The Göta älv-bridge is a welded steelbridge which is located in Gothenburg,it connects the inner city of Gothenburgwith the island Hisingen. Cracks wasdiscovered in the steel in 1999-2000which started an investigation of thebridge to clearify the condition of thebridge. The conclusion was a monitoringsystem based on laser light sent throughan optical fiber.This report describes the bridge, thedamages, the monitoring system and thetraffic on the bridge.Stefan Pup, at Vectura Borlänge was mysupervisor during this work. In myinvestigation the costs of themonitoring system and the costs ofclosing the bridge is compared andevaluated. The biggest investigatingpart is the costs of closing the bridge.The results of my investigations is thatclosing the Göta älv-bridge would cost 1107 300 SEK / day.

Hedge funds? importance within the financial system has during the most recent years increased dramatically. These special funds are unique instruments that differ from traditional mutual funds in a variety of ways, however especially in how they expect returns. Due to the fact that hedge funds are able to hold short positions they possess the possibility to become market neutral investment vehicles.Because of this possibility to sustain positions neutral to market fluctuations, the concept of absolute returns became a unique selling point for hedge fund managers and promises of stable returns unchallenged by market conditions was assured. This research paper aims to examine the theory of absolute returns in hedge funds by examining hedge funds from the Nordic region during the last years of economic turmoil that has occurred by  analyzing the results from their strategies, partially by quantitative measurements as well as qualitative.  The results show that none of hedge fund strategies managed to deliver absolute returns over the chosen period..

Studiens syfte är att belysa enhetschefers upplevelser och värderingar av samarbetet med en företagshälsovård angående upprepad korttidsfrånvaro. Kvalitativ metod med semistrukturerade intervjuer användes. Tio enhetschefer i två kommuner intervjuades och resultatet bygger på deras subjektiva upplevelser. I studien framkom att enhetscheferna generellt anser att grundtanken i samarbetet är bra med en bra struktur. Enhetscheferna har sedan länge själva arbetat med den upprepade korttidsfrånvaron och det är även de som bedömer vilka medarbetare som hänvisas till företagshälsovården.

What consequences will follow from an extended outsourcing? Purpose: the study?s overall purpose is to investigate what possibilities and risks that can be connected to an outsourcing decision and how the order of the service will handle the risks. The study will also investigate what management philosophy that will be used and regulate the outsourcing relation and how the company?s strategy will affect the decision and how the process of outsourcing will look like.

Engelfors Trilogy is a three-part fantasy novel consisting of Circle, Fire and The key, written by Mats Strandberg and Sara Bergmark Elfgrens. Circle was nominated for the August Prize award 2011, which is a literary prize awarded each year. The book has also been translated into 25 different languages. Fire came out in August 2013 and is the part of the novel that I will concentrate on in these theses. What I will do in this paper is a queer feminist analysis of the novel's main characters in the book Fire.

The aim of this essay is to investigate how the author JT LeRoy (a. i. Laura Albert) questions and broadens the concept of authenticity in literature and authorship. My study is based on LeRoy?s novel Sarah [2000] and the collection of short stories The heart is deceitful above all things [2001], as well as articles written about the construction of Laura Albert?s alter ego JT LeRoy.

Det övergripande syfte med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka och belysa om och hur de olika aspekter som beskrivs i teoribildningen kring allians- begreppet kan ta sig uttryck i svar från enkät- och intervjuer från 228 kvinnor som ingick i studien ?Stöd till barn som bevittnat våld mot sin mamma? från Göteborgs Universitet. Sju enkät- och intervjufrågor har tillsammans med ett Working Alliance Inventory-Short test och formuläret Symtom Check List valts ut som underlag till undersökningen.

What kind of image and text elements does the poster use and with what function? With what and how do they persuade the audience that the movies are interesting and worth seeing?We have taken the most popular Swedish movies between 2001 and 2010, one for each year, going by the statistic found at the website of the Swedish Film Institute.

The aim of this project was to develop a numerical model simulating the global transport of air pollution. The model currently used by SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, was intended to perform such simulations at regional scales. However, the usage of a grid based on longitudes and latitudes makes this model work poorly in global simulations. The problem with this grid is that the nodes are concentrated near the North and South Poles. Due to this characteristic, the Courant, Friedrich and Lewy-condition for numerical stability puts a sharp bound on the timestep length.

This is a thesis about The Eight Circuit Model, a modern mind map developed for the purpose of illumination and enlighenment by Dr. Timothy Leary in the 1970s. Later, authors such as Robert Anton Wilson and Antero Alli elaborated upon the idea to make it more wholesome and compatible with other ideas expressing the same basic principle. In short, it is an intellectual abstraction of the evolution of consciousness through a series of eight stages, which Leary called Circuits. By looking at the brain as an evolving bio-computer, with thoughts working as software, upgrading itself through neurological imprints, Learys created a Hero's Journey for the modern age.The thesis tries to analyze this idea, as it is presented in Robert Anton Wilsons Prometheus Rising, through the lens of the discourse category ?Western Esoterism.? This essay examines the criteria for a peaceful cemetery. First there is a short history of the Swedish funeral place. After that follows the definitions of a peaceful place according to environmental psychology. From these definitions an analysis method is constructed for identifying a peaceful cemetery. The analysis method contains six criteria, shape of the entrances, existence of sound, vegetation character, the cemetery?s demarcation, the cemetery?s management and what feeling the cemetery mediates.The analysis method is put into practice on three cemeteries, Överklinten cemetery, Stockholm forest cemetery and the old cemetery in Malmö.

Denna studie har som mål att undersöka hur produktplaceringar i spelet Metal Gear Solid 4 kan ha för roll i narrativet, vad dessa tillför spelet och vilken roll de har för karaktärerna i berättelsen. Studien undersöker även om dessa produktplaceringar visas på ett sätt som förstärker produktens eller varumärkets status men även för att se om stereotyper nyttjas för att upphöja deras effekt.Denna studie bygger på en kvalitativ textanalys med semiotiska och narrativa inslag där jag tillsammans med valda teorier om bland annat narratologi och produktplacering kommer att svara på uppsatsens frågeställning:Hur används och integrerar varumärken/produkterna med narrativet och karaktärerna i Metal Gear Solid 4?  Resultatet visar att de produkter och varumärken som finns med i spelet har varit viktiga för både narrativet och karaktärerna. Dessa produktplaceringar har bland annat gjort spelets berättelse och dess karaktärer mer verkliga då de har hjälpt att skapa en länk mellan fiktion och verklighet. Produkterna har spelat en stor roll i narrativets story och händelseförlopp då de har varit viktiga instrument som har underlättat spelandet och fört narrativet framåt samtidigt som de har använts av spelets karaktärer och gjort det möjligt för dem att kunna uppnå det slutgiltiga målet i narrativet, vilket är som många andra berättelser idag, världsfred..

The aim of this study is to describe and analyse the creation and the design of a new public library. In order to concretize this, the study sets out from two examples, the public libraries in Simrishamn and Landskrona. The material used to attain the purpose of the study consists partly of interviews, partly of literature on the subject. To be able to put these two libraries in their historical context, the essay also provides a short overview of the development of public library buildings in Sweden during the 20th century. Another aspect that is discussed is the actual procedure of planning a public library from scratch.

SYFTE: Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka drivkrafterna bakom företags miljö- och hållbarhetskommunikation. Vi vill även visa på betydelsen av trovärdighetsfrågan i relation till kommersiella intressen och hur den påverkar kommunikationen. Studien fokuseras till Max och Saltå Kvarns avsändarperspektiv med avsikt att jämföra och kontrastera hur företagen kommunicerar sina miljöidentiteter.TEORETISK RAM: Den teoretiska ramen bygger på CSR, Miljöidentitet och Miljö- och hållbarhetskommunikation med begreppen trovärdighet, transparens och tonalitet. METOD: Jämförande fallstudie och halvstrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer med nyckelpersoner på företagen. SLUTSATSER: Max och Saltå Kvarns olika utgångslägen är den största bidragande orsaken till skillnaderna mellan företagens miljö- och hållbarhetskommunikation och påverkar både drivkrafterna samt miljöidentiteternas utformning.
