The practice of landscape architectural involves forming the space in our cities and suburbs, as well as the landscape surrounding. The need of exploiting green environment leads up to, among other issues, flood problem during heavy rain and overfed water environments. The problem is partially caused by the shortage of knowledge, how the environment is responding of the innovations made by the city- urban planning and how to get sustainability. Research and knowledge how to take care of our environment, in a natural way, is increasing. The object of the thesis is to propose control and balance in urban wetlands, and discuss the difference a plant design can do. The thesis deals with discourses in the field of landscape architecture, biological diversity, dam construction, limnology, planting design and management, pollution of the environment and urban design practice.

Det är en svensk ambition att folkhälsan ges större utrymme i samhällsplaneringen. Dock finns i dagsläget inga lagstadgade krav eller tydliga riktlinjer kring hur folkhälsoaspekter ska integreras i fysisk planering. En stor del av ansvaret för att uppfylla denna ambition hamnar på de svenska kommunerna och det är i dessa som de svåra avvägningarna mellan olika intressen måste göras. Syftet med denna studie är att studera vilka hinder och möjligheter som finns med att integrera folkhälsoaspekter i planering och utformning av den kommunala fysiska miljön.Denna studie är utformad som en fallstudie där en svensk kommun har studerats med hjälp av intervjuer och dokumentanalyser. Resultaten från denna studie visar att konflikter med miljömässiga och ekonomiska värden är ett hinder när folkhälsoaspekter ska integreras i kommunal samhällsplanering.

The requirements for operative planning activities are increasing. The forest industry wants to gain better control over wood flow. A felling that is more market adjusted is desirable. However, this causes problems in the operative planning process because of the data collection methods used today. Data about timber assortments and data about the distribution of the tree diameter, etc., are often lacking. Airborne laser scanning is used to a greater extent than before for estimation of forest variables and should perhaps be used to the same extent in operative planning activities as well.

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningarSyftet med studien har varit att undersöka relationen mellan multipla intelligenser och skolans friluftslivsundervisning. Frågeställningarna har varit:Vilka intelligenser utvecklas inom skolans friluftslivsundervisning, enligt lärare och elever?Genom vilka moment i friluftslivsundervisningen utvecklas intelligenserna?MetodDatainsamlingen har skett genom ostrukturerade, djupgående intervjuer. Två lärare och två tredjeårselever på gymnasiet har enskilt intervjuats om hur friluftsliv har bedrivits i skolundervisningen. Intervjuerna har analyserats med ett schema, byggt på Howard Gardners teori om de multipla intelligenserna men utformats att tillämpas på friluftsliv.ResultatResultaten visar att paddling stimulerar interpersonell, kroppslig, visuell-spatial och logisk-matematisk intelligens.

People who live in northern part of the world spend much more time indoors than those who live in warmer countries. In addition that home should be safe, it should also protect one against heat, cold, sunlight and pollution. The indoor environment is affected by installations, material and how the building is formed. Those anomalies that are visible, felt or smelled can be noticed and be rectified. But it?s much more difficult if these abilities are missing.

The major environmental problems that we have today are frequently mentioned in the media today. One example is the ongoing debate regarding global warming and its causes and consequences. There are also several other problems in our society such as segregation and social tensions. Most agree that we must do something to solve these problems and that we must try to achieve a sustainable development for the entire planet. But how should it actually be done and what trade-offs, compromises, sacrifices and changes must be made?The purpose of this paper is to examine how these issues are being dealt with in Swedish city planning.

Sverige har genomgått en strukturomvandling inom stadsplaneringen, från att vara ett samhälle där främsta transportmedlet skedde med muskelkraft till att bli ett samhälle där bilen dominerar stadsrummen. Att behöva dela yta med alla trafikslag kan tänkas skapa en otrygg upplevelse för såväl fotgängare, cyklister som bilister. Idag är det självklara valet av transportmedel bilen i många fall, vilket i sin tur kan leda till att man blir bekväm och man behöver inte längre röra sig allt för mycket för att ta sig någonstans. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka förutsättningar för cykeltrafik i stadskärnor. Uppsatsen kommer att utreda planeringsprinciper och riktlinjer som uppmuntrar rörelse med muskelkraft i staden. Hälsa är en central del i arbetet och utgår från hur fysisk aktivitet påverkar kroppen.

In agricultural educations you learn to use different economic planning tools, as basis for decision. The purpose and goal of this work has been to find out if economic planning tools are used by the farmers in Sweden. We choose to do an investigation through personal interviews, and used an inquiry to get as equivalent answers as possible from the farmers. This work contains a literature study with relevant facts about the questions that is brought up in the inquiry. This study of literature explains shortly some different calculation methods and bases for decision. It also contains useable information that is important to know before an investment. The questions that are asked to the farmers have focused on the use of calculation methods and economical planning tools.

Gävle Strand är ett bostadsområde under uppbyggnad på halvön Alderholmen öster om Gävle centrum. Med närheten till havet, Gavleån, centralstationen och Gävle centrum är området mycket attraktivt för bostäder. År 2007 stod den första etappen av Gävle Strand färdig och den andra etappen förväntas stå klar för inflyttning år 2011. Från Gävle kommuns sida har man haft stora planer för området inte bara när det gäller att skapa en god boendemiljö i form av bostadsnära rekreation, luftiga och välplanerade lägenheter och god tillgång till kollektivtrafik. Man har även velat skapa en arkitektur som är nytänkande och skapar diskussion. Väster om Gävle Strand finns två befintliga områden som självklart påverkas av Alderholmens förnyelse. Dessa är miljonprogramsområdet Öster och ett magasinsområde som idag inte används som bostäder. Arbetet går ut på att hitta samband i utformnings och gestaltningsprinciperna för de tre områdena och på så sätt kunna dra slutsatser om man fört över vissa principer från de befintliga områdena till det nya. Analysen berör också de principer som varit övergripande och tagit stor plats i planhandlingarna för Gävle Strand men som inte kan återfinnas i de närliggande områdena.

In today?s IT-community, consumers use the internet in a increasing rate to find information or to purchase products and services. This has led to a growth in the market, but also a greater competition between e-stores and web shops. To separate yourself from the masses has become more important, the question is; what strategy should the IT-salesman use? The meaning of this scientific study is to find and focus on witch the primary factors/aspects are, that controls and is the very foundation for the consumer making a purchase, by using the internet. The purpose is to give companies a clear view of what it is that influence the consumer into buying theirs products, and how this group responds to different strategies and factors.

Sustainable development is a concept that has been interpreted in a multitude of ways in different contexts. This essay argues that the discourse of "ecological modernization" has strongly influenced the way in which the concept of ?sustainability? has been constructed in Swedish environmental policy. This interpretation of the concept of sustainability offers the possibility of combining economic growth with ecological sustainability which stands in contrast to the assumptions of Deep Ecology and Green Theory. The aim of this essay is to explore how the concept of sustainability is being formulated in environmental policy both on a national level and in the city of Malmö.Considering these issues in a specific context, this essay focuses on city planning that is as an important instrument to promote urban sustainability both on national and local levels.

This master thesis is performed at Scania Axles and Gearboxes, a production plant located in Södertälje. Within the plant axles, gearboxes as well as central gears are assembled from components to finished products. All production is conducted on production lines, with a pre-determined rate, which is supplied with components by the material handling department. Since the production quantity and the mix of product variants produced on the production line is customer order-based, the number and type of components needed for production as well as appropriate staffing within the material handling department is difficult to predict. Scania is currently using a number of different resource planning tools for each material handling-department within Axles and Gearboxes to visualize the workload within the departments.

The reindeer planning system (Renbruksplanen, RBP) is a communication and planning tool designed for Sami groups. A key purpose of this is that it will act as a tool in consultation with other market players, including forestry. Sami groups have asked for a model of how this can be used in a flexible manner. With the Swedish Forest Agency as a project manager, a communication model for how to use the RBP has been designed. It consists of a number of points divided into ?before?, ?during? and ?after? the consultation.

We must also rely on the services we use to work the way we expect them to. There is plenty of research on trust in e-commerce and online banking on website based platforms.
