The aim for this essay is to investigate the importance of studying religion in an upper secondary school in Närke county, this is done by distribution of a questionnaire. The importance is studied both on the individual level and on the societal level. Hypoadrenocorticism (Addison´s disease) results from insufficient production of glucocorticoid and mineralcorticoid hormones from the adrenal glands. The disease is often difficult to diagnose in an early stage because of the multitude of associated vague clinical signs. The standard poodle is one breed presupposed to be at higher risk of developing the disease. The purpose of this study was to give a review of canine hypoadrenocorticism as described in literature, and to characterise Addison´s disease in a population of standard poodles in Sweden. Statistics on incidenceproportions by breed for hypoadrenocorticism from the database of the Swedish insurance company Agria are presented.

Med vår studie vill vi bidra till en ökad förståelse för hur skolans pedagoger arbetar för de tysta eleverna och vad de anser orsakar att en elev är tyst. Bakgrunden bygger till stor del på vad forskningen säger om vilken betydelse språket har, vad som kan vara ett hinder i att kunna uttrycka sig men även vad pedagogen kan göra för att underlätta för en tyst elev. Vi valde att använda oss av kvalitativa intervjuer för att ta del av pedagogernas erfarenhet om hur de arbetar för de tysta eleverna. Några av frågorna vi ställde till pedagogerna var bl.a.: Hur beskriver de en tyst elev? Kan miljö, arv och pedagogens arbetssätt vara en bidragande orsak till elevens tystnad? Når de tysta eleverna målen? Resultatet av vår undersökning visade att merparten av de tysta eleverna når målen.

In this paper, generic reference in a collection of juridical texts is examined, with focus on third person singular pronouns. The object of the study is to find out which generic pronouns occur in the material along with their relative distribution, but also to display further use patterns and to offer plausible explanations for these patterns. Another object is to evaluate whether the use of generic pronouns corresponds with language planners? recommendations for non-sexist language. The corpus studied consists of Rikspolisstyrelsens författnings­samling (?Statute Book of the Swedish National Police Board?), comprising 172 documents written between 1974 and 2009.The study is divided into two parts.

Resistensutvecklingen hos hästens inälvsparasiter har länge varit omtalad och har på senare år blivit ett ännu hetare ämne. Inte minst hästens spolmask som på bara några år har gått från; att kunna avdöda med de flesta avmaskningsmedel, till att nu vara kandidat för multiresistens. Studier världen över bevisar en multiresistens mot samtliga makrocykliska laktoner och det finns även studier som tyder på att så även är fallet med pyrantel-preparat. Den enda substans som idag är effektiv mot Parascaris equorum är bensimidazol; emellertid har vi det i Sverige gott ställt i resistensproblematiken där även pyrantel har fortsatt god effekt.Det finns många negativa effekter som kan uppkomma vid en spolmaskinfektion, där kolik och tarmruptur är de allvarligaste. Det finns även studier som indikerar att koliksymptomen kan ha en relation till föregående avmaskning och att det på grund av denna blir en stockning av avdödade maskar.En förebyggande åtgärd mot infektion av spolmask är framför allt att ha en fungerande avmaskningsrutin, gärna med selektiv avmaskning genom träckprov.

This essay is regarding the problematic facts about child poverty in Sweden. Since the beginning of the new millennium child poverty has increased, in Sweden. The last report which came out in the spring this year (2012) opened up for a lively political debate as well as big headlines in news papers and other media. The attention it got in Society became hard for the politicians to avoid. The Swedish section of Save the Children, demanded in their report concerning child poverty in Sweden that the Swedish Government need to do an inquiry about the increasing child poverty.  Today in Sweden, there are two big parties, and they have been the biggest for a long time now.

Bakgrund: Psykisk ohälsa är ett starkt växande folkhälsoproblemen i västvärlden. Depression klassas som en av de mest krävande sjukdomar att leva med. Behandlingar som vanligen används vid depression är kognitiv beteendeterapi och medicinering med SSRI.Syfte: Att belysa hur SSRI eller kognitiv beteendeterapi upplevs av patienter med depression utifrån ett livsvärldsperspektiv.Metod: Kvalitativ litteraturstudie med induktivt synsätt där artiklarna analyserats utifrån en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat: Rädslan av biverkningar vid medicinering med SSRI är frekvent samt förekomsten av stigmatisering. Trots detta finns också upplevelser av att medicinen räddat patienters liv. I början upplevs ofta KBT som svårt att ta till sig.

Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka kvinnors upplevelser av att åldras i relation till kropp och utseende. Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ studie där vi intervjuat sex kvinnor i åldrarna 63-92 år. Vi har valt att tolka materialet genom en hermeneutisk ansats där teman som ?accepterat? respektive ?färglös? där färglös innebär att förlust av färger på hår, ögonbryn och läppar identifierats.Som teoretisk referensram har vi använt SOK-modellen, selektiv optimering med kompensation som beskriver en generell anpassningsprocess och den modellen gav oss verktyg att urskilja de olika strategier som kvinnorna individuellt använde sig av för att hantera åldrandeprocessen.Resultatet visar att alla sex informanterna accepterat de kroppsliga förändringar som åldrandet medfört. De försöker aktivt upprätthålla god hälsa genom fysisk aktivitet, val av hälsosammare kost och/eller helt enkelt att acceptera att kroppen har förändrats och sätter hinder för aktiviteter som har kunnat genomföras tidigare när kroppen var yngre och smidigare.Vi ser också i vår studie att alla sex informanterna delar upplevelsen av att bli ?färglösa? som innebär förlust av färger av hår, ögonbryn och läppar.

Finnhamn is a group of islands that are located in the middle north part of Stockholm?s archipelagos. On the main island Stora Jolpan there is a camp called Sommargården, which consists of eleven different buildings in various sizes. The assignment given by the Archipelago foundation (Skärgårdsstiftelsen) is to analyze if it?s benefited to replace Sommargårdens current heating system that consists of electricity radiators, with a more energy efficient heating system. This research is done with help of the literature review and a visit to Finnhamn in order to map Sommargården?s current state and its energy usage.

Discussions about the democratic deficit of the European Union have gotten more intense and the criticism usually points towards a great gap between the citizens and the EU politics. In this study the political communication policy is being put under the scope to investigate to what extent the policy is designed to counter the democratic deficit, supported by the theory of deliberative democracy. The analysis examines three aspects of the deficit ? decentralization, participation and the distribution of information ? and makes research into the communicative measures that have been implemented. The importance for EU to make deliberation possible is stressed throughout the essay and in the conclusion I argue that improvements still need to be made.  .

The main objective of this essay is to present the views of nine Swedish publishers and four other agents in the literary field regarding the possibilities of and obstacles to publishing fiction in an electronic format. Furthermore, whether or not electronic publishing is today actually a viable alternative. A substantial part of the essay functions as background to our interview findings and is based primarily on material originating from the Sociology of Literature field. The introductory chapter expounds the methodological and theoretical basis of the essay and is followed by a chapter placing our study in a larger, international media, context. Chapter three deals with the past decades? restructuring of the publishing sector, the professional functions involved in traditional publishing and Pierre Bourdieu?s theories on the cultural and economic forces at work in the literary field.
