The purpose of this study is to analyse the discourse on political exclusion in the official report Demokratiutredningen. It has been my ambition to relate the analysis of the report to a critical academic discourse on political exclusion and thereby make visible hidden norms and structures which functions to exclude certain individuals and groups from political participation.My paper point out that the report establishes a strong link between democracy and participation and that it, therefore, makes a strong case for a process of democratic inclusion. Though, in my study I suggest that that there is an unawareness of the importance of norms, hegemonic conceptions and structures and that inclusion, therefore, is unlikely to take place. Furthermore, I criticize the focus on deliberative democracy in the report. With insights offered by Mouffe in her argumentation on the necessity to acknowledge the dimension of antagonism present in all societies I underline that the focus on this democratic model is problematic.My conclusion is that the analysis presented in the report is insufficient if we want to create a democratic system characterized by equality..

The purpose of this study has been to investigate how psychosocial support for families where a parent suffers from a life threatening illness can be constructed. The intent was also to explore how the child's perspective is protected and what barriers and opportunities there are for family oriented support. The study has a qualitative approach and includes interviews with four social workers. The interviews were analyzed with a systems theory and attachment theory. The conclusions are that the whole family suffers psychological and social pressures when a parent is sick.

Uppsatsen tar avstamp i tidigare forskning om kulturella skillnader vid interaktion i Öresundsregionen. Vår utmaning och ambition har varit att se vilka möjligheter som finns vid det gränsöverskridande samarbete mellan organisationer i regionen. För att kunna jämföra, då och nu, utgår vi från ett tidsperspektiv från mitten av 1990-talet fram till idag. Uppsatsen kan ses som en kvalitativ fallstudie som är både kumulativ och byggd på intervjuer. Representanter från de två organisationerna, HH-samarbetet och HH-Ferries, ingår i intervjuerna.

Our purpose with this essay was to analyse the play "Night Is the Mother of Day" written by Lars Norén, and to investigate how the family members/characters in the play interacted.By analysing the family with help from the system theory and by comparing the family with scientifically proven facts regarding drug abuse complexities, this essay explains the family's behaviour pattern and main dysfunctional problems.This essay explains the similarities and non similarities between the science and the specific theatrical play being used. Social workers ideas about what domestic violence is influence their ability to recognize vio-lence in cases where this occurs. Social workers awareness and understanding of domestic violence can also influence the handling of these cases. Education on the subject domestic violence can increase social workers knowledge about, awareness and handling of violence. The present study aims to investigate how social workers in child protection investigations understand, recognize and interpret domestic violence and which interventions the social workers suggest. This is a qualitative vignette study in which semi-structured interviews was carried out with social workers working with child protection investigations.

Denna enkät skickades ut till sammanlagt 110 personer i service branschen (vårdanställda och reseledare).

An example of that same problematic communication presented itself for Arla Foods in what came to be called the Cartoon Crisis.In late September of 2005 a number of cartoons depicting the holy prophet Muhammed were published in a Danish newspaper. This event sparked scores of protest ranging from Morocco to the Philippines.

The aim of this study was to acquire knowledge about the working conditions of people's gainful employment. The research was conducted at one of the regional social insurance offices of Malmö with participation of ten of their employees. The research method of choice was a phenomenological approach. One open question about the working situation was answered freely. The results indicate a rather severe discontent about the workplace.

A current debate is going on in Sweden about the health-care organization, how it is structured today and how it should be structured in the future. Despite major changes in the county council structures, they still got problems with for instance economy and the providing of staff. As an answer to these problems new solutions are being developed.In this thesis I examine such a solution consisting of cooperation between county councils. The aim of the thesis is to examine how and why the county councils in Sörmland and Västmanland have made a decision regarding cooperation over the administrative border.My contribution is to construct a model over change and decision processes that can be used in other cases as well. The conclusion is partly that the decision to cooperate is built on changing structural factors, such as economy, demography and medical development.

Texten är utformad som en postkolonialistisk fallstudie av jämställdhet och etnisk mångfald i Malmös arbetsliv. Malmös arbetsliv utgörs i denna uppsats av Arbetsförmedlingen och Malmö stad som arbetsgivare. Det postkoloniala perspektivet innebär en utveckling av genusperspektivet. Vi har i banor av ett forskningsmässigt nydanande begrepp, kallat intersektionalitet, sökt mot-svarigheter i praktiken genom intervjuer utförda med representanter från Malmös arbetsliv. Vidare utförs en diskursanalys av Arbetsmarknadsverkets integrations- och antidiskrimineringsarbete och en viktig slutsats är att den saknar ett interagerande maktperspektiv där kön och etnicitet samverkar.

I fredsprocessen har track two diplomacy varit förekommande, och i konflikten var underrättelsetjänsten en utmärkande faktor, detta gör Nordirland till en god fallstudie.Studien visar att utan track two diplomacy hade inte fredsprocessen givit så goda resultat som det reella. Samt att underrättelsetjänsten genom MI6 officeraren Michael Oatley haft en viktig roll för denna diplomati, genom att skapa och utnyttja kontakter med IRA vilket ledde arbetet till konkreta diplomatiska resultat.
