Att beskriva etnografiska föremål med hjälp av ämnesanalys och ämnesindexering

The aim of this masters thesis is to analyze how Subjects of ethnographical objects should be described. To obtain this we focus on which Subject aspects of ethnographical objects that could be possible and valuable to analyze and to index. This is done with the help of established LIS Subject indexing theories, and through the perspective of ethnographical museum documentation. The theories are both general, concerning the stages of Subject indexing, and more specific, regarding the indexing of pictures. One of the latter is the theoretical model of Sara Shatford, from the article Analyzing the Subject of a Picture.

SAB-systemet och ämnet religion en studie av ett klassifikationssystems förmåga att klassificera en vetenskaplig discipline.

Classification systems express an idea of the world as it was when the systems was made. If the classification system is not revised there is a possibility that the system will become antique and hard to apply to different Subjects. The purpose of this study is to see if the SAB-system is a classification system which shows a reflection of the Subject Religion that is equivalent with that of Swedish universities. The ideas which are behind the classification of the Subject religion in the SAB-system have been analysed, as well as the structuring of the scientific discipline Religion at the universities. The result will show if the SAB-system can classify the Subject religion in a satisfying way at university libraries.

This essay deals with how the development of society, the media society in particular, has an impact on the teaching of the Subject of art. In the society of today, we are bombarded with more images than ever before. As an effect of this, the curriculum of 2011 emphasises the importance of the ability to orientate oneself in the modern society. Furthermore, it describes art not only as a practical Subject, but also as a verbal and community-orientated Subject. Because of sparse and dated research, the Subject of art is in danger of marginalization as a school Subject. The purpose of this study is to illustrate art teachers? conception of the aim of the Subject of art.

Att klassificera arkeologi: En komparativ studie av tre klassifikationssystem

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to compare classification codes and feature headings of three different universal classification schemes SAB, UDC and DDC, when classifying archaeological literature. The aim is to determine whether a Subject analysis of a title generates similar feature headings in the three systems, and to find positive and negative things about each system from an archaeological point of view. The comparison and the analysis of the 22 chosen archaeological monographs showed that the Subject analysis of the titles didnt always generate similar feature headings. This could depend on several things, for example different interpretations of the Subject analysis of a document, less knowledge about the system and/or the Subject, or the fact that its not the same classifier that creates the codes. The study also showed that the different classification systems did treat the Subject archaeology a bit differently, and that its difficult to say that one of them is better for classifying archaeological literature.

Ämnesövergripande undervisning i läsförståelse : Mellanstadielärares kompetens och undervisningsstrategier i olika ämnen

In this study, six teachers have been interviewed about their vision and teaching of reading comprehension, both for pupils who has cleared the reading code and those who have not. The aim is to illustrate if teachers in middle school spend time to exercise reading comprehension, or if this is left to the Swedish teachers. Thus only according to the Subject Swedish, the students are entitled to be given the opportunity to develop reading strategies.The interviews are semi-structured based on qualitative research. The informants are three teachers of Swedish and three teachers of other Subjects. Two different interview guides were used containing three questions.

Hur ser vi på vår framtid? : En kvalitativ intervjustudie om idrottslärarstudenters attityder och syn på ämnet Idrott och hälsa och yrket som lärare i Idrott och hälsa

AimThe aim of the study is to examine how future teachers of Physical Education view the Subject, the occupation and their attitudes about the future and create an understanding about this through these research questions:In what way do the teacher students justify the Subject Physical Education?How do teacher students view the future of the Subject and the occupation?According to the teacher students, what and whom affect the Subject? Is there a difference between the teacher students?views and attitudes depending on if they are currently in their second or last year of their education?MethodThis study use qualitative methods in order to create a deeper understanding for the participants? views and attitudes. Eight teacher students of Physical Education were interviewed. The interviews were between 27-57 minutes. They were recorded, transcribed and then analyzed from a socio-cultural perspective as well as Bernstein?s theory of classification.ResultThe participants justify the Subject in words such as that it gives the students? knowledge about how to uphold a decent standard of living and an understanding for the correlation between physical activity, nutrition, health and wellbeing.

The aim of this master thesis is to study how academic librarians can overcome the gap between themselves and the user. The gap, as we see it, is generated by the user's deeper knowledge surrounding her Subject in comparison to the librarian. This knowledge gives the user possibilities to handle certain discourses attached to the Subject and a knowledge how sub-Subjects relate to each other within the main Subject. At the same time the user is in need of help to find information within her Subject, this need needs to be explained to the librarian as a search expert. The scope of this master thesis is to find how the librarian, tactically, can reach the users need despite lack of Subject knowledge.

The main purpose of this study has been to survey the pupils? general comprehension of the content and aim of Swedish as a Subject in upper secondary school and their attitude towards the Subject. Furthermore the study aims at discerning whether there is a distinguishable difference between programmes with vocational and academic character.The study is based on the results of 101 answers from students in an opinion poll handed out at a Western Swedish upper secondary school. Throughout the analysis the results of the two programme groups have been weighed against each other. The result of the survey shows that:? The understanding of the aim and content of Swedish at upper secondary school is acceptable as a whole.

The study will examine how teachers relate to religious studies for middle school students. Religious studies are the oldest but also the most contested Subject undergoing the most changes over time. The Subject is far from being obvious. The objective of the study is to map the cognitive structure of Library and Information Science, using a quantitative, bibliometric method. This empirical study shows how co-citation analysis combined with word-frequency analysis can be used to describe the Subject content of the field. The research questions to be answered are: -Which clusters of authors can be identified? -How can these clusters be described in respect of their Subject content, if the descriptors associated with the authors in the clusters are counted? The results show that the cognitive structure of Library and Information Science can be described by 13 clusters of authors, where each cluster is representing a specific aspect of the Subject- domain. Ett på allvar integrerat svenskämne? : En studie av uppgiftskulturen i läromedlet Känslan för ord.

The aim of this paper is to analyze and problematize the content in the teaching media Känslan för ord through an integrative perspective. This is done by using two sets of questions based on two of the didactic questions what and how. How is the content of the Swedish Subject constructed in Känslan för ord? and How is this content integrated in Känslan för ord? The used material consists of a fairly large amount of literature which provides different approaches, priorities, and methods about the Swedish Subject. This literature forms the base for the model used to analyze the course books.The results are based on an analysis of the exercise culture (uppgiftskultur) in the two books and are extensive.

Inställningen till ämnet Idrott och hälsa : En undersökning av attityder bland invandrarelever och svenska elever i grundskolan

The purpose of my work is to study what attitude pupils with immigrant background as well as native pupils have towards the Subject Physical Education (PE). An other purpose with my work is to contribute in a way that all newly graduated PE teachers think of making the Subject PE to a Subject that all pupils regardless gender or background can get advantage of.During the whole work I compare pupils with immigrant background to native pupils and boys to girls. The reason why I compared boys to girls is that I want to study how satisfied girls are compared to boys when it has to do with the Subject PE. I consider that boys take more and more space in PE lessons.The method I have used is both interviews and surveys. I chose a school in Stockholm.
