BackgroundToday a common approach to solve a complicated problem is to assemble a temporary workforce in order to solve the problem by working together within a project. One of the difficulties with working in projects is to maintain the planned budget. Working hours and costs are often exceeded. Many companies presume that any certain project will succeed, a presumption that leads companies not to anticipate risks involved in a project. In companies today there is seldom time for evaluation or moderation of a project, in order to have time for evaluation there is a great need for an adequate planning of the project.IntentThe intention with this study is to create a model for planning, budgeting and evaluation of projects within consultancy companies.MethodWith the help of interviews and discussions within the group Hamnar och Byggkonstruktioner at Sweco has evidence to present a proposal on planning, budgeting and monitoring been developed.ResultsA model has been developed to ease for consultancy companies to plan, budget, monitor and evaluate projects.

Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att studera möjligheterna att förbättra kollektivtrafiken mellan Bengtsfors kommun och Trestadsregionen (Vänersborg, Trollhättan och Uddevalla) så att den blir attraktivare för arbetspendling både på kort och längre sikt. Tanken är att examensarbetet skall utgöra en del av ett beslutsunderlag för den framtida kollektivtrafikutvecklingen då den utgör ett viktigt verktyg för att ge människor större möjligheter att bo kvar i Bengtsfors genom att erbjuda bättre förutsättningar att ta ett arbete på annan ort. Restiderna mellan Bengtsfors och Trestadsregionen är idag allt för långa för att vara attraktiva för arbetspendling. Bengtsfors kommun har de senaste tio åren genomgått omfattande förändringar i näringslivet, som inneburit att mer än 1200 arbetstillfällen försvunnit från ett fåtal stora tillverkningsindustrier. Det är därför angeläget att bromsa utflyttningen från kommunen.

Swedish libraries are currently discussing andimplementing the classification system Dewey (DDC).Most libraries in Sweden have used the Swedishclassification system SAB until recently. In 2008 TheRoyal Library of Sweden (KB) decided to switch fromSAB to DDC. Many academic libraries chose to followKB?s example and by January 2011 a switch was made atKB and at many academic libraries.The aim of this master thesis is to examine and analysethe library sector?s discussion that occurred before andduring the Swedish switch from SAB to DDC. The mainquestion asked is; What is being discussed about Dewey2010-2011 and in what manner? To organize and anlysethis discussion discourse analysis is used.

Arbetet för ett mer jämställt samhälle, och hur detta kan uppnås genom den fysiska planeringen, är högst intressant och ett ständigt aktuellt ämne att debattera. Det har tidigare påvisats att behandlingen av jämställdhet i den kommunala översiktsplanen är milt uttryckt, otillfredsställande. Frågan är om det fortfarande finns tendenser att arbetet för ett ökat jämställt samhälle inte behandlas på ett tillfredsställande sätt i den översiktliga planeringen, eller om detta är något kommunerna i landet har ändrat på? Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är inte att explicit svara på dessa ovanstående frågor, utan ligger i att finna ett antal ?analysverktyg? för att undersöka hur ett urval av översiktsplaner behandlar jämställdhet. Kunskap om genus och människors vardagsliv är viktiga aspekter i arbetet mot ett ökat jämställt samhälle. Det är därför begreppen jämställdhet, vardagslivsperspektiv och genus som kommer genomsyra analysen av de utvalda översiktsplanerna. Analysdelen behandlar översiktsplanerna var och en genom kortare beskrivningar över hur respektive kommun resonerar i olika frågor, och en analys utifrån en jämställdhetsaspekt belyser avsiktliga eller oavsiktliga konsekvenser av detta. Avslutningsvis kommer arbetets frågeställning besvaras och en diskussion föras kring huruvida behandlingen av jämställdhet i de kommunala översiktsplanerna kan anses vara bra eller inte utifrån det forskningsunderlag som studerats..

Due to an increased population in cities the need of densification of cities increases. This means that the amount of ecological elements in the city is at risk of decreasing. Ecological services contribute to the city?s climate by softening the negative impacts that densification of cities means. Thus increases the will and ambition in city planning in to preserve greenery.This is an interdisciplinary thesis within the subject of geography that studies Biotope Area Factor (BAF), a planning tool that is used in city planning with the purpose of compensating for lost ecological services associated with new housing estate.

The vizualisation and creating of places is an essential part of physical planning. The notion of places as placeless, is likewise of importance for the creating of places. Some tendencies concerning architecture like modernism, as well as constructions whome don´t fit in their landscape, have contributed to the benaming and experience of places as placeless. Phenomenon as globalization and post-industrialism have in some cases conduced to the withering of the sense of place. With starting-point in litteraturestudies, observations of places and interviews, this is a lucubration concerning the means of placelessness in physical planning.

Syftet med arbetet är att studera och analysera det offentliga rummet, hur möten mellan människor uppstår och vad rummet används till. Kandidatarbetet belyser begreppet offentligt rum och vad detta har inneburit och vad det innebär i nutid. Arbetet belyser även teorier om vad ett offentligt rum innehåller för aktiviteter och vad rummet bör innehålla för att locka till sig människor. Arbetet resulterar i ett gestaltningsprogram för Deltavägen på Backaplan i Göteborg, där fokus ligger på strukturen av gaturummet och de offentliga ytorna längs gatan. Arbetet baseras på litteraturstudier samt inventeringar av två gator och dess offentliga platser i Göteborg. Arbetet inleds med en beskrivning av det offentliga rummet och dess innebörd.

Several cities have implemented various projects to improve traffic safety in city centers.During 1970s and 1980s the city centers changed as the suburbs grew and large shopping centers were located outside the center. At the same time, several projects were initiated with construction of pedestrian streets and restriction of traffic in the center. In year 1994,shared-used areas were introduced in Sweden and these areas are often used in center environments.In Sweden, municipalities are responsible for integrating security in public places and in comprehensive plans and detailed development plans. The National Board of Housing,Building and Planning is the authority for administrating planning issues and develop general guidance about planning. Traffic is one of their key issues, although today there are no concrete guidelines from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planningfor the design of traffic safety in city centers.Traffic safety in city centers affects many people because the city center is a public place.It is therefore important that there are current guidelines available that are helpful for changes and improvements in traffic safety in the city center.The purpose of this report is to formulate guidelines for planning city centers from a traffic safety perspective.

Throughout the history, the theories which have shaped our cities have varied from time to time. We have gone from a city development characterized by spontaneousness, where commerce and people side by side shared the space, into a function-based planning where people and functions are being increasingly separated. Regardless the forms of planning the city design causes implications for those who live there when the physical environment controls were we live, work and meet. In today's society where `sustainability ' has become a watchword the current community planning needs to be questioned so we, in the best possible way, can meet future changes. Searching for new planning strategies is part of this and in this essay the term `mixed-use´ will be investigated and analyzed in terms of its social aspects.

I uppsatsen studeras den kommunikativa planeringsteorin utifrån en utgångspunkt om att den inbegriper en inbyggd konflikt i att å ena sidan syfta till att skapa ett mer rättvist och demokratiskt samhälle, samtidigt som flera problemområden identifierats vilka hindrar deltagandeprocesser att uppnå detta mål. Genom att studera en detaljplaneprocess i Biskopsgården i Göteborg där stadsbyggnadskontoret själva valt att engagera en medborgargrupp, syftar uppsatsen till att skapa en djupare förståelse för hur den kommunala planprocessen kan arbeta med frågor om inkludering, konsensus, lokal demokrati och legitimitet. Den för studien aktuella medborgargruppen har fått ett relativt gott genomslag för sina förslag i planprocessen. Uppsatsen menar dock att detta inte främst beror på den detaljplaneprocess som dialogarbetet genomfördes i, utan snarare för att även andra planeringsnivåer varit förmögna att införliva gruppens förslag i sina respektive processer. Grunden till detta är att vidden av deltagandegruppens perspektiv på stadsdelens utveckling övergår detaljplaneprocessens möjlighet till utvecklingsarbete. Vad gäller undersökningen av uppsatsens värdeladdade begrepp, kan den aktuella medborgardeltagandeprocessen anses ha uppnått en relativt hög grad av inkludering i sina praktiker.

Detta examensarbete är en utredande uppsats som behandlar och jämför medborgardeltagandet i två stora infrastrukturprojekt, Citytunneln i Malmö och Citybanan i Stockholm. Demokratiseringen av Sverige tillsammans med medborgardeltagandets utveckling har förändrat synen på samhällsplaneringen under 1900-talet. Den strikta rationella planeringen har med tiden utvecklats mot att i allt högre grad engagera både enskilda medborgare och privata aktörer i planeringsarbetet. Politikernas och planerarnas sätt att arbeta med medborgardeltagande har därmed behövt anpassas till de nya förhållningssätten och kraven medborgarna ställer. Den historiska framväxten tillsammans med ett antal planeringsteorier och demokratimodeller är uppsatsens utgångspunkter.

It has become increasingly common for a city or region to use sporting and media events to promote themselves. But what is behind these events? What kind of organisation is necessary to plan and run them? In the summer of 2009 the internationally known Volvo Ocean Race will arrive in Stockholm. The race is eight months long and will be hosted in Stockholm for almost the whole of June. The City of Stockholm is behind the event and Stockholm?s marinas will be responsible for making sure that everything runs smoothly and on schedule.

Urban planning is not only a matter of architectural trends; it is first and foremost political. This thesis seeks to understand the links between political ideas and visions for the city and the physical structure of the city. The study aims to construct a model to help understand these links, a helpful tool in analysing a city, focusing on the one hand at the physical structure of what I call "The City as a Welfare Provider" and on the other hand at "The City as a Growth Engine". It also sets out to test this model in an empirical study of Stockholm and the soon-to-be built district of Norra Station in the same city.The analysis shows that Stockholm has ambitions to be a welfare provider to its citizens, but have also adopted to a discourse of interurban competition which stresses the importance for the city to enhance economical growth. What is interesting is that the physical structures promoted in the planning documents of Stockholm are nearly exclusively those associated with the model of "The City as a Growth Engine"..

The aim of this study is to analyze how intercommunication between offenders are presented with artefacts during the planning and implementation of a robbery in a cash depot in Stockholm. The methodological approach is based on empiricism from police investigation protocols, which leads this study to a case study. The ambition is to analyze the empirical material from a sociocultural perspective. The results shows that the offenders use artefacts to plan the crime with artefacts within an internal intercommunication between the offenders. After the planning artefacts such as a helicopter, explosive material, telephones, saws and ladders have been used in an intercommunication to implement the robbery which leads to an analysis that hierarchy depends on the role of the artefacts, only when technical artefacts are included in the term of hierarchy..
