En undersökning av attityder bland invandrarelever och svenska elever i grundskolan
The purpose of my work is to study what attitude pupils with immigrant background as well as native pupils have towards the subject Physical Education (PE). An other purpose with my work is to contribute in a way that all newly graduated PE teachers think of making the subject PE to a subject that all pupils regardless gender or background can get advantage of.During the whole work I compare pupils with immigrant background to native pupils and boys to girls. The reason why I compared boys to girls is that I want to study how satisfied girls are compared to boys when it has to do with the subject PE. I consider that boys take more and more space in PE lessons.The method I have used is both interviews and surveys. I chose a school in Stockholm. The investigation group consists of 50 pupils with immigrant background and 50 native pupils. Among the pupils with immigrant background were 30 boys and 20 girls and among the native pupils were 28 boys and 22 girls. The pupils had to answer a survey, some of them answered it during PE lessons and others answered it in the classroom. I interviewed two PE teachers in the same school. I asked the same questions to both teachers but I did the interviews with one at the time in order not to have a situation of influence.The result and the conclusion of my study is that the subject PE is a very appreciated subject among pupils between 9-13 years regardless background. My study also shows that more native girls have a favourite sportman compared to girls with immigrant background. Why is it like that? This could be a topic for another study.The teachers who took part in the survey did n't think that the attitude towards the subject PE is different between pupils with immigrant background and native pupils. They considered that some pupils with immigrant who were a little messy in the classroom did better during PE lessons.
