This master thesis is a story about the development of a rosary in Lomma hamn. During spring 2004 I attended a competition arranged by the municipality of Lomma and SLU Alnarp. The assignment was to design a rosary. The jury liked my ideas and invited me to proceed and develop them. The rosary in Lomma hamn was built in 2006. The Lomma hamn area is being developed as a new part of Lomma.

The aim of this Master?s thesis was to investigate if one can identify a pattern in a family?s reading habits. Our empirical data was gathered in a survey distributed to a family in three generations, between the ages 15 to 82. The family was interviewed in a life time perspective, in a so called life story character. The questions addressed in this thesis concerned how the reading habits and the general attitude toward literature differ between generations in one family.

2007, Swedish television, ?Uppdrag granskning,? aired their story about ?Louise? from Vetlanda. A drug dependent father had gotten custody of his daughter and sexually abused her from the age of 10 to 15. The local social services got several notifications about Louise suffering of negligence, and did investigate the family several times without taking any actions to protect her. At one time, father and daughter were living in his trailer placed in a gravel pit, and the police worried about her and called social services, because it was below cero degrees outside.

Sverige genomförde två stora kommunindelningsreformer under 1900-talet. Den ena varstorkommunreformen som kom 1952, och den andra var den så kalladekommunblocksreformen som kom 1974. Kommunreformen minskade antalet kommuner tillmindre än hälften och syftet var att varje kommun skulle kunna bära sina egna omkostnadergenom att skatteunderlaget skulle vara tillräckligt stort. Kommunerna i Halland var även de iolika grad involverade i kommunreformen och inställningen till denna varierade mellankommunerna. Det är då intressant att undersöka vilka skälen och attityderna tillkommunreformerna har varit, eftersom de bidragit till att ge en bild av samhället och denkommunpolitik som fördes i Halland vid tiden för sammanläggningarna samt att se om dethar skett en förändring över tid mellan förändringarna.Syftet med den här uppsatsen har varit att undersöka vilka attityderna och problemen vari Halland, och om de har varierat från den ena kommunreformen till den andra samt försökage en bakgrund till medborgarnas inställning..

Undersökningens syfte är att belysa på vilket sätt teknikundervisningen med sin praktiskestetiska karaktär kan gynna språkutveckling. Teknikundervisning handlar om att ställas inför ett problem som ska lösas, om att misslyckas, förändra, pröva igen och lyckas. I denna studie har åtta elever i åldrarna tio till femton från en förberedelseklass skapat en saga och arbetat praktiskt med konstruktioner, dokumentation, och textbearbetning i anslutning till denna. Undersökningen ger svar på frågor kring hur de praktiska delar inom teknikundervisning kan gynna språkutveckling hos barn med svenska som andraspråk. Särskilt fokus har legat på hur eleverna interagerar när de får konstruera figurer och återberätta sin saga med hjälp av dessa och praktiskt?estetiskt teknikarbete.

This study deals with a research on what the opening sounds in movies tell us about the story that we are about to follow. The purpose is to examine if and how the sound in the first five minutes of the movie contribute in giving information about the film?s genre. The theoretical base includes both genre theory and Michel Chion?s theory on film sound.

Holy war against the aberration and the newspaper terrorismHeligt krig mot förvillelsen och tidningsterrorismen This paper explores Bernhard von Beskow?s (1796-1868) conservative critique of the, for the early 19th century, new dominating voice in public matters namely the liberal press. There are competing narratives about the emerging liberal press and its critics. On the one hand the conservative critics were seen as hopeless reactionaries which acted against freedom of the press, themselves stripped of positive ideals and/or handled with little interest as footnotes in the great story of the liberal victory over its opponents. On the other hand this story has been questioned and an alternative has been presented of how to understand the conservatives and their critique of the press.

The main purpose of this thesis is to discuss what exile writing is and who can be seen as an exile writer. If the word ?exile? is related to forced dislocation, like Paul Tabori and Sopia A. McClennen describes it, who can be viewed as an exile writer? Is Anders Olsson?s definition of an exile writer acceptable or not? Could the The Escape, a future story about exiled Northern Europeans in Myanmar, be classified as exile literature?Another purpose with this text is to describe how a story about exile can be made realistic and tangible to a reader who has not experienced exile.

AbstractPurpose/Aim: The aim of this essay is to paint a picture of science news reporting in the Swedish Public Service science programme, vetenskaps-radion. Key issues to be adressed are: What areas in science are prioritised? How much of the total broadcast time are devoted to each area? Are there any differences in reporting between weeks? How well does the swedish science radio match common interets? Are the news in the form of short ?soundbites? or are they more lengthy in-depth?Material/Method: Quantitative analysis of radio programmes. The variables used are based on the different major areas in natural sciences.Main results: This study shows that most broadcast time is devoted to news regarding biology and medicine and that the news rather are in the form of short snippets of news than more lengty in-depth stories. This is put in light of how journalistes tend to present news and that the subjects involved has to relate to peoples everyday lives.

Syftet med detta arbete var att genom prestandatester undersöka den förbättring i läs- och skrivhastighet samt medelaccesstid som kan uppnås då data placeras på de yttre sektionerna av hårddiskens skivor, jämfört med om data placeras över hela hårddiskskivornas yta. En hårddisk har högre överföringshastighet i den yttersta sektionen av hårddisken och lägre överföringshastighet i den innersta sektionen. Arbetet analyserade den påverkan på prestanda som ovan nämnda dataplacering har på en enskild hårddisk och olika RAID-konfigurationer. Rapporten är intressant då det är lättare att med informationen som presenteras i rapporten, planera hårddiskkonfigurationer som leder till optimerad prestanda. En experimentell metod användes för att utreda prestandaskillnaderna.

Storage of biomass is associated with problems like heat development, biomasslosses, and reduction of the fuel quality. Certain processes such as biological- andchemical degradation are responsible for these storage problems. This master?sthesis was carried out at Vattenfall Research and Development AB and is alignedtowards quantifying the biomass losses from short-term storage (1-2 months) ofbark and recovered wood. The biomass was stored in outdoor piles during differentseasons, campaign 1 (summer) and campaign 2 (autumn).

The purpose with this examination essay was to find out if participation of children in social welfare investigations had increased since the social services had started to work with BBIC. I compared the participation of the child before BBIC, then when social service had started to work with BBIC and I tried to see if there were increased participation in the investigations. My theoretic starting-point was the symbolic interactionism and I used the qualitative method of investigation. In my investigation I found that there is not yet any increase in participation of the child in the investigations when social service work with BBIC. What I found was that the reason to start an investigation often was that the parents made the problem for the child and that conditions at home for the child influenced the possibility of the child to communi- cate with an adult that the child did not know.

Travel literature and especially the ?adventure story? has excited young British boys for over two centuries. However, it has also been a vehicle for the assertion of male dominance and European supremacy. The story of a British man who goes to the colonies, performs some test which is essentially a test of his manliness, and whose compulsory victory marks the end of the book, has been a central myth in colonial masculinity.Through looking at three Anglo-Saxon male travel writers from the 20th century, this essay aims to study the different ways in which Western male identity is shaped against an Indian background. The novels analysed are Topee and Turban or Here and There in India by H.A.

Den svenska ölmarknaden genomgår just nu en stor förändring. Mängder av nya små aktöreretablerar sig. Så kallade mikrobryggerier startas i en strid ström. Då dessa nya ölproducenterarbetar mycket småskaligt och med hantverksmässiga metoder är det svårt att få ekonomiskbärighet i verksamheten. För att mikrobryggerierna skall klara sig på sikt krävs att de tarmarknadsandelar från de stora industribryggerierna.

This project report describes a supplement for character creation in a tabletop role-playing game ?Dragons and Demons." The purpose of this project is to improve the character creation for the players? trough the narrative elements such as character?s background story. The applied qualitative methods such as a test panel and a questionnaire were conducted for the evaluation of theories used during character creation and to get feedback on the supplement?s creative value for the players. The aim of the questionnaire was to see how the method for the character creation differs from the regular way of making a character for a tabletop role-playing game and if this idea improves user experience during the tabletop role-playing game.The results of the evaluation are based on answers from novice and experienced players, and conclude that the additional background story creates an insight into the character's past, which makes it easier for novice players to get quick started with character creation.
