Title: Alexander Technique - Different thoughts on the Alexander Technique and its effect on the singing voice. Does singing lessons cause tension in the student? What should you as a teacher consider to avoid situations that cause tension? This examination is based on interviews. The persons who have been interviewed are singing students, singing teachers and teachers in the Alexander Technique. The literature and the interviews describe the Alexander Technique as a method that, with support of a teacher of the Alexander Technique, helps you to recreate the balance between the cranium, neck and spine.

Det har vuxit fram en ny identitet inom resekulturen, flashpackern, som har sitt ursprung i backpackerkulturen. Denna identitet skiljer sig dock från den traditionella backpackern på olika plan. Jag antog mig att följa flashpackern jorden runt vilket resulterade i en fältstudie.Syftet med denna undersökning är att diskutera identitetsförändringar inom resekultur, som sker när samhällets struktur förändras och en ny kontext uppstår.Uppsatsen inleds med en bakgrundsdel vars syfte är att ge en förståelse till terminologin. Här förklaras hur termen backpacker samt flashpacker och även eurocentrism och en nationell aspekt på backpacking. Den andra delen syftar till att ge en teoretisk förklaring till den förändrade samhällsstrukturen och en förändring i kontext som sker i Europa och Nordamerika.

Efter terrorattackerna mot USA den elfte september 2001 har Huntingtons tes att det förekommer ett globalt civilisationskrig fått tjäna som ett rättfärdigande av USA:s attacker och ockupationer av Afghanistan samt Irak.Följande studies syfte är att genomföra en kritisk läsning av Huntingtons bok utifrån den ideologikritiska metoden. My essay explores the public view on smoking in Sweden over the last few decades. I've studied how changes in social structures through media, laws, studies and education has brought about a change in the opinions about smoking. I found that even though there have always been different opinions on smoking it seems to have become less accepted in the Swedish society, particularly in the past twenty years. I discuss the different reason as to why (and how) the view on smoking might have changed the last decades amongst the Swedish people. Abstract (magisteruppsats, 61-80p)This paper is concerned with the national sentiments in the Federal State of Germany,regarding the east- and west-German cleavages, since the unification of the country in 1990.The point of departure is the nationalistic theory crafted together by the scholar AnthonyDavid Smith, which implies an ethno-symbolistic perspective on the dynamics of nations.The main question in the paper is to which extent you can consider the East- and WestGermans to be a unity, considering the past and the forty-year-division. For this reason theauthor basically uses two different sources: scientific books and the German journal DerSpiegel.Founded on Smith's theory, the study contains a broad explanation for national identities incontemporary states, which ranges from pre-modern times, when the ethnic communities werecreated, to the national world of today.The discontinuity of the German case, represented by the separation 1949-90 of the Germannation into two entirely different societies, makes it possible to draw conclusions about whichfactor that has the pivotal impact on national identities.The result turns out to be that the national historical core-values and symbols of the currentGerman state and nation are more profound than the splitting national sentiments. This study investigated the effect different contexts have on personality items when they are framed more neutrally. The study was based on a five-factor personality inventory originating from International Personality Item Pool. The inventory consisted of 50 original and 50 neutral personality items and in addition 28 items measuring social desirability. The sample consisted of 150 students from the Department of Psychology, Lund. The students were divided into three instruction groups differing in context.

Based on hermeneutic tradition, the goal of this thesis is to further my understanding of what the concept of resistance means in a psychoanalytical context today, primarily within clinical practice. My methodology has been to seek an understanding of the concept of resistance by reading excerpts from the original texts of Sigmund Freud, as well as conducting interviews with practicing psychoanalysts that focus on how they relate to the notion of resistance. The idea was to then present my understanding of these sources in relation to one another. The results suggest that an understanding of the concept of resistance in a clinical context is highlighted by a dichotomy between theory and practice..

Denna studie bearbetar hur vattenbrist i tredjevärldens storstäder kan innebära en ökad osäkerhet för individer. Genom att se till en breddad betydelse av det traditionella säkerhetsbegreppet är ambitionen med uppsatsen att visa på hur vattenbrist kan analyseras som en säkerhetsfråga och därigenom också öka förståelsen för många individers ökade osäkerhet i utvecklingsvärldens storstäder. För att göra detta har jag valt att använda mig av en teoriutvecklande metod, där fokus ligger på att bidra med kompletterande förklaringsfaktorer till mänsklig osäkerhet. Som komplement till mänsklig säkerhetsteori har jag valt att också lägga fokus på tre andra teorier: miljösäkerhet, utvecklingsteori och perspektivet om mänskliga rättigheter. Genom en kombination av dessa teorier anser jag att många nya och viktiga infallsvinklar, på såväl säkerhet som vattenbrist, kan komma fram och kanske också utmana gamla idéer och föreställningar..

In this essay, I have studied the image of the drug abusing mother and her motherhood as seen in some of the social science literature on drug abusing women. This I did with a qualitative research design and with the questions:How is the drug abusing mother and her motherhood portrayed by social scientists?What signification is her motherhood given in her life by the researchers?What approach towards the drug abusing mother in the research process, and hence in the creation of the images of her, does the scientists have?I found that there are distinct patterns and themes in the research on mothers with a drug abuse. The researchers studied the women with the goal to understand them and to give them the opportunity to speak for themselves through the researcher. The drug abusing mother is in short portrayed as a woman who cares for her children, whose motherhood is one of the most important factors in her life and who is anxious that her substance abuse should not threaten it.

The Swedish and Icelandic women's movements, the Support Stockings and the Women's Alliance both had the goal to change their nation's women politics. The goal was to increase the low representation of women in their parliaments and to highlight women issues on the political agenda. The essay shows that the most important reason behind the will to form a party, was a new issue being disregarded by existing parties, although there is a considerable interest concerning the issue amongst society. While a party was formed on Iceland the Swedish equivalence did not occur. Even though only one party was formed, both movements achieved the same results.

This study is performed as an Archive, Library and museum master?s thesis in two years studies. The overall aim is to investigate and analyze what the term Manga means in a library and information science context. The concept of Manga has different meanings depending on whether we start from a Japanese or a Swedish context. Manga is integrated in the Japanese society while Manga often is associated with youth culture or a separate genre in Sweden.

This study compares the sample variance of the mean in a simple random sample (SRS) and a systematic sample from a surface. The study also compares the prediction error variance in a SRS and systematic sample from a random field. Recommendations are presented on which method to use in the clearance and exemption process in the nuclear industry. The results indicate that quadratic systematic sampling outperformed SRS in most instances and proved to be especially efficient in the presence of a long-ranged covariance function and high sampling intensity (i.e. short distances between observations).

I jakten på läsare skruvas många tidningars tonläge upp. Aftonbladet och expressen är exempel på två tidningar med en relativt liten läsarandel prenumeranter och är tidningar vars intäkter i stor del kommer från lösnummerförsäljningen. På motsvarande sätt är Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet i större utsträckning beroende av sina prenumeranter, medan deras lösnummerandel näppeligen motsvarar Aftonbladets och Expressens. Kan man påvisa en mer dramtisk och i en mening mer förenklad nyhetsförmedling i lösnummerberoende tidningar än i prenumerationsberoende, utifrån ett antal konkreta påståenden? Med detta i åteanke, kan någon tydlig tendens skönjas under de senaste 50 åren? Detta är två frågor som uppsatsen ämnar besvara, samtidigt som frågorna problematriseras då de sätts i en demokratisk kontext.
