AbstractThe aim of this review was to describe how quality of life is experienced among patients with diabetes type 2. Literature search was made in Medline and the keywords used were ?diabetes mellitus type 2? and ?quality of life?. Twenty studies were examined and categorized into four sections: Quality of life during complications due to diabetes type 2, quality of life during various treatments, quality of life during depression and quality of life and aspects in relation to the individual as well as social aspects. The designs of the studies were of a varying kind: randomized controlled studies, comparative studies, correlative studies and descriptive studies.

Miljö och hållbarhet är något som kommit att uppmärksammas allt mer sedan startskottet på 70-talet i samband med ökat fokus från regeringshåll och grundande av miljöorganisationer. I takt med konsumenters ökade medvetenhet har kraven höjts på svenska klädföretag och deras arbete med hållbar utveckling och hållbara produkter. Problematiken ligger i att svenska klädföretag utför sitt arbete på olika sätt och därav finns olika tolkningar av hur en hållbar produkt är framställd och vad denna ska innehålla. Det är även svårt för kunder att få ett grepp av en hållbar produkt, då de inte finns någon konkret definition.Den övergripande problemformuleringen i arbetet har berört hur olika svenska klädföretag och miljöorganisationer definierar en hållbar produkt. I uppsatsen presenteras olika definitioner av hållbar utveckling och den lagstiftning som ligger till grund för de produkter som produceras och säljs på den svenska marknaden.

Portable is a project with its starting point in plastic bags, how they negatively affect our planet and how people´s patterns of behavior and qualities of life are affected when people try to live more envi¬ronmentally friendly. Now we have reached the point when peoples way of living and consuming in the western world has to change. This is nothing new and we can now see that sustainability is start¬ing to get attention in every area.Today plastic bags are used on average for 12 minutes. Only one out of 200 is reused, and then only once . This is not sustainable at all.

Effekterna av terrorattackerna i USA den 11 september år 2001 är många och det ställs idag allt större krav på att skydda människor och objekt från attacker. Gemensamma säkerhetsföreskrifter för civil luftfart har införts för alla EU-länder och år 2002 infördes nya säkerhetsåtgärder för svenskt civilflyg. Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka hur flygresenären upplever säkerhetsåtgärderna/-reglerna utifrån sin bedömning av de riskkällor som säkerhetsåtgärderna ska skydda dem ifrån. Undersökningen utfördes med hjälp av halvstrukturerade intervjuer med tio flygresenärer vid Luleå Airport. Resultaten visade att majoriteten av respondenterna varken kände sig mer eller mindre säkra av säkerhetsåtgärderna/-reglerna som infördes 2002 och även att det fanns många åsikter om regeln om begränsningar med avseende på medhavd vätska i handbagage.

This master?s thesis describes the development of a model of the catalystsystem aiming at control by an MPC. A well functioning model, which is suitable in control purpose, is important while emission legislation become more and more hard to fulfill for the car manufacturers. Much research has been done in the field of physical modeling of the system, but in this work a linear adaptive time discrete ARX-model is developed and validated.The systems tendency to change its dynamic during usage implies that the model must be adaptive. The developed model proved to be well functioning and shows promising conditions for the MPC design.

Today a lot of goods is transported on wood pallets because it?s practical and enabels a fast way to load cargo. The drawbacks with pallets are that they weight a lot, are big and are relatively expensive. Therefore IKEA has developed plastic lists that can replace the europallet in some applications. In this examwork an automatic handling equipment for plastic lists are design from a requirement specification to a finished machine.

This study examines the equity cost of capital between two periods distinguished by substantial differences in IPO activity. In light of the stemmed IPO flow to the Swedish stock exchange in 2012, this study regards the conjecture that the IPO count is related to the prevailing cost of equity capital for certain periods. By application of the Residual Income Valuation model the cost of equity capital is abstracted from sampled stock prices and compared at two points in time for which extreme highs and lows of IPO activity were observed. Using randomized samples from 1999 and 2012, significant differences between the estimated costs of capital are established. The findings indicate that the equity cost of capital, much as it may help influence, nevertheless plays a subordinated role in the going-public decision..

Detta examensarbete ger en introduktion till området systemutveckling. Kravhantering har i alla tider varit en viktig del i systemutveckling. För att kunna lyckas med kravhanteringen under ett systemutvecklingsprojekt är det viktigt att använda sig av rätt teknik. En teknik som finns för att kunna hantera de krav som ställs på ett system är Use Case som härstammar från UML. Syftet med detta examensarbete var att ta reda på de för och nackdelar som har upplevts av användare som har arbetat med Use Case i samband med kravhantering.

In this thesis we investigate the level of deliberative democracy in the current implementation of the 24/7 Agency in the local government. We are interested in how the combination of the two seemingly opposing ideals of Demokratiutredningen and the 24/7 Agency is solved. Our analysis is based on interviews with civil servants from three kommuner in Skåne and a schematic overview of their websites. As a theoretical framework we use New Public Management Theory, Deliberative Democracy Theory, and Citizen Theory.We have found that the local 24/7 Agency is initiated and implemented by public servants. Their experiences and worldview is mirrored in both process and result.

This study is based on three focus group interviews with minors living in Örnsköldsviks municipality. The aim is to investigate what minor individuals want to gain more influence in that concerns their citizenship rights. It also aims to investigate what obstacles there is in their surroundings that prevent them from influencing it. I have conducted semi-structured interviews with the focus groups. The theoretical framework consist of T.H Marshalls theories about citizenship, with the division of civil, political and social rights.

Detta examensarbete är utfört på uppdrag från AVL Södertälje Powertrain Engineering AB.Målet med arbetet har varit att utveckla ett styrsystem för ett elektroniskt styrt pneumatiskhydraulisktventilsystem på en encylindrig förbränningsmotor i en testcell. AVL är enoberoende firma som utvecklar drivlinor med förbränningsmotorer samt instrumenterings- ochtestsystem. Ventilsystemet, med ett fungerande styrsystem, ska användas i AVLs utvecklingsochforskningsarbete på förbränningsmotorer.Ventilsystemet,Free Valve Technology, är utvecklat av Cargine Engineering AB och består avelektroniskt styrda pneumatisk-hydrauliska aktivatorer som opererar en motorventil individuellt.Aktivatorernas styrsystem har utvecklats helt iSimulink och implementerats som en integreraddel i det av AVL utvecklade motorstyrsystemet Raptor. Hårdvaran och plattformen är ett rapidprototyping system från dSPACE GmbH. Systemet har visat sig fungera tillfredsställande i entestcellmiljö vid lyfthöjder större än 3 mm och varvtal lägre än 2500 rpm, även underförbränning.

Rooted in Industrial Ecology (IE) theory, this report evaluates how urban agricultural concepts and techniques, can contribute to improved ecological sustainability within the inner city boundaries of Stockholm. An overarching literary study as well as an interview was carried out, resulting in a qualitative analysis followed by suggestions for practical implementations. A substantial convergence was found between the eco-restructuring objectives of IE and the principal motives for urban agriculture. Consequently, eco-restructuring objectives are found in varying degrees in the presented urban agricultural techniques. Industrial symbioses, permaculture and combinations of urban agricultural techniques are tools which are capable of corresponding adequately to the diversity of urban settings.

Global catch fishery is said to been oppressed to its limit (Boyd & Schmittou, 1999), further implying aquaculture might be the only solution to the world demand for fishery products. The applied term aquaculture in this paper refers to the one used by NOAA (2008); breeding, rearing, and harvesting of plants and animals in all kind of water environments, including but not limited to ponds, rivers, lakes, and the ocean. According to Shamshak & Anderson (2008, p. 74) aquaculture has over the past 20 years been the fastest growing food sector with an average annual growth rate of 8.7%. Den här studien utgår från en fenomenografisk ansats. Vi avser att fånga skilda uppfattningar om arbetsplatslärande och studera hur uppfattningarna påverkar medarbetarnas arbetstillfredsställelse. Vi utgick från två frågeställningar: vilka uppfattningar har medarbetare av hur de lär på sin arbetsplats, och finns det skillnader i medarbetarnas uppfattningar av vad de lär? Resultatet visar att deltagarnas uppfattningar om fenomenet skiljer sig åt. Tolkningen av resultatet visar att deltagarna lär på olika sätt och använder kunskapen olika i deras yrkesutförande.
