Fackligt oarganiserade arbetares förhållningssätt till fackët och fackligt medlemskap : En kvalitativ studie om erfarenheter och handlingsmotiv
The union organization rate has continuously diminished since the mid 90's. The aim of this essay is to investigate non-members approach to the union. Central questions are what personal experiences the respondents have of the union and how they view the union as a phenomenon. According to previous research the main cause of the great decline in membership to LO are the increased membership fees to the union and the unemployment insurance funds (UIF) in 2007. The increased fee led to a greater accumulated cost for those who were both union- and UIF -members, which had a negative effect on the membership numbers for the union.

The expectations of a successful outcome are great during childbirth. The overall objective of prenatal care and birth care is that midwives contribute in creating the most positive experience of pregnancy, child birth and infancy as possible. During the past 30 years there has been a significant increase in sectiofrequency both in Sweden and the rest of the Western world. More parents feel an overall insecurity when it comes to child labour. The purpose of this study was to describe how midwives experience the work of creating a sense of security and good nursing when meeting the expectant parents.
Skanskas säkerhet på arbetsplatsen : Personlig skyddsutrustning
This degree projekt deals with Skanska´s safety at the construction site with focus on personal safety equipment. The purpose of this dissertation is to examine how the rules of personal safety equipment are applied and experienced at Skanska´s construction sites.In October 2004 Skanska started a projekt to make the construction sites more safe. With use of a questionnaire we have made a survey at different construction sites. 80 questionaires have been handed out to Skanska´s employees in the southeast region. While they were handed out we conrolled if the employees at Skanska´s construction sites used head protection, easy visible clothing, safety shoes and identification cards.The result of the survey shows how the rules are applied.
"Livet rullar på" - En kvalitativ studie av skateboardåkande ungdomars identitetsskapande
The purpose of this study was to examine the process of developing an identity as a skateboarder during adolescence. Our aim was to, from the actors? point of view explore what impact their values, experiences and thoughts have on their identity as individuals as well as a collectivity. We also investigated which symbols that are significant for this group. For this essay a qualitative method was used; we conducted nine individual interviews and one group interview with young skaters from the ages of 15-17.

As the staffing agency business is rapidly growing and suffering from accidents resulting in higher sick leave than in other businesses, it is of great interest to analyze which responsibilities prevail between the customer companies and the staffing agencies, when it comes to working environment for hired staff.The purpose of this essay is to clarify the distribution of responsibilities between customer companies and staffing agencies, regarding working environment. I would also like to analyze which consequences this distribution of responsibilities may lead to.To be able to answer these questions, I have chosen to use the legal dogmatic method together with the sociology of law method. I have studied legal sources, literature and also interviewed three persons who are active within the staffing agency business; one person from the Swedish Work Environment Authority, one person from the employers? side and one person from the employees? side.The conclusion of my survey is that the SAM-responsibility is divided equally between staffing agencies and customer companies, since the customer company who hires staff is equated with an employer. The employer must also ensure that there is an organized work adaptation and rehabilitation function within the company.

Working life is an arena that often reflects attitudes that already exist in our society. When alcohol- and drug abuse is detected among employees the employer has a statutory responsibility for rehabilitation. But the way how these employees gets to be treated is also influenced by attitudes. The purpose of this essay was to illustrate from a gender perspective how women's and men's alcohol- and drug abuse occur in working life and how the attitudes in our society towards their abuse reflect on trade life. Referring that, our intention was also to examine which consequences are given of how the individual is treated.
Behaviour and throughput of dairy cows when entering and exiting two types of parallel rotaries
Today a trend can be seen towards fewer dairy farms and increasing number of cows per farm. Larger farms set a higher demand of more labour efficient milking systems. The time to enter and exit milking rotary platforms is crucial to maintain a high cow throughput. This study is a project initiated by DeLaval in order to evaluate the cow throughput and cow behaviour during entry and exit in two types of parallel external rotaries with different bail designs. The two rotaries compared were DeLaval parallel rotary PR2100 and PR3100HD.
Åt var och en efter behov? Kriminalitet som markör för olika behandlingsalternativ
The aim of this study was to, using previously collected data from self-declared antisocial behaviour questionnaires, examine if the crime frequency has been different between adolescents that have either been referred to two different forms of open care in social service, child and youth psychiatric inpatient care or have been sent to Homes for Specialised Supervision. The criminality frequency and the most common crimes committed were compared between the study groups and further between genders in each particular study group. Statistical significance testing was used and the results of the survey revealed that juvenile delinquents that had committed severe criminal acts were represented in all four groups. The study group with adolescents in national care was the most different from other groups. These youths seemed to have had a lower crime frequency than the other groups with the exception assault and robbery.

The purpose is to explore and describe norms and values concerning emotions and emotional expression inSweden and Greece from an emotionsociological perspective. Do emotional regimes on a national level existand if they do, how do they differ? To answer this question qualitative interviews have been conducted withnine Greek/Swedes, men and women of different ages, who have lived in both countries and who speak bothlanguages. A quantitative survey study, employing a survey previously used in a Swedish study about emotions,has also been undertaken. Previous studies have shown that emotional regimes do differ historically and acrosscultures, but no study so far has focused on the differences between examples of North European and SouthEuropean cultures.The theoretical framework consists mainly of Hochschild´s theories about feeling/display rules and emotionwork, but the analysis also draws on Collin´s theory of interaction ritual chains and on Sociology of Emotionsmore broadly.The results suggest that different national regimes can be distinguished primarily in terms of display rules andin the skills of emotional alternations.

Age is one of two new discriminatory grounds in Swedish law. EU took official position against age discrimination by means of Council Directive 2000/78/EC of 27 November 2000 establishing a general framework for equal treatment in employment and occupation. From January the 1st 2009 it is, by Diskrimineringslag (2008:567), illegal in Sweden to discriminate anyone based on age. The law covers all age groups and is applicable to various fields in society. Age differ from other discriminatory grounds since everyone has an age.

The object with this bachelor thesis is to illustrate if equality is present
during the interaction between female and male players in the World of Warcraft
with focus on the female players conception. The main question is: How does
gender matter in the interaction between female and male players in WoW? This
question is particularly interesting because WoW is in its own construction
neutral in regards to gender in the aspect that gender does not hinder or
benefit your avatar when it comes to the avatars development or possibilities.
This bachelor thesis describes the views three of female WoW players and how
they perceive the interaction with male players with focus on equality. The
informants? personal thoughts and experiences are described.
NYCKELFAKTORER OCH ARBETSSÄTT FÖR INTEGRATION PÅ HERRGÅRDEN : En kvalitativ studie av NAI
Uppsatsen presenterar och problematiserar tre integrationsprojekt på Herrgården i Rosengård. Den frågeställning som växte fram lyder: Hur ska man effektivisera integrationsprojekt för att kunna uppnå bättre och snabbare resultat? Uppsatsens primära syfte är att visa på viktiga nyckelfaktorer och arbetssätt som spelar stor roll vid integration. Vilka faktorer ska man tänka på, och hur ska man kommunicera ut projektet, vilka kanaler ska man använda. I uppsatsen försöker jag skapa förståelse för vad som är viktigt att tänka på vid konstruktion och tillämpning av integrationsprojekt, samt hur man kan anpassa integrationsprojekt till befolkningen.
Försäkringskassan + byråkrati = sant? En studie om Försäkringskassans organisation i förhållande till Webers idealtyp byråkrati.
Max Webers teorier är klassiska inom sociologin. Denna d-uppsats syfte var att undersöka om Webers idealtyp byråkrati går att använda för att analysera en nutida organisation - Försäkringskassan. Kan Försäkringskassan utifrån valda teorier ses som byråkratisk och vad innebär detta för organisationen? För att få information om Försäkringskassan och dess organisation har olika typer av dokument undersökts. Denna information har sedan analyserats i förhållande till Webers byråkratibegrepp och en del kritiska röster om Weber.I uppsatsen framkom att Försäkringskassan är en byråkratisk organisation enligt Webers kriterier och att idealtypen byråkrati fortfarande är användbar - åtminstone på Försäkringskassan.
Utsatthet för brott: En undersökning av gymnasieungdomar i Malmö
Studien bygger på en offerundersökning genomförd på två gymnasieskolor i Malmö under våren 2005. Sammanlagt svarade 243 ungdomar födda mellan år 1984-1989 på ett frågeformulär om utsatthet för brott. Syftet med studien var att deskriptivt beskriva utsattheten för brott för gymnasieungdomar i Malmö, främst under den senaste ettårsperioden. Studien ville dessutom belysa hur de unga brottsoffren ser på polisens bemötande samt beskriva frekvens och anledningar till att man anmäler samt inte anmäler brott. De frågeställningar som jag valt att fokusera min undersökning kring är:* Hur ser utsattheten för brott ut för gymnasieungdomar i Malmö?* Finns det möjligtvis skillnader inom den undersökta gruppen beroende på kön och bakgrund?* Polisanmäler ungdomarna när de blivit utsatta för brott och i så fall varför/varför inte?* Hur upplever ungdomarna polisens bemötande vid själva anmälningstillfället?Deltagarna har själva fått definiera begreppet brott, då öppna frågor har dominerat enkäten.Undersökningen visar att trots ökade insatser från polisen upplever ca en tredjedel av ungdomarna att de råkat ut för brott det senaste året.

Enligt Blekinge Polismyndighets mångfalds- och likabehandlingsplan är
rekrytering av fler kvinnor till chefsfunktioner ett av målen för ökad
jämställdhet. En åtgärd som vidtagits för att uppnå målsättningen inom
myndigheten är Kvinnligt nätverk. I 10 år har nätverket bedrivits men Blekinge
Polismyndighet har fortfarande det lägsta antalet kvinnliga chefer i landet.
Vilken betydelse har Kvinnligt nätverk på individ- och organisationsnivå?
Tidigare forskning pekar på flera olika faktorer till att kvinnor inte
avancerar i samma utsträckning som män.
