In 1996, the Swedish government deregulated the Swedish electricity market. As a consequence of the deregulation, Swedish customers could start to freely choose between different electricity companies. Different enterprises have tried various strategies in order to shape their image to attract new customers; often focusing on an image revolving around price and environmental friendliness.The purpose of this essay has been to analyze customers? relations to the electricity market. In order to analyze customers? relations a quantitative study has been conducted; focusing on customer satisfaction and customer commitment.

The public libraries in Sweden has an obligation to serve all of its citizens, but despite of this they often fail to include their LGBTQ-patrons. Since the year of 2008 RFSL (the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights) have arranged a specially designed certification-process based on normcritical criterias that a chosen institution should fulfill to make their work more inclusive for LGBTQ-people. Sollentuna is the first municipal in Sweden to certificate all of their libraries. This study aims to examine what the certification have meant for the public library in Sollentuna and how a normcritical view can contribute to include LGBTQ-patrons at the library. As a method we used a qualitative interview-study to get a full picture of the certification-process and its influence on the public library of Sollentuna.

This paper was part of the ongoing cooperation between the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority and the Department of Psychology at Lund University. The purpose of this study was to develop a self-report measure regarding human factors, for the air traffic controllers to fill out before they start their working shift. This in order to aid the team leaders in their judgment regarding the air traffic controller's ability to perform at the right safety level. The self-report measure would also serve as an aid for the air traffic controllers who have a responsibility regarding their own performance. If successful this self-report measure would make it easier for the air traffic controllers to be alert regarding certain factors that can have a large impact on their performance.

This thesis analyses how a radiology department at the largest hospital in Sweden, Karolinska University Hospital, most profitably could expand its capacity for investigating cancer patients using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The queues today for patients waiting to be scanned are long, which delays the start of cancer treatments. Meanwhile the hospital has a budget deficit of half a billion SEK, which make any expansion hard. In this thesis we evaluate the alternatives of investing in new machinery; utilize the current machinery better by using them more days annually or through a shift work system. Finally we evaluate a combination of these.

Studien har genomfo?rts pa? en kommunal arbetsrehabiliterande verksamhet som genomfo?rt ett trea?rigt ESF-projekt. Studien har genomfo?rts med hja?lp av en metodkombination besta?ende av semistrukturerade intervjuer, en deltagande observation samt dokument fra?n verksamheten och projektet.

Kiruna är idag mitt uppe i den process som kallas Kiruna stadsomvandling. Till följd av den utökade gruvbrytningen måste stora delar av staden omlokaliseras och ett nytt centrumområde byggas. Som start för denna process utlystes 2012 en arkitekttävling vars resultat kommer att ligga till grund för den nya stadsstrukturen. Inför tävlingen upprättades ett tävlingsprogram som beskriver hur Kiruna kommun ser på stadens framtid och utvecklingsmöjligheter. Kiruna kommun har i samband med denna process uttryckt vikten av att arbeta utifrån ett tydligt genusperspektiv för att skapa ett mer jämställt och långsiktigt hållbart samhälle.

In classic academic social studies of East Europe, terms as Communism and Post-Communism are commonly used to describe the main characteristics of this geographically imagined area. This paper makes a not so frequently seen attempt to apply Post Colonial Theory for the same field. With start point in Post Colonial theoretical writers, the author wants to find a East European Post Colonial version for the internal Europe which will supply tools for a discourse analysis of the European mind map divided into West and East. The material consists of interviews with three Swedish and three Czech officials, all working with European politics in their country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The analysis is carried out with inspiration of Ernesto Laclaus and Chantal Mouffes Discourse theory.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the subject matter of visual communication in presentation brochures of two Swedish regions: Region Halland and Region Dalarna. My focuses are the following questions: what is the aim of the brochures and in what ways does the visual material relate to that aim? How can strategic communication be defined through a visual perspective and in what ways is it useful in the context of presentation brochures of the regions? What sort of communicational functions are specific for the visual material in relation to the written language of the brochures? Lead by these questions, I start by analyzing the brochures through a textual analysis and a social semiotic approach. The result shows that the aim seems to be both political and commercial, but that the visual elements relate more strongly to the commercial aim than to the political aim by the way they strive to present a positive image of the region. The visual elements work in strategic ways that I define as visual strategies.

This essay studies how advertisements in various anti-smoking campaigns can influence and persuade by using anti-logos as counter-arguments to the tobacco industry's logos. In contrast to tobacco advertising arguments such as freedom (logos), pleasure (pathos) and trademark (ethos) the anti-smoking campaigns create anti-logos arguments with various connotations such as repulsive pictures and sexual implications to influence groups of people not to start smoking or to quit smoking.Advertisement of tobacco does not exist nowadays due to legal restrictions in the western world; however several decades of myths created in the consumer consciousness still exist. Thus one can speak of a tobacco advertising ideology that exists and the various anti-smoking campaigns trying to change that ideology.The purpose of anti-smoking campaigns is to conduct a kategoria of myth that tobacco advertisement has created over the years. Anti smoking organizations do this by creating a new ideology to affect consumer?s attitude toward smoking and the tobacco myth with an anti-myth.

När Windows Vista introducerades förändrades mappstrukturen för hur användarprofilen sparas jämfört med tidigare Windowsversioner såsom Windows XP. Denna rapport undersöker kompatibilitetsproblem med Roaming User Profiles mellan äldre och nyare versioner av operativsystemet. Syftet med rapporten var att utreda vilka problem som kan uppstå, vad det gäller Roaming User Profiles, vid en övergång från Windows XP till Windows Vista eller 7. Undersökningen genomfördes med hjälp av laborationer, litteratur och tester för att hitta problemen såväl som lösningar till dem. Resultatet visar att profiler skapade med Windows XP inte följer med till Windows Vista eller 7 utan det skapas sammanlagt två olika profiler, en för det äldre och en för det nyare operativsystemet.

Sinperioden är bra då den dels ökar mjölkavkastningen och dels är en period då infektioner kan läka ut. Det är dock en känslig period för kon då hon också är infektionskänslig och många nyinfektioner kan ske. Det är viktigt att ge kon en bra start på sinperioden genom att minska foder och mjölkning så att mjölkproduktionen avtar innan hon sinläggs helt, detta för att spenkanalen ska kunna sluta sig och juvret börja tillbakabildas. Kon ska under perioden hållas i en ren miljö, det är extra viktigt under de två första veckorna och i slutet när kalvning närmar sig då kon är mer infektionskänslig. Under sinperioden är det viktigt att ge en bra foderstat men man måste se upp så att kon inte blir fet då detta predisponerar för mastit. Sinperiodens längd verkar inte ha betydelse på juverhälsan.

Denna fallstudie avser att undersöka vilka behov användarna vid Kriminalvårdsverket har av att få de hjälpfunktioner som finns i verksamhetens applikationer samlade till en och samma plats. Definitioner om hur applikationer skall vara utformade för att uppnå god användbarhet förklaras, för att senare länkas ihop med det resultat som inkommit genom en utförd enkätundersökning av användarna i verksamheten. Resultatet av enkätundersökningen tillsammans med egna och andras teorier diskuteras i slutet av uppsatsen. Det visar sig att det centrala problem som finns i verksamheten inte är direkt knutet till att man samlar användarhjälpen på en och samma plats, utan verksamheten lider av stora organisatoriska problem såsom bristande utbildning i de olika programmiljöerna, skiftande kompetens och ovilja hos användarna att utnyttja de olika applikationerna som finns i verksamheten. I uppsatsen föreslås en rad konkreta punkter att tänka på, innan arbetet med att samla användarhjälp på en och samma plats kan påbörjas.

Blädningsbruk kan enbart bedrivas med sekundära trädslag i fullskiktade skogar. I Sverige är gran (Picea abies (L.) Karst) det dominerande trädslaget för denna form av skogsskötselsystem. Denna studie inriktade sig mot att analysera den volymproduktionsökning som under de senaste 53 åren ägt rum på Siljansfors försökspark, blädningsyta 9082. Data bearbetades och variablerna som huvudsakligen analyserades var diametertillväxt, stamantal samt medelhöjd.

The first part of this essay is about a single-family house that we have planned and projected. Thesecond part is a deeper study in ways to further insulate windows when they are not in use.In the first part the building?s design and its most important construction elements are described.The planning of all major installations (heating, domestic water, ventilation, sanitation, electricity)are reported so that one can in principle start construction of the house. In addition there arecalculations done on the building?s energy management.The result is a two stored house angled toward the south.
