Studien syftar till att identifiera de kulturella skillnader, hinder och motsättningar som kan uppstå i ett äktenskap mellan en muslimsk man och svensk kvinna. Männen utgör studiens kärna eftersom de härstammat från ett annat land och har en muslimsk bakgrund. För övrigt avser studien även att belysa på vilket sätt man lyckas bemästra dessa motsättningar.En kvalitativ metod har använts där fyra muslimska män från Mellanöstern har intervjuats. Dessa analyser har genomförts för att belysa problematiken kring blandäktenskapen, men även för att erhålla en djupare förståelse för de etniska skillnaderna mellan partnerna. Resultat visar på att ett blandäktenskap inte bara omfattas av kulturella skillnader mellan partnerna utan även leder till ett enormt motstånd från omgivningen och samhället.

Syftet med denna studie är att fördjupa vår förståelse för hur 12 unga människor med funktionshinder upplever sin levnadssituation. Detta vill vi uppnå genom att använda oss av kvalitativa intervjuer som datainsamlingsmetod med en hermeneutisk ansats. Vårt urval består av tolv informanter, fem kvinnor och sju män, som är mellan 20 och 30 år gamla. De typer av funktionshinder vi har valt att avgränsa oss till är olika typer av ryggmärgsskador som innebär att personerna är rullstolsbundna, olika grader av synskador samt en person som är amputerad. Studiens teoretiska perspektiv är Madis Kajandis definition och modell av livskvalitet samt mångfald.

United States is one of the two countries in the world that have not ratified the convention on the rights of the child, and one of the few countries that sentences children less than 18 years to life in prison without parole. Besides this, corporal punishment is legal in all the states of USA. This essay is aimed at researching how these three factors affect one another in the American context and what consequences may come out of it. By the use of reports from NGO's and UN treaties together with various theories about the subject in question, I have looked into the juridical climate for today's young Americans.The conclusion of the essay shows that there is a tendency in the United States to control violence with violence, from a local level and further to a state level. This master thesis investigates how the county administrative boards communicate the regional risk and vulnerability analyses to municipalities in Sweden. Information has been gathered through a survey and through a case study involving three county administrative boards. The results revealed that there are possibilities to improve or develop the communication in all the county administrative boards. The information channels are often written or web based, these channels promote one way communication rather than a dialog. The thesis gives suggestion on how to work out a strategy for a more effective communication, the case study also gives ideas on how a county administrative board can work with communication..

The aim of this study is to examine social workers? experiences of how the ADHD-diagnosis affects their work with children and youths living in foster care and how it affects the individuals and families themselves. The study is built upon five qualitative interviews and the results are analyzed through a theoretical framework that constitutes ADHD as not only the symptoms and the medical disorder but also as a social phenomenon where the disorder is socially constructed by the current society, norms, and knowledge. The study shows that the social workers? do not rely on the sole ADHD-diagnosis in the understanding and guidance of the children and their foster parents, but rather see the individual needs of each children.

This is a discourse analysis concerning the visions for Malmö's future. Three concepts are studied to see which meaning these are given in the Malmö context. The studied concepts are ? development (utveckling), industry (näringsliv) and citizen (befolkning).The meanings of these concepts are studied against a backdrop of theories of inclusion/exclusion in general and inclusion/exclusion in the city more specific. Michael Foucault´s notion of a discourse which stigmatizes those not following a behaviour which is defined as being right and normal is central to this.

Inledning : Postmodernismen har existerat i cirka 30 år och varit på den sociologiska agendan i drygt 20 år. Den har fått utstå omfattande kritik, men har också lockat många. Ofta framstår den postmoderna teorin som irrationalistisk och enbart kritisk, men om man utför en närmare granskning finner man en systematisk teori med positiva ansatser. Denna sida lyfts dock sällan fram, men har under de senaste 10 åren fått allt större fotfäste inom samhällsvetenskaperna, ibland under beteckningen postmodern teori, men minst lika ofta har den kallats vid andra namn. Att finna rötterna till den postmoderna teorin och se hur denna systematiska teori växer fram är därför viktigt för att förstå den samtida utvecklingen inom sociologisk teori.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att försöka frilägga de gemensamma nämnarna i den postmoderna teorin och på så vis kunna betrakta den som en rörelse med enhetlig grund och positiva förtecken.

An explorative study on the work motivation of employees at a retirement home. The three main factors are internal motivation, external motivation and control. A comparison between how important they estimate the different factors to be and how they experience them today reveals which factor is their key motivator and which areas that need improvement. Results indicat that internal and external motivation are slightly more important than control. And the amount of perceived control reflects the amount of creative and initiative behaviour of the individual.

Hur staten organiserar sin förvaltning, i form av specialisering och samordning av verksamheten, har betydelse för hur väl uppdraget att implementera den politiska viljan genomförs. Många menar att betoningen på samordning idag ökat efter flera år av specialisering som dominerande organisationsform. Vi har därför valt att undersöka begreppet samordning och dess tillhörande problematik för att se hur, när och var samordning är önskvärt inom statlig förvaltning och vilka problem som kan uppstå. Då samordning är en flertydig term som kan vara svårförstådd, avser uppsatsen också konkretisera begreppet och dess övergripande problematik. Genom intervjuer på Migrationsverket ges praktiska exempel utifrån en svensk kontext.

Colombia är ett land med en över 40 årig lång internkonflikt vilket har bidragit till att en avsevärd del av landets befolkning tvingats fly och lämna sina hem. De allra flesta flyr inte över Colombias gränser till andra länder, utan stannar i landet och blir internflyktingar. Tanken bakom denna uppsats är att undersöka problematiken kring dessa internflyktingar och om de omfattas av principerna om mänskliga rättigheter och om de har möjligheten att utnyttja dessa rättigheter. This thesis is dealing with the programs of control regarding deceit and quality assurance within the Swedish social insurance administration in Skåne, the years 2002-2005. In 2005 the Swedish National Audit Office released a report regarding the lack of measures towards deceit and fraud, and the lack of quality in the data for decision making within the administration. The questions to be addressed are why the administration does not make up to the demands regarding quality and measures towards deceit that the government and The National Audit Office demands. The main source for data has been interviews with workers within the administration and annual reports from public authorities. To understand and be able to explain the problems within the administration the theory by Michael Lipsky regarding street-level bureaucrats is used.

The purpose of this essay is to display the double moral that is prevailing in France concerning human rights. Immigrants and ethnic minorities are suffering from discrimination as well as racism. By looking at legislation in France concerning FGM/C and its difficulties it becomes clear that there is a correlation between the legislation and African women's situation in general. These women are denied their basic rights and are excluded from society. They are rendered invisible and vulnerable.

In recent years, the internet has exploded of images. Not at least in the popular photo-sharing network Instagram as one of the fastest growing social network for the moment. Millions of people around the world share pictures and expose themself for friends and family. We were therefore interested in which experiences and attitudes users have towards their identities in relation to their self-image and self-presentation on Instagram. Furthermore, whether they in general have a primary interest in using Instagram as a tool to experiment with images to present their identity on Instagram, in which way they approach their Instagram follower?s expectations on how they present themselves on Instagram and if they are aware of any strategies in their self-presentation on Instagram.The result of this study is the fact that our respondents thinks that they do not intend to have a primary interest in experimenting with images on Instagram to present their identitiy, it is rather something that comes naturally in how they present themselves on Instagram.
