Being an immigrant in a Swedish school today might not be easy. It´s quite difficult to be accepted and becoming a part of an already functioning group. Difficulties with the Swedish language doesn´t make it easier. Besides that the requisites of the school curriculum program are very demanding and Swedish students are often in advantage already being a part of the system for many years.By following five immigrant boys in grade 6 during ten ensemble lessons, one concert and individual interviews with the boys as well as with their teacher, this study aims to investigate how ensemble playing can function as a social tool and promote interaction as well as integration.The results in this study show that ensemble playing in fact can function as a social tool. The boys developed abilities in playing an instrument as well as cooperating and analyzing by using the social tool of ensemble playing.The results even show that ensemble playing can promote interaction as well as integration.Above everything was the concert where the boys acted in front of their classmates and were treated with great respect and acceptance..

Sverige är ett mångkulturellt land och det finns intentioner till integration i samhället och dess olika instanser. Skolan är en instans där barn, ungdomar och vuxna med olika bakgrund möts. Studenter med svensk bakgrund och studenter med utländsk bakgrund agerar inom skolan och det sker en kategorisering av studenterna i kategorierna svenskar och invandrare. Syftet med studien är att lyfta fram och tolka gymnasiestudenters tankar kring begreppen svenskar, invandrare och integration. Ett delsyfte är att genomföra en prövning av flödesskrivning som metod.

This essay shows how teachers adjust the literature studies in the mother tongue subject to their different classes in upper secondary school.The study is based on interviews with two teachers and an analysis of two different school-books. This study discloses Swedish human service organizations and their methods of integrating unaccompanied children into the Swedish society. The purpose of the study is to investigate how social workers at HVB-homes for unaccompanied children depict their experience in and knowledge of how the unaccompanied children are integrated into Swedish society. The method of investigating the questions raised by the purpose of this thesis has been qualitative analysis of answers derived from interviewing personnel at HVB-homes for unaccompanied children. In doing so we have made use of a semi-structured method of interviewing the above-mentioned personnel. The data derived from these interviews has thereafter been analysed and filtered through the concept of integration and the theoretical formations human service organizations and street-level bureaucrats.

The aim of this masters thesis is to analyze how subjects of ethnographical objects should be described. To obtain this we focus on which subject aspects of ethnographical objects that could be possible and valuable to analyze and to index. This is done with the help of established LIS subject indexing theories, and through the perspective of ethnographical museum documentation. The theories are both general, concerning the stages of subject indexing, and more specific, regarding the indexing of pictures. Syftet med arbetet är att ge exempel på hur yrkesverksamma pedagoger och andra vuxna inom skolans värld arbetar med integration och tolerans mellan elever från olika kulturer. Detta ger vi ett antal exempel på i litteraturgenomgången och sedan kompletterar vi dessa exempel genom en empirisk undersökning, där pedagoger och vuxna i skolans värld intervjuades om hur de arbetar med integration.I litteraturgenomgången ges också en kortfattad överblick över hur invandrares situation i Sverige, gällande integration, har förändrats under de senaste 50-60 åren och några olika typer av kulturkrockar.En kvalitativ undersökning genomfördes i form av intervjuer, som först spelades in på band och som därefter transkriberades och sammanfattades.Resultaten visar att man kan arbeta på flera olika sätt för att öka toleransen mellan olika kulturer, bl.a. genom att arbeta med värdegrundsfrågor och utvecklandet av språkkunskaperna i svenska. Vår tolkning är den att integration är ett område som man, behöver arbeta med i ett långtidsperspektiv. Detta oavsett vilka nationaliteter som är representerade i barngruppen..

Classification systems express an idea of the world as it was when the systems was made. If the classification system is not revised there is a possibility that the system will become antique and hard to apply to different subjects. The purpose of this study is to see if the SAB-system is a classification system which shows a reflection of the subject Religion that is equivalent with that of Swedish universities. The ideas which are behind the classification of the subject religion in the SAB-system have been analysed, as well as the structuring of the scientific discipline Religion at the universities. The result will show if the SAB-system can classify the subject religion in a satisfying way at university libraries.

This essay seeks to gain understanding on the thoughts of Konrad Adenauer regarding the future of Europe in the post-WWII era, and European integration in particular. The material used is his memoirs, which gives an insight into the part of his thought that he chose to share with the rest of the world. The essay uses an analytical framework of three theories, popular within the academic discipline of international relations: realism, liberalism and constructivism. The conclusion it draws is that none of the theories can in a satisfying way describe Adenauer?s thoughts, but rather that they all in some way describe certain elements of his thoughts.

The aim of this two years master thesis in Library and Information Science is to examine how librarians and library managers in the three Stockholm suburbs of Alby, Fisksätra and Rinkeby think and reason about the role of public libraries in the integration process. The aim is also to examine whether their perception differ from that of local politicians at the municipal level. The theoretical framework is Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hanses model for analysis of the local library profile, and Jose Alberto Diaz theory on the integration process. The method used is qualitative interviews. The interviews were recorded and the content was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results of this study show that the library services in the three suburbs, rather than being stipulated by the legal demand for special services towards immigrants, are based on the needs of the local population.

This essay deals with how the development of society, the media society in particular, has an impact on the teaching of the subject of art. In the society of today, we are bombarded with more images than ever before. As an effect of this, the curriculum of 2011 emphasises the importance of the ability to orientate oneself in the modern society. Furthermore, it describes art not only as a practical subject, but also as a verbal and community-orientated subject. Because of sparse and dated research, the subject of art is in danger of marginalization as a school subject. The purpose of this study is to illustrate art teachers? conception of the aim of the subject of art.

The purpose of this paper is to analyse, identify and clarify:- The integration of music and brands in commercials that are created for television, cinema or internet,- The effects that this integration has for the involved parties and the movie that is being created.Music is a big part of today's society and advertising is a big part of people's everyday lives. It is therefore natural that music in advertising can have the power to affect, attract, influence and interest human beings. We think that the music in commercials is a fascinating subject to study because the phenomenon is relatively unexplored in the academic sphere. The knowledge of the synchronization process of music and commercials is also becoming increasingly important for involved parties to understand and manage. The essay is developed through a qualitative methodology.  We have conducted six interviews, with different players who all have extensive experience and knowledge about the chosen topic.

E-handelskunder vill ha möjlighet att handla snabbt och direkt oavsett tidpunkt eller plats. Därför är integration mellan e-handel och affärssystem viktigt för en lyckad e-handelslösning. Detta känner de flesta företag till och idag är inte tekniken något större problem. Att företag trots detta inte integrerar systemen beror på verksamhetsbaserade orsaker. De stora kostnader som integrationen i initialskedet medför anges också som ett skäl till att systemen inte integreras, kunskap saknas om de långsiktiga vinster som integrationen ger.

Idrottens förmåga att bidra med positiva effekter för integration är omdiskuterad.Det finns både de som har stora förhoppningar på idrotten som enintegrationsfrämjare och de som är mer skeptiska när det kommer till idrottens roll iintegrationsprocessen. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att undersöka idrottenspotential att integrera invandrare i samhället samt att undersöka vilka hinder somfinns för att idrott ska fungera integrationsfrämjande. Studien bygger på en analys av12 vetenskapliga artiklar som alla behandlar relationen mellan idrott och integration.Resultatet av denna litteraturstudie visar att idrott kan bidra med positiva effekter förintegration, bland annat genom att erbjuda en mötesplats där relationer kan byggasöver kulturella gränser. Resultaten visar dock även att idrottsrörelsen inte är fri frånde spänningar som finns i samhället i stort och det är därför orimligt att tro att idrottenpå egen hand ska kunna bidra till att människor känner sig integrerade i samhället..
