The aim of this thesis was to describe the services offered to students with dyslexia, and from a service- and quality perspective describe how the consumers of these services experienced the supplied services. Dyslexia refers to certain problems with the written language. With the demand for students in higher education to accumulate much knowledge through reading, this becomes a question of vital importance. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, and a case study was conducted. The case study covered 'Student support' at the University of Borås and how dyslectic students at the university experienced the help from 'Student support'.

The first of January 2005 all companies listed on a stock exchange within the European Unionhad to implement International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS) in their annual report.But is this regulation for the good or worse and does the benefits outweigh the cost? The goalwith the regulation is to make it easier for investors, shareholders and other stakeholders tomake financial decisions, compare domestic as well as international companies at the samecondition. One of the differences with the introduction of the new regulation is IFRS 3 thathandles business combination and how goodwill and intangible assets from the acquiredcompany should be accounted for. The objectives of our dissertation is to identify those listedcompanies that have made one or more acquisition between the years 2005 to 2006 andmeasure their level of disclosure concerning goodwill and intangible assets through theacquisition. We concluded trough the results that positive accounting theory and systemorientated theory didn?t explain all the verities in the companies? disclosures.

Flexibilitet är ett hett ämne i diskussioner kring arbetsmiljö och i det här arbetet presenteras en undersökning gjord kring just flexibla arbetskontrakt inom handikappsomsorgen i Ronneby kommun. De grupper som deltagit har varierande grad av flexibilitet i sina arbetstidsmodeller och undersökningen har främst gått ut på att se om flexibiliteten påverkar stressnivå och upplevt självbestämmande hos personalen Resultaten tyder på att en hög grad av självbestämmande ger en låg arbetsrelaterad stressnivå och även att en ökad grad av flexibilitet i arbetskontrakten bidrar till just detta.Undersökningen genomfördes med enkätutskick till personalgrupperna i två omgångar, i december 2004 och i april 2005, enkäter skickades även till två kontrollgrupper i Karlskrona kommun. Enkäterna skickades två gånger då en arbetsgrupp i Ronneby böt arbetstidsmodell vid årsskiftet 2004/2005 och fick avsevärt mer flexibilitet i sitt schema. Det var därför intressant att studera hur förändringen påverkade gruppen. Samtal har också genomförts med personalgrupper, enhetschefer, projektledare och fackligt ombud efter första enkätutskicket för att få en vidare bild av organisationen.Från svaren på enkäterna kan slutsatsen dras att mer flexibla scheman ger en lägre upplevd stress.

The main purpose of this essay was to study how the social service and the lawcourt have implemented the UN Convention on the Right of the Child, particularly incorporating the childs best interest in social services, child welfare investigations and the lawcourts judgement. We considered how the needs of the child, and the will and view of the child was documented. Also how the parents capacity and the environment factors, were documented in the social services investigations and the lawcourts judgement. The study was based both as a literature study and a document analysis. We analysed ten child welfare investigations from a social service office and their belonging lawcourt judgements.Our conclusion of the study is that the child is in focus both in the investigations and in judgement.

Generally stated, the CGB department is committed to the generation and management of genetic information by approaches aiming at elucidating the connection between genes, protein and function.WiGID is a genome information database that is available through WAP (Wireless Application Protocol).Our version of WiGID is based on WML, PHP and PostgreSQL as a database server.One of the changes on the old WiGID application was the creation of a relational database with seven tables and one view, instead of the file that represented the database on the old version. We also changed the script language from python to PHP.The search engine ability has been extended with three new search alternatives for a user to choose from. Each choice leads to other, sometimes multiple choices.A GUI has been created for the administrator, to be able to insert information into the database.The structure of the search engine is primarily for narrowing down the search result on the phone display, thereby making the search efficient..

Customer information is to be seen as an essential part in service development. The company should be aware of how their customers experience their services. The company can get access to customer information through complaints from their customers. All information obtained from the customers is not possible to use when developing new and existing services. The information has to be analysed before it is possible to use it for service development.This paper describes if Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) uses their customers as a source of knowledge when developing new and existing services and in that case how.

The aim of this study was to examine and compare two municipalities? approaches to deal with men?s violence as a social problem. Further the aim was to analyze social workers? opinions about interventions for men who practice violence in heterosexual relationships. The study has got a qualitative approach and we did a subjective selection where we chose to apply semi-structured interviews with social workers who work with domestic violence.

The purpose of this bachelor?s thesis is to examine how students at Högskolan i Borås experience the web-scale discovery service Summon, based on the theoretical model of ?The Five Dimensions of Usability?, defined by Whitney Quesenbery. The study aims to answer the following research questions: How do the students execute search assignments in the Summon interface? How intuitive and easy to navigate is the system from a user perspective? What are the students? opinions about Summon, regarding usability?Five students with varying information seeking skills are asked to perform search assignments during controlled observation, followed by semi-structured interviews. Our findings are presented in the context of previous research and show correspondence with the results of related studies.

The aim of this study was to, using previously collected data from self-declared antisocial behaviour questionnaires, examine if the crime frequency has been different between adolescents that have either been referred to two different forms of open care in social service, child and youth psychiatric inpatient care or have been sent to Homes for Specialised Supervision. The criminality frequency and the most common crimes committed were compared between the study groups and further between genders in each particular study group. Statistical significance testing was used and the results of the survey revealed that juvenile delinquents that had committed severe criminal acts were represented in all four groups. The study group with adolescents in national care was the most different from other groups. These youths seemed to have had a lower crime frequency than the other groups with the exception assault and robbery.

The interest in companies that are based outside the cities has grown, and many of these companies have focused their activities around service. The countryside companies meet some difficulties in marketing and communication with other entrepreneurs. A network with service based companies in the countryside could help the individual companies to promote themselves and also give inspiration and new ideas to develop their business. The aim of this study is to investigate how a countryside network can be organized but also what conditions is needed to make the network function. The theory is based on a literature study of the three major topics "countryside", "networking" and "marketing".

Denna uppsats har till syfte att studera den svenska folkhälsans utveckling. Hur mår vi idag i förhållande till förr med utgångspunkt i dödlighet, sjukskrivningar och förtidspensioner under perioden 1970-2005? Den del av folket som behandlas är den arbetsföra gruppen mellan 25-64 alternativt 20-64 år. En annan del av frågeställningen har varit att beskriva den trendmässiga utvecklingen för dessa aspekter och se hur de har förändrats från 1970-talet fram till idag.För att utforska detta ämne har en kvantitativ metod vidtagits och statistik över den nämnda tidsperioden har illustrerats grafiskt samt analyserats via regressionsanalyser.Om vi ser på den utveckling mortaliteten genomgått över tid så ser det ljust ut. Den totala mortaliteten avser då alla dödsfall som drabbat gruppen 25-64-åringar.

This thesis has been performed for the company System Andersson as a part of the bachelors degree in information technology at the School of Engineering in Jönköping. The thesis is based on the development of an iPhone application.System Andersson has an application for Android that is being used for their MPS system (material and production control system). Their customers, however, have also showed interest in being able to use this application for iPhone.The students handle the subject of iOS developing, including the design of the application, the use of the development language Objective-C, the use of the scripting language of Json used for server connections and SQL.The primary goal with this thesis has been to improve the students knowledge in such subjects as application development for mobile platforms, in such areas as Xcode, which is the development platform that Apple uses and Objective-C, which is the development language being used. The result of this thesis is an almost fully functional iOS application, similar to the Android application with some functionality missing..

Laws, regulations and generally accepted accounting principles hold options on how companies should recognize revenue. Generally accepted accounting principles are determined by standard-setting bodies as the Accounting Standards Board and the Financial Supervisory Authority, which is influenced by international standard-setting bodies as the IASB. Service revenue is generally recognized when performance is completed, but there are variations in when a performance is considered complete. The different accounting options available create difficulties in comparing companies over time and between companies, which in turn creates difficulties to achieve a true and fair view. By clarifying what methods and principles in accounting for service income the unlisted companies in Sweden are using and why these differences exist, we have been able to study how the comparability and the true and fair view is affected by these differences.

Syftet för utvärderingen är att, genom en enkätundersökning, försöka besvara hur nöjda besökare med annat modersmål än svenska är med Ålidhemsbibliotekets verksamhet. Utvärderingen utgår från två huvudsakliga frågeställningar: [1] Vilka är användarna i den aktuella målgruppen? [2] Hur upplever personer med annat modersmål än svenska biblioteket på Ålidhem? Informanterna i undersökningen talar elva olika språk och kommer från fjorton olika länder. Det vanligaste språket bland informanterna i undersökningen är arabiska. Det är en jämn köns- och åldersfördelning bland informanterna i undersökningen, men biblioteket har bara ett fåtal besökare i åldersgruppen mellan 20 till 30 år.

Our study shows if and how Swedish public service television has changed its content from the time when SVT had monopoly until this day when the competition is greater than ever. We got an insight in what has been presented to the audience by studying TV schedules from 1975 to 2009. The study examines four weeks during the years when the two main channels SVT1 and SVT2 have been broadcasting. One week each of these following years have been examined: 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2009. These years have been chosen to get an insight in what content the TV schedules presented before and after SVT got competition in the Swedish TV market.
