppnare för alla dess miljoner studerande.I Växjö pågår detta arbete för fullt, men för att anpassa sig till framtida krav måste skolan även förändra sin utbildningsform. För att höja sin kvalité har universitetet tagit fram en handlingsplan för att förbättra de pedagogiska arbetsmetoderna i alla institutioner. I den här uppsatsen vill vi belysa hur arbetet med Bolognaprocessen fortgår inom Matematiska och systemtekniska institutionen och vad de gör för att förbättra denpedagogiska undervisningen.

Denna uppsats syfte är att se hur dagens historiesyn kommer till uttryck i läromedel för gymnasiets kurs Historia A. Min utgångspunkt är att historiebegreppet idag har breddats till att innefatta fler perspektiv, som till exempel social-, miljö- och genushistoria. Jag undersökte fyra läroböcker som alla används i undervisning på gymnasiet och tillsammans representerar tre olika förlag. Utöver att titta övergripande på innehållet så fokuserade jag på tre perspektiv. Dessa var genus, etnicitet och historiemedvetande.

AbstractThis degree project focuses on the questions how teachers´ within the four socially oriented subjects? history, geography, religion and social science use the textbook, and their attitudes towards textbooks. The method used in this project was interviews with teachers. Previous research shows that teachers use the textbook to a great extent. Studies also show that teachers? way of educating depends upon their individual educational attitudes.
