The tablet is a new IT-tool which have started to get introduced into school, but research is still missing and especially in the pre-school environment. The purpose with this study is to investigate teachers uptake, how they use the tablet in everyday pedagogy work as well as the organizational conditions that that facilitate and hinders. Through my observations and interviews in a Swedish K-5 school I have found that the teachers find Tablets more appealing to use in comparison to computers. These findings are partly supported by Davis et al.?s (1989) TAM-theory who considers there to be three types of aspects that affect the way individuals adapt to technology.

The purpose of this study is to highlight some aspects of the increased usage of Tablets in preschool environments by answering the questions: what does the tablet become in the preschool environment, how much freedom does the children have over its usage.To answer these questions a series of observations were made at two different preschools. The observations were then complemented by interviews with teachers at the same preschools.This qualitative study focuses on some of the didactic questions regarding the Tablets, based on a theoretical framework that is within the design-oriented perspective; which addresses the children's? autonomy, the institutional framework and affordance.Our conclusion is that the tablet?s introduction in the preschool has helped the teachers in numerous parts of their documentation, but we can also see that the children's opportunities to make choices regarding the tablet are more limited than with any other resource on the preschool. In our results we also see that when the children get access to the tablet they receive a learning experience, which among other things, strengthens their language skills and their social interaction with each other..

The essay is a discourse analysis of the media's attitudes toward computing. The aim is to compare what the media is really saying about the usage of Tablets, computers and compare it to what the research is saying. In addition, it examines what the media says about socialization. We analyze the newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Expressen and will first compare these two together and see what attitudes that emerge, and then seek similarities and differences with the previous research and theories including socialization learning, attitudes and consumption. Conclusions we can draw is that Expressen has a more negative attitude towards the use of computers while the Dagens Nyheter has a more positive attitude, but is also more objective to what they write about.

Implementeringen av Tablets ämnade för inspektioner inom drift och underhåll av vägar har studerats och utvärderats med målet att fördjupa kunskaperna inom drift- och underhållsbranschen och skapa effektivare arbetsmetoder som gynnar alla byggprocessens parter.  Examensarbetet är utfört hos Peab på deras anläggningskontor i Sundsvall och implementeringen har ägt rum på deras driftområde Sundsvall som består av cirka 122 mil statlig väg där Trafikverket är beställare. Genom litteraturstudier, tester av tableten och deltagande observationer så har tabletens användbarhet och utvecklingspotential analyserats och slutsatser har dragits för att ge Peab feedback på deras innovation med ett antal förbättringsförslag. Utvärderingen blev ej fullständig då Peab inte hann införa Tabletsen inom vägdriften innan de 10 veckorna för examensarbetet var avslutade. Att använda Tabletsen inom vägdriften kommer att effektivisera inspektionerna med dels digital dokumenthantering och det viktiga införande av GPS positionering  i de fordon som utför inspektionerna. Detta kommer bli mycket smidigare än den tidigare arbetsmetodiken där i stort sett alla processer innefattande mycket onödigt pappersarbete. Peab rekommenderas fortsätta att se utvecklingsmöjligheter med Tabletsen inom andra områden av vägdriften samt fullfölja utvecklingen av tableten för att få en användbar produkt. .

Denna studie handlar om att undersöka om mobil-IT och återanvändning av teknisk information, som görs sökbar med hjälp av metadata i form av fasettering, kan stödja den dagliga informationsförsörjningen samt lärandet i marina sammanhang. Media Tablets är de informations- och kommunikationsteknologiska enheter som fått stort genomslag på marknaden och som genom att vara bärbara kan vara en presentationsyta för att i verksamhetsprocesser få rätt information i rätt tid på rätt plats. Stora mängder av information som struktureras i top-down hierarkier orsakar ofta svårigheter för personer, som behöver en viss information, att finna den om de inte vet vart i hierarkin de ska leta då sökvägarna är begränsade åt ett håll. Om information istället märks upp med beskrivande egenskaper formas multipla hierarkier, eller fasetterade hierarkier, som ger sökvägar från mer än ett håll och kan underlätta att finna informationen utan vetskap om vart den är placerad. Information kan även bli enklare att finna om den är sökbar på högre detaljnivå, det vill säga om den interna hierarkin i stora informationsstycken bryts upp och informationen blir topicbaserad och varje topic utgör en sökbar och återanvändningsbar del.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the teachers? described experiences of advantages as well as disadvantages of Arne Trageton?s write to read-method (?ASL?) in contrast to the code-oriented traditional way of teaching. The aim of this study is furthermore to depict the teachers? opinions on whether they experience that the ASL-method is unfavourable for students in general. This study will also investigate the teachers? standpoint regarding choice of reading and writing method.

Syftet med maskinen är att den ska vika IKEAs kundpåsar, hanteringsmaskinen ska användas på samtliga IKEA varuhus världen över. The main purpose of this study is to, in the educator?s point of view, try to find out how pre-schools approach science and technology along with Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The survey was conducted based on qualitative interviews where two preschools participated, a total of seven teachers were interviewed. One of the preschools only has access to a computer, and the other preschool is able to use both computer and Tablets in their preschool activities. The results of this show that the teacher?s thoughts about ICT are positive and that they consider it as an important part of their work and have many areas where it is useful.

This project has created a web-application for the service technicians at the paper plant Gruvön. The project was outsourced to the IT-company Sogeti.The application visualizes information about reparation-work of the equipment at the paper plant. The displayed information is work-orders, the status of the work-orders and errors. It is also possible to see the costs and hours spent on reparation-work.. The work-orders and related information is stored in a relational database.The application is created mainly for web-browsers in mobile-phones and Tablets.

Undersöknings syfte var att närmare ta reda på hur ett grafiskt gränssnitt för en och samma webbplats lämpligt kan anpassas för att ge en likvärdigt god användarupplevelse oberoende användaren använder sig av en vanlig dator eller en tablet.För att undersöka problemlösande designmönster prövades en teorisyntes baserad på befästa användbarhetsläror, så som metoder för visibility, affordance, mapping, begränsningar och feedback samt tekniker för grafisk gränssnittsdesign och navigation mot en fallstudie.Fallstudien utgjorde en del av ett större projekt, att ta fram ett koncept för en webbplats avseende ett arkitekturmagasin, att vara kompatibel med såväl en desktop som en tablet avseende möjligheten att med gott resultat ta del av samma tjänstekoncept oberoende plattform.Fallstudien gjordes i flera steg genom att först skapa ett passande tjänstekoncept avseende webbplatsens syfte, för att sedan i iterationer skapa ett interaktions- och ett grafiskt ramverk. Under produktionen togs framför all två saker i beaktande; inputmöjligheter både för desktop med mus och tablet med hand eller finger samt konceptuell modeller vad gällande navigation från både tablet och desktopbruk. Iterationerna avslutades med användartester där fyra personer fick prova de framkomna koncepten.Resultatet och analysen av fallstudien pekar på att det finns riktlinjer vilka en designer kan och eventuellt bör följa för att få ett lyckat resultat.Bland dessa riktlinjer är finkänsligheten gällande input den klara skillnaden mellan en desktop med en mus och en tablet med pekskärm. Därför bör alla interaktiva objekt alltid utformas och placeras så att de är lätta att aktivera oberoende metod för input.För ökad läsbarhet bör inte för liten text användas och dessutom tillkommer avvägning för navigation där det är viktigt att inte fastna i gamla webbdesignkonventioner med djupa hierarkier, utan i stället sträva mot en informationsarkitektur som möjliggör för enkel översikt och navigering.Analysen visar även på att överdådig grafik bör undvikas för att inte försätta användaren i en situation där den behöver fundera över hur den ska göra något snarare än vad..

The physical map that has been used until now can in the modern days be replaced with digital maps available in smart phones and Tablets. One disadvantage of both is that the digital maps require the user to have a fully functional sight. The problem with the research done so far is that it provides little explanation as to why developers have decided to design the maps in a specific way. This paper attempts to replicate a study from 2009 about users reading habits and the future of e?books. Due to the increased use of smartphones and Tablets since 2009, there is a reason to reasearch if the perception and use of e?books has changed. The methods used is qualitative interviews complemented with an online questionnaire.

The internet has become an increasingly part of everyday life with digital artefacts like smartphones and Tablets. We?re looking at the usage of social networks and how the usage relates to traditional addiction. We conducted a quantitative research where 84 poeple finished our web survey. Our research focused on addiction, time spent on social networks, normal and non-normal usage and general user patterns.

The use of digital technology in preschool has been a question aboutif it will be used. By the new curriculum for preschool, it now is a question about how it will be used. My experience shows that many pedagogues are still afraid that the children will miss the interaction whit other children when they are using digital technology.The aim of the study is to see if it is social for the children to use digital technology in preschool.This study is made by inquiry, qualitative interviews and observations.My result shows that children are social active with each other while using digital technology. Turn taking and time determines who will play and what the conditions are. The thesis concludes that children perform social interaction when using digital technology.
