I arbetet med att ta fram en detaljplan medverkar flera olika aktörer med olika intressen. En stor del av dagens detaljplanering görs med initiativ från privata byggherrar som ofta är aktiva i arbetet med att ta fram den aktuella detaljplanen. En aktiv byggherre har större möjlighet att påverka planens utformning och kan i vissa fall även påverka processen. Denna påverkan kan ha olika omfattning och kan ha både en positiv och en negativ inverkan. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka på vilket sätt en aktiv byggherre kan påverka en detaljplans bestämmelser och utformning. Det är lätt att anta att en detaljplan påverkas av en aktiv byggherre, men det finns inga studier som visar hur denna påverkan ser ut.

The purpose of this study was to describe how women with fibromyalgia experienced their quality of life. The method used was a literature study with a descriptive design. The search for scientific articles was done by the databases Academic Search Elite, CINAHL, Medline via PubMed and Cohrane Library. The articles were quality-tested and the content studied, resulting in four categories as follows. Research involving the physical aspects of the quality of life showed that sleeplessness, tiredness and pain was commonly occurring symptoms in women?s daily life which affected their life-situation.

In 2006, Stora Enso Skog implemented an education program in water management for harvester operators, timber purchasers, cut block planners and supervisors. The focus of the program was creating stream crossings with minimal harm to the stream and the surrounding riparian area. This main purpose of this study was to determine the difference in work procedures before and after participating in the program. The methodology consisted of field studies and interviews with harvester operators and their supervisors. The field study looked at how the streams had been crossed concerning the number of crossings, visible damage to the stream and/or the riparian area made by the machines. Biological parameters such as the width and dept of the stream and amount of large woody debris in the stream were also measured. The field result from 30 harvesting sites showed no significant difference between sites that had been harvested before or after the education program. But the harvester operators and their supervisors experienced an increased concern for watersheds after the educational program.

What causes people to move within and between certain places and not within and between others? How do physical outdoor environments affect the way people act and move? Do different environments generate different body language and mimics in the bodies that inhabit them? In my pursuit for answers to these questions I studied literature and initiated and took part in dialogues in the form of workshops, all of which has resulted into this thesis. My questions have initially arisen from reflections of my own environment and how it not only affects my mental condition, but also my actions. Drawing upon the hermeneutic term ?preconception? I trust that what we label ?truth? is constructed by our lived experience and the society we grow up in.

By exploring different forms of urban cultivation and looking into future gains of sustainability, I want to focus on unconventional and perhaps necessary ways of building, living and making a living. This will be made through study of literature on the topic.Urban cultivation could be anything from a pot of basil in the kitchen window to a city farm. The core of the concept is that the food is produced where it is eaten, in or in direct vicinity to the city and that it is produced ecologically. There will be many benefits, ecological, economical and social.The world is at a turning point right now where consumption patterns and the industry processed food are questioned and it is important that the things we consume are genuineand authentic. We want food that is locally and ecologically produced; food that we can trust.

The aim of this study is to examine the services offered by the public libraries in the context of distance learning students. I wanted to examine if there has been any discussion among the public libraries on how the new needs and demands affect them. To get a premonition on the development in Sweden I have focused on the public libraries in the province of Blekinge, which in many ways can be looked upon as precursors. Interviews have taken place with the distance learning students contacts at the local public libraries, the responsible librarian and a distance learning organiser at the local university college, the county library consultant and one of the chief librarians. I have reached the conclusion that no thorough discussion on the far-reaching aspects has taken place.

Tranås är en mindre kommun belägen i norra Småland. Invånarantalet i hela kommunen uppgår till cirka 18 000 och 14 000 av dessa bor i Tranås tätort. Kommunen har många fördelar, som till exempel dess geografiska läge vid sjön Sommen, den vackra och viktiga attraktionspunkten Storgatan och de goda kommunikationerna norrut. När kommunikationer förs på tal i kommunen är det oundvikligt att inte nämna Södra stambanan som sträcker sig genom Tranås kommun och Tranås tätort och anses vara av stor betydelse för kommunens framtida utveckling. Varje dag passeras Tranås av 121 tåg av vilka 70 utgörs av persontåg. Hastigheten som tågen håller är hög, uppemot 180 km/h, vilket gör att man som passagerare inte uppehåller sig i Tranås särskilt länge.

Examensarbetet har utförts under våren 1998 på Mandator Teknik. Bakgrunden till arbetet är att Mandator vill undersöka om möjligheten finns att hantera diverse GIS-funktionalitet i en modul. GIS-modulen ska i första hand kunna användas för analys av bästa vägval och siktanalys. I examensarbetet ingår också en studie av befintliga GIS-verktyg på marknaden. Målet för studien är att finna den/de produkter som lämpar sig bäst för geografisk analys av bästa vägval och siktanalys.

User participation in the planning process of renewing the yards of existing residential areas was introduced in Sweden in the 1970s. It arose as a solution to many of the problems which became common in the residential areas built within the Swedish million program. The aim with the million program was to build one million homes within ten years. The same year as the million program was completed, in 1975, government subsidies to improve the residential yards were introduced. One of the conditions to get the subsidies was that the residents had to be involved in the planning process.

The way we design our cities today will affect the living conditions for future generations. Planning as a discipline can become crucial to attain a sustainable urban development with an increased quality of life among the urban population and an improved environment. Urban Agriculture in the Sustainable City -a case study in Managua is a Diploma Work that deal with poverty issues, aspects of sustainability and development work. We have had a theoretical starting-point, but our focus has been on the case study i.e. the practical part, that we carried out in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. Today about half of the worlds 6,3 billion people live in cities. The demographic growth of the countryside has declined, while the population in the cities is considerably increasing.

This thesis examines how teachers in physical education work with gender and gender roles in two religious schools in Stockholm. My main research questions were how the teachers relate to gender roles, if they think of gender when planning the lessons and do the boys or the girls get more attention from the teacher, if so, how do they get it?This study is based on interviews and observations, which makes it a qualitative study. I takt med att besökare och patienter ökar måste kontinuerligt Östra sjukhuset verksamhet utvecklas. Detta medför omläggningar i trafiken och förflyttningar av verksamheter. Idag finns flertalet brister kring Östra sjukhusets fysiska planering som behöver ses över, dessa är bland annat trafikflöden, säkerhetsaspekter och parkeringsmöjligheter.Rapporten redogör för förändringar i den fysiska planeringen som förbättrar dess utformning. Genom studier av relevant litteratur och diskussioner med expertis har förslag av problemområden tagits fram. Dessa har sedan bedömts efter listor av deras respektive för- och nackdelar som kunnat urskiljas.Arbetet visar framtagandet av ett väl fungerande förslag som kan verka som en bas för idéer till nutida och framtida förändringar kring den fysiska planeringen.

This Master's thesis examines segregation between Swedes and immigrants in school, and more specifically segregation between the two elementary schools Vikingaskolan and Tunaskolan in Lund. This case provides a particularly interesting puzzle, since Lund doesn?t have any pronounced immigrant districts, and was also recognized nationally as best municipality for its schools (2004). In this thesis we try to understand the segregation between the two schools in Lund as an implementation dilemma.The theoretical framework applies a model designed by Lennart Lundquist, which includes three potential causes for implementation problems: the implementer doesn?t understand the decision, the implementer can?t apply the decision, the implementer doesn?t want to carry out the decision.

Mitt i Sjuhäradsbygden ligger staden Borås, i ett kuperat och sjörikt skogslandskap genomflutet av Viskan. Viskan flyter genom Borås och delar staden utan att det egentligen märks. De båda sidornas olikheter möts kring vattenrummet. Den strukturerade och stadsmässiga rutnätstaden med anor från 1600-talet på ena sidan Viskan och den mer uppluckrade och storskaliga industrilandskapet som växt fram under expansionsåren, Borås var Sveriges snabbats växande stad mellan 1890-1930, på den andra sidan årummet. Viskans anonymitet är påtaglig, beskrivningar av Viskan som att den skär genom staden utan att den märks är påvisande.

This thesis is based on design theory about how to build an application for the mobile platform, a scientific analysis and an application for grocery shopping and meal planning. The thesis also contains a valuation of the research and of the application. The valuation of the application was done by a usability test and an analysis of the results of the test.The application of the thesis has an easy navigation system, which is time saving and simple to use. Finding recipes with the associated ingredients is a quick fix. The search function can be used for searching freely after recipes as well as for separate ingredients. That makes it possible for the user to create own recipes from available ingredients.
