Kreativ design som ett sätt att lösa komplexa problem : Ett snapshot av designprocessen vid utveckling av en trailer för ett fiktivt tv-spel
A current issue today is to try to implement creative design as a way to solve wicked problems in scientific contexts such as HCI. Since the problems are wicked, they have no given solution which makes the traditional methods inadequate. In these cases, creative design can be an alternative. Creative design is not used in scientific contexts because it is viewed as something unaccountable.In this essay we argue that creative design not necessarily have to be unaccounted. We discuss various views of creative design and translate theory to a practical context.
Seeking Safety som behandling vid PTSD : En single case studie i psykiatrisk öppenvård
Denna single case studie, med multipel baslinjemätning över beteenden, utvärderade huruvida frekvensen traumarelaterade undvikandebeteenden minskade vid 12 sessioners behandling under 6 veckor med Seeking Safety (en behandlingsmanual med copingstrategier för PTSD och samtidigt missbruk), hos patienter med PTSD som inte bedömts lämpliga/redo att direkt börja traumafokuserad KBT. Därutöver utvärderades huruvida behandling med Seeking Safety, kunde öka villigheten att genomgå traumafokuserad KBT. 4 patienter deltog i studien varav 3 fullföljde behandlingen. Resultaten visade en svag tendens i riktning med hypoteserna, men studiens resultat i sin helhet ger ej stöd för behandlingens effekt hos patientgruppen. Av denna studie går ej att utläsa huruvida behandling med Seeking Safety kan leda till minskning av traumarelaterade undvikande-beteenden..
Integritet, i väntans tecken : En experimentell studie om väntrummets inverkan på den personliga integriteten
Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka väntrumsmiljön på en vuxenpyskiatrisk öppenvårdsmottagning med fokus på patienternas personliga sfär, avskildhet och intimitet. Det bakomliggande intresset för studien handlar om den forskning inom miljöpsykologi som visar att rumsutformning och fästpunkter (inredningselement) som bidrar till upplevelsen av den personliga sfären, avskildhet och intimitet kan appliceras i en väntrumsmiljö på en vuxenpsykiatrisk öppenvårdsmottagning. Studien har genom en experimentell design undersökt om man med hjälp av fästpunkter såsom vikväggar, växter, tavlor och tidningar samt genom en förändring av möbler och dess placering i väntrummet påverkade patienternas upplevelse av deras personliga sfär, avskildhet och intimitet. Genom att i den manipulerade väntrumsmiljön förändra rumsutformningen och placera fästpunkter såsom vikväggar, växter, tidningar med mera kunde olika grader av avskildhet och intimitet tillgodoses och även stärka deltagarnas personliga sfär. Resultatet visar på att de flesta patienter som deltog i studien upplevde att deras personliga sfär, avskildhet och intimitet tillgodosågs mer i den manipulerade väntrumsmiljön. Den manipulerade väntrumsmiljön bidrog till att patienterna själva kunde styra över den process som handlar om att främja eller inte främja den sociala interaktionen.
Gamers and Game Design: Incorporating Users in the Design Process
This paper deals with the difficulties of applying user-centered design practices as an independent developer, based on the visualization of a game concept in the form of a prototype. The aim is to evaluate the usability of user-centered design practices, specifically in the field of games development. Throughout this paper, I will give an account of the methods used for testing, as well as a review of previous research done in this field of study. This essay examines the speaking subject in Katarina Frostenson?s poetry through a phenomenological perspective. The study is focused on how the subject appears, the relation between the subject?s inner world and the outside world, and the relation between the speaking subject and language. The purpose of the study is to expand the understanding of questions regarding the subject in Frostenson?s poetry by using a phenomenological approach ? a perspective that is missing in previous studies.

A prerequisite for farm businesses to expand is for land to be made available, either to buy or to rent. In Sweden, 43 % of the total arable land is leasehold land, which implies that a functioning leasehold market is of great importance for the Swedish agriculture. Several factors can affect the supply of leasehold land, for instance the leasehold legislation and the Single Payment Scheme. The fact that the leasehold legislation is compulsory, in protection of the leaseholder, might keep land owners from leasing their land out.

The aim of this masters thesis is to analyze how subjects of ethnographical objects should be described. To obtain this we focus on which subject aspects of ethnographical objects that could be possible and valuable to analyze and to index. This is done with the help of established LIS subject indexing theories, and through the perspective of ethnographical museum documentation. The theories are both general, concerning the stages of subject indexing, and more specific, regarding the indexing of pictures. One of the latter is the theoretical model of Sara Shatford, from the article Analyzing the Subject of a Picture.

If the classification system is not revised there is a possibility that the system will become antique and hard to apply to different subjects. The purpose of this study is to see if the SAB-system is a classification system which shows a reflection of the subject Religion that is equivalent with that of Swedish universities. The ideas which are behind the classification of the subject religion in the SAB-system have been analysed, as well as the structuring of the scientific discipline Religion at the universities. The result will show if the SAB-system can classify the subject religion in a satisfying way at university libraries.

Från förberedelse till upplevelse : Hur användarupplevelsen i e-handel kan efterlikna upplevelsen från en fysisk butik med fokus på single brandföretag
SyfteSyftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka vilka delar av upplevelsen som konsumenten får i en fysisk single brandbutik som bör efterliknas och lyftas in i samma företags digitala butik. Det har även varit att se hur väl företag förmedlar sina kärnvärden till sina konsumenter i den fysiska butiken. Slutligen har det undersökts vad som är viktigt när det kommer till egenskaper, funktioner och upplevelsen generellt för konsumenter när de handlar online.ProblemformuleringVad som gör denna studie speciellt intressant är att de single brandföretag jag har undersökt bedriver egen fysisk samt digital butik där de säljer sina produkter, men de har även återförsäljare som säljer samma produkter och blir på så sätt deras konkurrenter. Eftersom dessa single brandföretag har ett varumärke och kärnvärden som de måste leva upp till kan de inte sänka priserna på sina produkter på samma sätt som deras återförsäljare kan. Skulle då lösningen kunna vara att försöka lyfta in upplevelsen konsumenterna får i den fysiska butiken in i den digitala butiken för att förmedla en bra varumärkesupplevelse?SlutsatsDenna studie grundade sig på en modell som beskriver hur en bra användarupplevelse kan skapas.

The background to this study is the government’s investment in design and the increase of design education around the country. As a future design teacher (industrialdesign) at high school/college, it is of great interest for me to look closer at student’s attitude towards design and design educations at high school.Questions that have been investigated are student´s attitude towards design; design as a concept but also as a phenomenon. How does the student counselor inform the students of the differentchoices before choosing high school?Does the students view on design correspond to what the student counselor say?What opinion does the student counselor have to the concept design as well as design in highschool? Is design just a craze or here to stay?To get answers I have made interviews with student counselors at two different schools, I have also been in contact with a student counselor on the internet. Their thoughts will clarify thesituation that the students might be in.

Access to correct and updated intelligence about our environment is in an increasingly degree considered important in the private as well as in the public sector. At Mälardalens University, competitive intelligence as an area of research is closely related to Information Design - a multidisciplinary consideration which goal is to improve the receiver´s understanding of intended messages. This study was conducted in order to find out how Information Design was representedin different kinds of literature regarding Competitive Intelligence. Also, it describes the main focus areas concerning Competitive Intelligence in the same literature. Through an explorative "pearl-growing" method combined with searches through referrals, 60 different sources provide a broad basis for analysis.
Minimalist design for children?s games
The aim of this report is to see whether the graphic design of a game influences children?s will to play games. I am especially looking at minimalist graphic design and how well it works for a game aimed at children age 7-9. Does the style of the game design have any impact at all concerning the children?s wish to play the game or is the game mechanic all that matters.
