Simulering av en framtida presslinje - en analys av design och prestanda


Problem areaAlfa Laval is a world leading company in the heat transfers area and have the vision to continue to be that in the future as well. The company has a lot of press lines where the utilization is high and also has started to become old. Prognosis shows that there is an increased demand of heat exchanger in the future. This increased demand is not something that existing lines will manage. To build new lines cost a lot of money and take time so it is essential that new lines are correct from the start and not need to be rebuilt or a lot of time spent to trim it.GoalThe goal is to achieve 100% theoretical utilization of the press (the press shall press the amount of plates it is designed for). This means that data for the other machines in the line must be decided. Part goals of this project is:· To visualize the future press line so personnel will have a common picture of the whole line.· To decide flowcharts and layout for the future line.· To analyze the size and form of the storage after the line.· Examine the data for loading device and other bi-stations in the line so the press will strike the amount of strikes it is designed for (100% theoretical utilization)MethodTo do the calculations manually is both complex and time demanding. Simulations is a good alternative to use to solve this problem since it will make the dimensioning work easier and also make it possible to analyze future problem areas and situation. To have the possibility to analyze, do tests and examine how the press line will act when the conditions changes before the line is built makes simulation a good and interesting tool to use. Since the flow is complex and has a great variation makes the solution of computer simulation even more interesting.Result and discussionThere are different sets of combination of the data that can be used so the goal will be achieved. There are two solutions that seem to be more suitable than the others; future studies can show which one is best. Some assumption has been made for those machines where no solution is available at present; further studies must be made in this area.ConclusionThe solution that is used in this master thesis still has several problems to solve. One example is the handling of the copper folio. If the unsolved problem are solved and have the data that is assumed will Alfa Laval have two solutions to decide between. Future tests and economical analyzes will show which one is the most suitable for the company.
