The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine how two novels written by the Swedish author Pär Lagerkvist have been received by the critics in the Swedish daily press concerning their contemporary anchorage. During the time these novels were published, Pär Lagerkvist, through his authorship, expressed a conception of and an attitude towards contemporary political directions. The first of the two novels, The Hangman, was published in 1933, and the second, The Dwarf, in 1944. A second aim is to examine how the two novels contemporary anchorage is reflected in the reviews. The final aim is to examine whether the criticism differs depending on the ideological view of the newspapers.

I have in this essay looked at what stand NWT took to the three leading countries in The First World War, Germany, France and England, and if it changed during the course of the war.I worked based on the theory that NWT, as a politically conservative newspaper was pro-Germany, which also showed to be true.I have look at the official stand, what is shown in the published material, what stand that the newspaper showed outwards. The result shows that NWT held a neutral stand during the war being loyal to the conservative government. At the end of the war the papers sympathies for Germany are shown more openly in its political material..

Sjuksköterskeyrket fick omgående en renodlad kvinnodominans och har fortfarande 90 % kvinnliga yrkesutövare. Vårdande har länge setts som en kvinnlig egenskap och synen på yrket har starka kopplingar till kvinnligt genus. Våren 2011 startade studenter ett medialt uppmärksammat uppror med syftet att höja ingångslönen för nyexaminerade sjuksköterskor.

PAPRO operates within the Forest Research company and their mission is to develop value-addingindustry solutions. At present there are no good ways for mills to easily test the printing quality on newsprintpaper. There is a great need for a fast way to do this on different paper qualities; with a laboratory-offset press this can be both a time and money saving method. At PAPRO Forest Research, NewZealand, a laboratory offset press has been developed and designed, during the past seven years, concerningthis issue. The purpose of this study has been to follow how the Swedish press covers the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest. To do so, I have followed how the image of The Ark, a Swedish rock group, changed in the press during Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. They won in Sweden, but in the big European finale they ended up in 18th place. The study is based on a discourse analysis with the focus on the social dialogue of the band in the newspapers. I have applied the analysis on 14 articles published the day after Melodifestivalen and a week ahead, and 14 articles published the day after the Eurovision Song Contest and a week ahead.

Motivation: The aim of this study has been to conduct a comparative study concerning how race, ethnicity and class is represented in American contrary to Swedish daily press and from there on to explore and explain similarities and differences that have been found in the material.Problem statement:? The material has been elected to meet certain criterias and mainly discusses the effects the health care reform will have on the American population.Approach: The material has been approached by using theories concerned with race, ethnicity, class and framing. The method used to analyze the material was Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA).Results: The results shows significant similarities, although mainly differences, between the countries? daily news flow.

Ådalen 1931 - Göteborg 2001, A comparison of two incidetns that upsett Sweden. An essay about how the press in Norrbotten wrote about the incidents in Ådalen 1931 and Göteborg 2001. För att uppfylla syftet har tre frågeställningar gjorts: Vad är huvudfokus i rapporteringen? Vilka länder rapporteras det mest ifrån? Vilka personer får komma till tals? Undersökningen grundas på teorier om nyhetsvärdering och medielogik, samt tidigare forskning om kriskommunikation. Den valda metoden är kvantitativ innehållsanalys och har utförts med hjälp av ett kodschema. Sammanlagt kodades 223 texter från tre olika genrer; notiser, artiklar och reportage.Resultatet visar att Aftonbladets och Daily Express rapporteringar inte skiljer sig så mycket från varandra.

This increased demand is not something that existing lines will manage. To build new lines cost a lot of money and take time so it is essential that new lines are correct from the start and not need to be rebuilt or a lot of time spent to trim it.GoalThe goal is to achieve 100% theoretical utilization of the press (the press shall press the amount of plates it is designed for).

Aim: The aim of the study was to investigate 1RM and what power could be generated in bench-press and half squat concentric at certain percentages of 1RM. Special interest was put to evaluate men (M) and women (K), strength trained (ST) verses non strength trained (EST) in generating absolute power as well as power relative to 1RM.Method: In total 59 subjects mean (± SD) age 24.9 ± 4.1 years divided into four test groups: 20 male non strength trained GIH-students (EST M), 20 female non strength trained GIH-students (EST K), 10 male strength trained - sprinters on national/regional level (ST M), 10 female strength trained - sprinters (ST K) on national/regional level. They did two tests on 1RM and power in events of concentric bench-press and half squat in a Smith machine. In the first test session 3 ? 5 lifts were made to measure 1RM in each event.

I denna uppsats har syftet varit att, könsuppdelat, undersöka samband mellan småbarnsföräldraskap och psykisk press hos sammanboende småbarnsföräldrar vid två mättillfällen, 1991 och 2000, samt att jämföra och förklara resultaten. Datamaterial som använts i uppsatsen är hämtade från de riksrepresentativa Levnadsnivåundersökningarna (LNU) som genomfördes 1991 och 2000. Resultaten har sedan diskuterats.Fynden visar att småbarnsföräldrar har det gemensamt mellan könen att de upplevt ökad psykisk press från mätningen 1991 till 2000. Det finns dock skillnader i den psykiska pressen mellan könen vid båda mättillfällena och skillnaderna har förändrats från 1991 till 2000. Vid båda årtalen gäller för kvinnor att småbarnsföräldraskap fungerar skyddande mot psykisk press.

During the last decades business journalism has vastly increased its share of media coverage. Hvitfelt och Malmström (1990) states that media space devoted to business reporting have more than doubled since the mid 1980s. This fact alone is an important reason for studying the same. Hence this study, which is aimed explicitly at investigating how business press use and manage experts, in this case primarily equity analyst, in their reporting. Our purposes are the following: Examine to what extent media players use analyst in their business reporting.

The purpose of this study has been to investigate how the temperance movement IOGT in Karlstadcampaigned for people to vote for a referendum on alcohol in 1922 and how it has been tackled bythe local press. To answer the purpose a qualitative text interpretation has been used from IOGT'smeetings protocols and the local press used are the two largest newspapers in Karlstad during thisperiod of time, Karlstads-Tidningen and Nya Wermlands-Tidningen. AbstractIn this essay I discuss narrative in the reconstruction of national identity. I discuss exclusion as a side effect in thick identities. That means that thick national identities always exclude another part. From this I´ve discussed the Swedish identity and its effects in the European co-operation. Identity is a discourse that reconstructs linguistically.
