Bullying and harassment is a common phenomenon that usually is associated with schools, but bullying among adults at workplaces is not as much discussed. Previous research shows that discrimination occurs in various social areas because of the individual's gender and ethnicity. Based on this there was a reason to suppose that bullying, which is a form of vulnerability, could also depend of belonging to a particular social category. The aim of this study was to get knowledge about the correlation between bullying at the workplace and concurrent collaboration of class, gender and ethnicity. The results of this quantitative study show that there is no correlation between the simultaneous interaction of gender, class and ethnicity towards bullying and harassment.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur personer som identifierar sig som sao braphet song (transsexuella) i Thailand konstruerar identitet i vardagen. Uppsatsen utgår ifrån tre temaområden som rör (upplevelse av) kön, sexualitet och upplevelse av Social status i samhället. Studien är utförd i Pattaya, Thailand under hösten 2007 och baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer tillsammans med observationer. Materialet tolkas med hjälp av teorier om socialkonstruktionism, postkolonial teori och genusperspektiv.Materialet visar på den komplexa situation som transsexuella befinner sig i då de ständigt måste kämpa emot ett heteronormativt utanförskap. Genom performativa handlingar skapar deltagarna i studien kön och sexualitet, och i många fall är berättelserna fyllda av motsägelsefullhet.

Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ studie där status på Idrott och Hälsa läraren ligger i fokus. Den utgår från sex stycken utbildade lärares syn på både sin egen status men även sin syn på Idrott och Hälsa läraren i ettstörre perspektiv. För att svara på detta är uppsatsen uppdelad i olika områden där den dels lyfter upp vad status innebär i mer allmän forskning samt en del där fokus är på ämnet samt läraren i Idrott och  Hälsa och dennes status. Dessa två delar, den allmänna samt den mer idrottsinriktade forskningen ställs sedan mot de åsikter och synpunkter som de sex intervjuade lärarna har uttryck i intervjuerna. Det huvudsakliga syftet har varit att utifrån forskning och de sex semi-trukturerade intervjuerna försöka få en bild av hur Idrott och Hälsa lärarens status är i dagens skola och även varför lärarna i fråga tror att den ser ut på det viset.

In Nuclear family as status Dennis Wijk examines if and how the nuclear family ideals and norms permeates family law secretaries work with families. The aim of the study is to investigate if the nuclear family has the status of ideals and norms in the family law secretaries practice. In order to achieve the aim of conducted four interviews with family law secretaries in Stockholm city. The interviews have been the main data collection. Theoretical concepts which are central in the study are: the nuclear family, institution, ideals, standards, and established and outsiders.

The purpose of my essay is to study and analyse how adolescents with different socioeconomical backgrounds experience their consumtion needs.There are five main questions:1. How do adolescents experience their needs of status symbols, labeled clothes etc?2. In what way does adolescents experience influences over their consumtion options?3.

In this study, five qualitative interviews were conducted, four of those with pupils and one with a teacher, in grade 9. Humans - a gregarious creature written in the context of status and hierarchy, aims to study how these students in grade 9 are grouped and how you look at each other in and between these groups and also in terms of status between and within the group. Using the concepts of identity, adaption, exclusion and the meaning of emotions with the chosen theoretical concepts by Goffman and, Elias and Scotson the purpose of this study has been answered. The results showed that the students were quite flexible between the groups in their class; most of them were part of a small group that consisted of their ?close? friends.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to study how DIK (Documentation, Information and Culture), the major trade union for Swedish librarians, work with the status and professionalization of the occupation. The status is, as we see it, low and depending on several factors. They are among others: the knowledge base, how extended the research base is and the domination of women within the profession. These factors all work together to maintain the status and the prestige of the occupation at a low level. With the help and work of the trade union DIK the status can improve if the focus is right.

This paper deals with three mediaeval churches in the town Visby, Gotland. These churches were located in different areas in Visby. Allegedly the areas where St Hans and Ste Gertrud were located were inhabited by wealthier people, and the more peripheral area where St Mikael was located was where the poor lived. Therefore, the people that were buried at St Mikael should be of lower Social status than the people buried at St Hans and Ste Gertrud. Based on the fact that an individuals diet was dependant on his or hers Social status, dietary studies on skeletal remains from the three different churches have been conducted to find out dietary patterns among the individuals buried at each church respectively.

The dog (Canis lupus familiaris) is the first species ever domesticated. They can develop a close bond towards other dogs, almost like a relationship among siblings, which can be a high valuable resource for good relations and cooperation?s. Dominance in dogs is sometimes used to explain undesired behaviors and explained as a personality trait. Dominance though, is not a trait in a dog or a source for undesired behaviors, but can rather be explained as a relationship between individuals, were one of them receives more submissive signals from the other.

Alcohol consumption and student life have been connected through many years. Many people establish their drinking habits during their years as a student and drinking habits among students are therefore an extremely important topic. The aim of this study was to examine the drinking habits of students at Växjö University. The study included 98 respondents who answered a survey concerning sex, age, living status, social relations, social desirability and drinking habits. The result indicated that male students consumed more alcohol than female students.

Det andra syftet var att utifrån hieratiska sjömanslivet få fram vad som gav status på de åländska fartygen.  Resultatet visar att för att få de åländska fartygen gällde det att individen skulle uppfylla sjömansidealet. Sjömansidealet var bland annat att sjömannen skulle vara modig, fysisk stark och ha erfarenhet. Status kunde sjömannen få inom två kategorier, inom arbetet och inom det sociala. De faktorer som gav status inom arbetet var att arbetsam, kunnig, fysiskt stark, modig, beslutsam, erfaren, hård.

Introduction: Approximately one in eight women suffer from postpartum depression, which can affect them for a period of weeks or even years. Postpartum depression does not only affect the mother, it also has a negative influence on the rest of the family. Postpartum depression can also lead to negative consequences for the development of the infant. It is an illness that is still considered a taboo, a fact that makes it hard to identify among women who are affected. Aim: The aim of the study was to examine cases where there is a connection between social economic status (SES) and the presence of postpartum depression.

Status är ett brett begrepp som kan definieras på många olika sätt. Status ställs ofta i samband med yrke och många människor har en uppfattning om vilken status olika yrkesgrupper har. Det finns motsägelsefulla resultat från tidigare studier om hur sjukgymnaster upplever yrkets status. En studie visar på att yrkets status är hög medan Legitimerade Sjukgymnasters Riksförbund menar att den behöver förbättras. Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur yrkesverksamma sjukgymnaster i Australien och Sverige upplever sjukgymnastyrkets status samt vad som kan förändras för att påverka yrkets status.
