Etnisk diskriminering på den svenska arbetsmarknaden
This thesis examines the Swedish labour market with a focus on the immigrant part off the population. There are big differences between the immigrant and particular non-European immigrant part off the population and native Swedes. In the first part off this thesis I will show that immigrants in Sweden have a higher rate of unemployment, lower rate off employment, lower wage incomes, higher risk off unemployment and are overrepresented in low skilled, low status jobs. Even when controlling for different factors such as education level, knowledge in the Swedish language, age etc. a big gap remains.

This thesis work is about how technical consulting companies can accept their organization before a coming recession. Technical consulting companies are together with the rest of the actors in the construction business constantly depended on the current economic situation on the market. How to adapt the organisation depends on the current situation on the market.To adapt the organization in the best way possible the companies need to recruit and educate personal. It is then very important to find a solution on how the current change of generation in the companies will be handled. The large and very much competent group of 40-talists will in a few years retire.
Risken för diskriminering pga. etnicitet i samband med rekrytering
The purpose of this study is to investigate ethnic discrimination in the recruitment process. National and international law protect individuals from ethnic discrimination by potential employers during the recruitment process.Despite the laws in place to protect human rights, minorities in society do not have the same opportunities in the labor market as the rest of the population. Minorities continue to have difficulties compared to Swedish nationals in the recruiting process. Highly educated immigrants seeking employment in Sweden continue to report being treated unfairly based on their ethnic background.Ethnic discrimination in the recruiting process is based on prejudice and stereotypes that affect decisions whether it is visible or hidden, intentional or unintentional.Under the law, it is not legal to base a decision on prejudices or stereotypes. Therefore, it is important for the employer to highlight the job requirements to ensure the recruitment process is ethical.
Snart har vi väl ingen svensk flagga kvar : En triangulering av netnografisk observation och kritisk diskursanalys av aktivism på Facebook
The ambition of this essay is to examine if groups on Facebook are examples of ?slacktivism? and discuss which qualifications these groups have in order to provide a democratic conversation. The results will be discussed relative to democratic participant, information overload, interactivity and previous research. By nethnographically observing three groups and analyzing selected posts and comments with the critical discourse analysis one can see that slacktivism spreads easily by people liking and sharing posts from the groups to their friends. The particular groups that has been analyzed in this essay are committed to save Swedish traditions that they believe is threatened.
Färre och färre händer : intervjuer om morgondagens landskapsförvaltare i det småskaliga odlingslandskapet
This degree project is based on my personal relation and engagement to the small-scaled cultural landscape. My viewpoint is the village Torpa in Östergötland. My observations of the changes and development together with the stories of the village people has lead me to the questioning about the future prospects of the small-scaled cultural landscape. The rationalization of the society and our urban culture has lead to big changes in the cultural landscape and the people have reduced to a small crowd. Fewer and fewer hands are managing the small-scaled cultural landscape and fewer and fewer young people have connection to this kind of landscape and its management.
Vad motiverar 80-talister till att arbeta?
Det är ett faktum att en stor generation så smått har börjat lämna arbetsmarknaden för att gå i pension, nämligen 40-talisterna. In tågar nya generationer, och bland dem, 80-talisterna, en ny stor generation som ska anamma arbetsmarknadens villkor och utma-ningar. Samtidigt så ställer arbetsplatser och organisationer i dagens samhälle allt högre krav på arbetstagarna, och det är av stor vikt att rekrytera, bibehålla, utveckla och moti-vera arbetstagarna för en lyckosam verksamhet. Just att motivera medarbetare har en tradition i ekonomiska medel som högre avkastning på kapital eller provision, men även inom området arbetsersättning sker det utveckling.Vad motiverar 80-talister till att arbeta? Den frågan är därför intressant att undersöka och ligger till grund för denna studie.
Det mångkulturella biblioteket : En studie av invandrares biblioteksvanor vid Biskopsgårdens bibliotek i Göteborg
In this diploma work we present the results from a study of how adult immigrants utilise the services provided by the public library in Biskopsgården, Gothenburg. A survey encompassing 51 library visitors of foreign origin and an interview with two librarians at the library were performed.The results from the survey show that the majority of the informants were male students inages from 26 to 45 years and that they had been living in Sweden for a maximum of five years. 73% of the informants used the library to borrow literature in Swedish, 53% to read newspapers and periodicals in their native language, 43% to borrow literature in their native language and 43% to read newspapers and periodicals in Swedish.These results were compared with two other related studies with which partial correspondencewas found. Bortglömd art på frammarsch : Om vad som utmärker manligt shoppingbeteende
Vi upplever att männen uppvisar ett förändrat shoppingbeteende, vilket bland annat visar sig genom ett större intresse för såväl modemagasin som modebloggar. Detta kan vara ett tecken på ökad individualisering, genom vilken mannen vill uttrycka sin identitet och självbild. Det blir därför viktigt för företagen att nå denna grupp.Uppsatsen syftar till att ge en mångdimensionell beskrivning av vad forskningen behandlat inom mannens, respektive kvinnans shoppingbeteende och hur det växt fram. Uppsatsen syftar dessutom till att, dels genom litteraturstudie, dels empirisk studie, undersöka, diskutera och tolka vad som utmärker mäns shoppingbeteende i Generation Y. Vidare syftar uppsatsen till att förutsäga vad som kommer att känneteckna det manliga shoppingbeteendet i framtiden. Vi har arbetat utifrån en kvalitativ metod för att på så sätt uppnå ett djup i uppsatsen.
GPGPU : Bildbehandling på grafikkort
GPGPU is a collective term for research involving general computation on graphics cards. A modern graphics card typically provides more than ten times the computational power of an ordinary PC processor. This is a result of the high demands for speed and image quality in computer games.This thesis investigates the possibility of exploiting this computational power for image processing purposes. Three well known methods where implemented on a graphics card: FFT (Fast Fourier Transform), KLT (Kanade Lucas Tomasi point tracking) and the generation of scale pyramids. All algorithms where successfully implemented and they are tree to ten times faster than correspondning optimized CPU implementation..
Främmande land, oklar framtid : En studie om möjligheter till utveckling utifrån olika livsförhållanden
Studien är uppdelad i tre delar och belyser den invandrade individens syn på sina möjligheter till utveckling i det nya landet. Första delen heter det ofrivilliga arvet, barn till invandrare och belyser unga invandrares syn på framtiden. Andra delen heter Det sociala skyddsnätet och belyser en rad olika skyddsnät och hur de hjälper den invandrade att komma på fötter i det nya landet. Tredje delen heter Akademisk relevans och belyser relevansen i utbildning för en individs integration samt hur Sverige som land tar vara på invandrares kompetens och erfarenheter från hemlandet. I samtliga delar berättar informanterna om med eller motgångar som de känt när de kommit till det nya landet..
Småskalig elproduktion i Arvika
Arvika Fjärrvärme AB, a district heating company from Arvika, today cover 74 % of their total energy production with biofuel wich runs a 16 MW bioler giving process water at saturated liquid state.In recent years Vaporel AB has introduced a new tecnique that gives an external generation of steam after boilers. The concept is built on an adiabatic pressure drop of the saturated liquid in a so called Flashbox which makes a small part of the liquid to evaporate. The generated steam is lead into a turbine where electricity is in a conventional manner.The purpose with this rapport was to do a basic study for the specific system at Arvika where it?s possible to see the potential production of electricity that follows an installation of a flasbox.The final goal was to introduce an economic analysis of a flashox installation at given conditions.To reach our goals we have created a model in Excel where we used the given conditions at Arvika Fjärrvärme to do our calculations. The model has been tested at three different states, of process water returning to potboiler, to be able to decide the optimal operation for the system at present.The studies have resulted in a pressure of the processwater at 14,5 bar (at) and a pressuredrop to 9,5 bar (at) in the flashbox.

The purpose of this essay is to display the double moral that is prevailing in France concerning human rights. Immigrants and ethnic minorities are suffering from discrimination as well as racism. By looking at legislation in France concerning FGM/C and its difficulties it becomes clear that there is a correlation between the legislation and African women's situation in general. These women are denied their basic rights and are excluded from society. They are rendered invisible and vulnerable.
Hur invandrarungdomar tillgodogör sig svensk musikundervisning utifrån musiklärares perspektiv
Music has a role to play in every country and every culture. Sweden today is a country whith many different cultures, religions and music genres. The purpose of this investigation is to study how immigrants youths profit from music education on the basis of music teachers' perspectives. Questions at issue are: are there immigrant children/ youths who can not take part in music education? Have the students' religions any importance? Do the parents question the offered education? Is there more opposition to some specific kind of music? Are teachers avoiding to present some music? Can music education help the immigrant youths to form their identities? I have used questionnaires and I have made five interviews.
Crossmediadesign : Den unika processen
I denna artikel ämnar vi, genom att studera olika modeller med stöd för olika designsituationer, att skapa en modell som specifikt stöder design av crossmediaproduktioner då en sådan inte existerar i dagsläget. Genom att själva arbeta med en crossmediaproduktion för Non smoking generation fick vi chansen att på nära håll studera designprocessen och kunde på så sätt identifiera dess beståndsdelar och aktörer. Baserat på dessa och i kombination med teorier om design och crossmedia kunde vi skapa en egen modell som kan stödja framtida designers och producenter i deras arbete med designen av crossmedia..
Mötet med det otänkbara : Värdekonflikter i mötet med kvinnor utsatta för kvinnlig könsstympning
When professionals meet people from other cultures, there are some problematic issues that may appear, especially when considering human rights. Every individual has the right to live as they choose, and have the right to their own culture and traditions even if they have immigrated to another country. Female genital mutilation is a tradition that violates human rights. In this study we will look at what conflicts of values that professionals can have while meeting clients who have been mutilated. We have made qualitative interviews with four professionals working in a small town in Sweden in an area where many immigrants live.
