Syftet med denna undersökning är att med hjälp av två vetenskapliga metoder, kvalitativa intervjuer och användardagböcker ta reda på hur användares mobila brukarvanor ser ut och vilka typer av tjänster kan de ligga till grund för baserat på ett Smart city-perspektiv. Arbetet kommer även att analysera och utveckla metodiken för fortsatta studier inom ämnet.Mobilen har under de senaste åren utvecklats till att bli en enhet där dess ursprungliga telefonfunktioner blivit sekundära egenskaper. Dess främsta ändamål är fortfarande för att kommunicera med andra, men i första hand genom andra typer av tjänster. Man kan idag även se hur utvecklingen går från ett bruk av digitala tjänster där varje enhet har specifika syften, till ett bruk där enheter samarbetar och delar ett gemensamt syfte. I och med att vårt bruk, och våra vanor, av dessa enheter förändras, så förändras även naturen hos tjänsterna de tillhandahåller.

This report evaluates various methods that can be used to position a smartphone running the Android platform, without the use of any special hardware or infrastructure and in conditions where GPS is unavailable or unreliable; such as indoors. The Island of Öland has one of the best wind climates for land based wind power in Sweden. An objective for the Island is to become self sufficient using electricity from renewable source of energy such as wind. There is currently 55 MW capacity installed on the Island and it is estimated that grid congestion will occasionally occur if more than 135 MW was installed.The aim of this thesis is to investigate he possibilities for load management by smart charging of electric vehicles, EV. The definition of smart charging is that the charging is done to some extent with an ICT-system, (information and communication technology) that correlates wind electricity generation to the charging of electric vehicles. The purpose is to avoid grid congestions on the sub-sea cable that connects Öland to the mainland because that in turn would curtail wind energy production.

The purpose of this thesis is to develop an application for mobile phones that simplifies communication. The company Doberman wanted to look at possibilities to develop such an application that uses Bluetooth? technol-ogy to communicate in ad-hoc networks. The aim has been an application to run on mobile phones in which you can send messages and files to other devices and also add a user profile with personal information to share with others. The communication will take place in temporary networks created when Bluetooth enabled devices is in range of each other.The market for mobile phones has grown rapidly over the past years and is still growing.

This thesis is about making a support for barcode readers and RFID readers on a computermounted in heavy vehicles. The computer has several applications designed for heavyvehicles such as an order handling application. The goal was to suggest an architecture toimplement a support for the readers. The architecture should be independent of whichmanufacturer who has made the reader hardware that was connected to the computer.At first a theoretically study was made around RFID technology and standards for thetransport and supply sector. Then the architecture was developed and a demo implementationwas made.The conclusion of this thesis is to implement support for barcode readers with a wedgeapplication.

The increase in sales of the so called Smart phones has meant that there has also been a requirement to determine new applications for which they are suitable. One of the largest platforms for Smart phones is Android and the task of this thesis is to develop an application for a company that wishes to create interactive radio for the Internet. In addition to ordinary radio features, the company would like the application to be able to present images and a small web page called Canvas. The overall aim ,of this thesis, is to build a fully functional media player that is compatible with the majority of the commonly used Android based mobile units. To fulfill the overall aim, nine explicit goals were targeted.

The Smart Grid technology has during the last decade been established as a way to create a greater flexibility on the electricity grid that will be needed as the development moves towards an increased share of renewable primary energy sources in the electricity production. One part of the Smart Grid technology is the ability to shift loads in time, to adapt to either price or emissions, known as Demand Response. This project, which was conducted at KTH in collaboration with the consulting corporation Capgemini, examines the economic, environmental and social aspects of the Demand Response technology. In the project, three household products are used in a model that derives the potential savings in costs and emissions of CO2e. The results show that the actual savings measured in SEK are small, but that the savings measured in percent can be as high as 20 percent. Reduction of CO2e emissions is slightly lower.

Syftet med den här undersökningen är att studera, beskriva och analysera högstadieelevers förståelse om hållbar utveckling i ämnet hem- och konsumentkunskap. Två forskningsfrågor har formulerats för att besvara syftet. Undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av både enkäter och intervjuer och för att tolka resultatet har en innehållsanalys gjorts. Där kunde fyra kategorier urskiljas: Mat och miljömärkning, Jämställdhet, Etik, normer och värderingar samt Energi och miljöproblem. Kategorierna är åtskilda men inte så distinkt eftersom de överlappar varandra i vissa avseenden.

Mobile application demands a lot of attending to the program code. There are lots of different development platforms that can be used for development. Not only for the specific operating system there are also lots of different cross-platforms that should minimize the amount of program code. This report is comparing the way of creating an android application in the cross platform Xamarin versus in the platform Eclipse using the Android plugin. It contains a part about the architecture of Android and its functions.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka och förstå hur nyanlända barn samspelar med andra barn i leken när de inte talar språket och hur börjar de lära/utveckla majoritets språket (svenska). För att genomföra min undersökning har jag gjort kvalitativa observationer under två olika perioder: förstudie, minietnografisk studie. Efteråt gjorde jag stimulated recall intervju där jag hade samtal med pedagogerna och jämförde mina upplevelser angående barns beteende och utveckling med deras. Jag har spelat in samtalet med hjälp av en Smart phone och sedan transkriberade. Resultatet visar att nyanlända barn i början oftast använder sig av kroppsspråk, blickar, mimik, imitationer och olika ljud för att göra sig förstådda när de samspelar med andra barn i leken. Jag kom i min undersökning också fram till att det tar tid för att nyanlända barn ska utveckla sociala relationer med andra barn och det beror mycket på hur mycket stödd de får från vuxna. Vidare visar resultatet att språkutvecklingen hos nyanlända barn beror mycket på pedagogernas engagemang, respekt till barnets språk, bakgrund och erfarenheter samt pedagoger som behärskar barnets språk och kan kommunicera med barnet på ett mer betydelsefullt sätt..

Kriminalvården är den myndighet i Sverige som ansvarar för fängelser, häkten och frivård. Myndigheten har länge känt ett behov att inom flera verksamheter kunna få tillgång till delmängder av deras klientsystem i ett mobilt och uppkopplat format.Det största hindret i deras fall med mobilitet och applikationsteknik var säkerheten. Därför genomfördes en riskanalys med hänsyn till frivården och mobilapplikationsteknik.För att välja en lämplig och passande riskanalysmetod jämförde vi ett antal metoder. Det visade sig att metoden CORAS passade bäst. När vi väl genomfört riskanalysen med CORAS försökte vi sedan matcha åtgärderna mot de olika mobilplattformarnas egenskaper för att se hur de kan fullfölja åtgärderna.
