Matematiken handlar i mångt och mycket om att lösa problem och se mönster. Talmönster är en viktig del inom algebran och aritmetiken och är det fenomen som jag i denna studie vill undersöka elevers uppfattningar av. Syftet med föreliggande kvalitativa studie är att skapa kunskap om elevers skilda sätt att erfara talmönster, såväl talföljder som visuella talmönster. Därutöver syftar studien till att identifiera kritiska aspekter utifrån de skilda sätt som talmönstren erfars av eleverna.Nio elever i årskurs 3 och 4 har intervjuats utifrån ett antal talmönster. Fenomenografin och variationsteorin utgör studiens teoretiska utgångspunkter och har använts för att analysera materialet.

In this thesis we calculate the Hawking mass numerically for surfaces in Kerr spacetime. The Hawking mass is a useful tool for proving the Penrose inequality and the result does not contradict the inequality. It also does not contradict the assumption that the Hawking mass should be monotonic for surfaces in Kerr spacetime. The Hawking mass is quasi-local and defined by the Spin coefficents of Newman and Penrose, so first we give a discussion about quasi-local quantities and then a short description of the Newman-Penrose formalism..

According to the study [1] several firefighters are killed in action each year. This happens naturally in various ways. One of the major factors is that firefighters often do not know how the environment looks like, for example that a building in an industrial area contains hazardous gas cylinders. Without a solution, fire-fighters will continue to die in duty. It is therefore important to solve this problem so that we can minimize the risks and save lives.The goal of this project was a control system for pneumatic artificial muscles.

Aim With this study we want to highlight and analyze the media Spin of the PR campaign Miss Skinny by clarifying; a diffusion pattern which covers posts published by bloggers and journalists; a framing pattern from the first audited post to the last; how journalists are influenced by user generated content, and what consequences this may have for the news coverage.Method We have conducted a studied of news posts and blog posts about the Swedish PR campaign Miss Skinny through content analysis, diffusion analysis and mapped direct links between blog posts and news posts.Main result We found that a surprisingly large amount of news postings contained direct links to previous blog posts and that the former media serial no longer can be applied on today's modern media where journalists and other players come together on the converged media arena. .

This is a hermeneutic study that analyzes and discusses whether it is possible to find Christian ethics in the TV-series Beverly Hills 90210 (1990) and the Spin-off 90210 (2008) and how they differ in the preparation of these. I also aim to, based on my research, illustrate the discussion of Christian ethics in the curriculum and why we need a multicultural education.I have chosen three episode of both TV-series and I divided each episode into different themes, each theme is a phenomenon that I perceive to be a part of a Christian ethical position. Then I argue, using the theologian Stanley Hauerwas, these themes really can relate to what may be perceived as Christian ethics. In order to discuss how Christian ethics and secular ideals are connected I find the theory of secularization usefull. The results I came upwith is that I find a theme in each episode which I percieve to be a part of a Christian ethical position.

Syftet med undersökningen var att ta reda på hur webbplatsen Newsmill påverkat det svenska debattklimatet på internet. Studien har genomförts genom att intervjua personer verksamma inom media. Bakgrunden till denna undersökning har varit att internet alltmer intagit den roll papperstidningarna förut hade. Numera är det i debattforum på nätet de offentliga samtalen äger rum. Intervjuerna har genomförts med fyra personer med nära anknytning till den sortens publicistik som bedrivs av Newsmill.

This Master Thesis has been carried out in cooperation with Ursus Medical AB (URSUS) which markets, assembles and sells the Rotex Screw Needle Biopsy Instrument ®. The instrument is delivered with an instrument holder. Customers had expressed dissatisfaction over that they needed to use two hands during a biopsy procedure, which resulted in a project to develop a new instrument holder.The project aim was to create concepts for how the new instrument holder should be designed, with focus on the mechanics. The new instrument holder would build on the existing basic principle that the screw needle and the cannula were screwed into the tissue. The thesis work would result in a technical solution and a functional prototype of the chosen concept.To achieve this, a generic product development processes were used and began with a comprehensive literature review.

My essay is an attempt to describe how complicated it can be to follow the rules and maintain boundaries without obstructing the children in their creative development. The aim is to highlight my approach and emphasize the importance of growing up in a kindergarten with standards and values which may not always coincide with their own opinion.I begin my essay with two stories about Emil five years, defying the rule of not climb up the climbing frame roof and Emma for three years, who are keen to Spin on the swing, but followour rule and refrain. I wonder what it is that drives some kids to go against the rules and stretch the limits while others do not have any problem doing that we decided? I also tell about the time I as a newly-qualified nanny was rebuked by a colleague when I acted "recklessly". I would handle the situation differently today? In the last story, I praise a child for being "mischievous", which makes me proud.

AbstractThe aim of this essay is to understand the view of man as a creature in the Norse culture by studying rituals and ritual actions in conjunction with homicide. The material on which the study is based is called the Icelandic sagas, which are important source of information to the Norse culture. To achieve the purpose, I used a qualitative content analysis and qualitative narrative analysis along with ritual theories based on Roy A Rappaport among others. The questions are for instance:- What ritual actions occur in connection with the homicide, according to the Icelandic sagas? - What are the differences in how individuals are treated in passages where the ritual actions in relation to homicide and homicide cases investigated and why?The results show four different types of ritual acts in relation to homicide.

I fo?religgande studie presenteras fo?rklaringsmodeller till SAD med fokus pa? temperamentsforskning och reinforcement sensitivity theory (RST). Syftet var att genom explorativ faktoranalys identifiera latenta variabler i fra?geformula?ret ?Hur man var som barn? (HMVSB), som administrerats i en klinisk population (n= 100) och i en kontrollgrupp (n= 246).

Syftet med denna magisteruppsats är att undersöka Stockholmsbörsens reaktion i samband med företagens kungörelser av börsavknoppningar enligt Lex Asea. För detta ändamål genomfördes en eventstudie för alla företag som har kungjort deras avknoppningsplaner mellan åren 2000 och 2005. Undersökningspopulationen för denna studie uppgick till 23 företag som sammantaget gjort 25 kungörelser under den studerade perioden. För beräkning av eventuella abnormala avkastningar användes marknadsmodellen, med uppskattningar baserade på den historiska utvecklingen hos OMX SPI ?indexet och hos de berörda aktierna.

Bloggar kan avgöra valet 2006, kunde man läsa på DN:s kultursidor. Bloggar har fått sitt definitiva genombrott i Sverige och förespråkarna talar om en demokratisering av medierna. Och en del menar till och med att om man vill känna sig välinformerad och "med i sin tid" uppfattas man sannolikt inte som särskilt trovärdig om man inte har grundläggande kunskaper om, och/eller kan ge prov på viktiga bloggar. Uppsatsens syfte är att se om, och i så fall vilken betydelse bloggar har på den offentliga debatten, när det gäller opinionsbildning och i förlängningen vilken betydelse de kan få inför valet år 2006. Och för att se om just dessa bloggar är de mest betydelsefulla har jag valt att undersöka i vilken omfattning dessa förekommer på de två största ledarsidorna i svensk morgonpress - nämligen Dagens Nyheters (DN) och Svenska Dagbladets (SvD) ledarsidor.

This diploma work was performed at the department for radiation physics at the Health University in Linköping. Its aim was to develop a method to retrospectively quantify the absorbed dose in coral. Coral is a material which suites well as a retrospective dosimeter because when exposed to radioactivity its induced free radicals are stable in time. The number of radicals is proportional to the accumulated dose so the dose can be calculated by quantifying the radicals. Therefore, coral can tell us something about the past environment and also be used in dating purposes.A young, modern coral from the Red Sea was studied and also a fossil one which I was given from the Natural History Museum in Stockholm.

This thesis investigates the socio- and environmental economic effects of a deep repository for spent nuclear fuel in Forsmark in the municipality of Östhammar. I seek to show the general picture but focus on the effects on employment, environment and income. Cost-benefit analysis is used to investigate the differences in utility between a scenario with and a scenario without a deep repository in Forsmark. Most of the possible effects can not be valued and many can not even be quantified with the data available today. Therefore this thesis has a bit of a ?preliminary study character? and seeks to show what we know today and what needs to be further investigated when available data allow it. The costs that could be valued are noise from the traffic during the period of building and emissions of carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides from the transportation of rock masses during the building period.
