In this master's thesis the problem of determining the uncertainty for an estimator of an unknown parameter is considered. The case we study is the estimation of gravity using a reversible pendulum. This involves the estimation of the point where two regression lines intersect. The estimated gravity is a function the coordinates of this point. One way to determine the uncertainty of this estimator is to use bootstrap methods.

Bakgrund och problem: Utvecklingen inom leasingområdet har ställt krav på normgivarnaatt utforma standarder för leasingredovisningen som följer med utvecklingen. De senasteåren har det uppmärksammats hur stor del av företagens leasade tillgångar som hamnarutanför balansräkningen. Problemet med dagens sätt att redovisa anses vara att företag kanutforma leasingavtal som leder till att de tillgångar och skulder som uppkommer i och medett leasingavtal inte aktiveras i balansräkningen. Detta påverkar jämförbarheten mellanföretag negativt. Amerikanska FASB och europeiska IASB bestämde i december 2006 att detillsammans skall utforma en ny standard för redovisning av leasingavtal.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att ge en förståelse för varför IASB valt att starta engrundläggande omarbetning av IAS 17 ?Leasingavtal?.

This master thesis deals with steel girders subjected to patch loading caused by concentrated moments. There exist no good methods to calculate by hand the ultimate resistance for this load case. In ?tunnplåtshandboken?, (Handbook for sheet metal, which is published by SSAB), one calculation method is presented. It?s however fairly difficult to use, because of many calculation steps and many graphs.

At the same time, our whole societyis faced with a great challenge: we need to redirect towards a sustainable development, wherethe environmental issues are discussed and dealt with to secure that all present and futuregenerations are given equal opportunities to live a good life.The aim of this study is to, focusing mainly on the environmental dimension of thesustainability concept, examine the attractivity of housing with sustainability claims. Toanswer this, three research questions were used:? Was the migration motive to reduce their environmental impact a part of the decision tomove, among migrants who had moved to housing with sustainability claims?? If the motive was a part of the decision, how much impact did it have compared to othermigration motives?? Which factors in housing aiming at sustainability are considered important by peopleliving in housing with sustainability claims?The research questions have been answered using quantitative data, gained in the form of selfadministeredquestionnaires which were distributed in four different residential areas withsustainability claims in the county of Västra Götaland, Sweden.

Nuvarande riktlinjer för hur man skall bedöma och klassificera risken för att skador skall uppstå då hand- armsystemet utsätts för vibrationer är baserade på en enkel frekvensviktningskurva. Problemet med dagens rådande standard är att den inte tar hänsyn till alla de faktorer som inverkar på risken med vibrerande handhållna verktyg, t.ex. påverkan av transienter i vibrationerna eller mängden energi som absorberas av hand- armsystemet. Ett annat problem med standarden är att karaktärisering utifrån den tenderar att bli metodoberoende beroende på vilken analysmetod som väljs. Ett sätt att ta hänsyn till fler av de bidragande faktorerna är att använda andra analysmetoder, än de som används i enlighet med rådande standard, som till exempel vibration power absorption eller analytisk wavelettransform.

BakgrundPå en intensivvårdsavdelning (IVA) vårdas patienter med akuta, livshotande sjukdomar. Patienterna utgör en del i en familj och deras sjukdomstillstånd blir en angelägenhet som påverkar hela familjen emotionellt. Närstående till kritiskt sjuka patienter är ofta djupt oroade över sina anhöriga och ibland är intensivvårdsavdelningen deras första kontakt med sjukvården. Sjukvårdspersonal är den yrkeskategori som oftast kommer i kontakt med krisdrabbade och då främst i deras akuta chockfas. Vårdpersonalens bemötande i dessa situationer har betydelse för att minska risken för framtida psykisk ohälsa hos krisdrabbade närstående.

This paper examines constructions of identities in Swedish news paper articles concerning the European Unions?s Tobacco Products Directive. Using critical discourse analysis (CDA) supported by theories of discourse, semiotics and identity formation, this paper argues that constructions of a Swedish ?Us? are distinguished from a non-Swedish ?Them?. These constructions depends on categories such as use of tobacco, science, history and war, which are frequently used in the discourse to separate ?Us?, ?the good? from ?Them?, ?the bad?.

        This is a report that describes the entire process of design of a measuring station for rolling resistance. The report is structured with elements of Fredy Olsson's method.The report also includes a brief presentation of HGF, the company that will manufacture the machine. Requirements and preferences are set up and used in a weighting of criteria by which product suggestions are based. These suggestions are used in the evaluation to produce a final draft product. Solutions to major functions are produced by criteria?s. School can be an effective environment for achieving a more equal health among children and adolescents, since many individuals can be reached by the health promoting work in the school. In the year of 2000 a project in Skåne was started for the development of health promoting schools. The health promoting projects however, have shown to be of short duration. So, as an alternative, the integration of the health in school ought to be tried. The aim of this study is to give examples how health promoting schools can strengthen their profile.

Where is technology heading? And how will our behaviors towards these new innovations look? This project questions the direction of ?beyond smart? products, through scenarios within our everyday life. The work is both critical and speculative. Speculative in the sense that it is speculating in how a future scenario with ?beyond smart? products would look like.

Background: Sexual addiction has been given a dominant discoursive power in Sweden which (re)inforces the idea that sexuality is essentially a dangerous and lethal force. Methods: The thesis consists of two sub studies. Firstly, a critical discourse analysis is conducted over scientifical articles of sexual addiction and sexual compulsivity. Secondly, a critical discourse analysis of the concept of sexual addiction in newspapers in Sweden?s largest newspaper, DN, and an evening paper, Aftonbladet.
