This thesis of 15 hp has been implemented at Halmstad University, in collaboration with Saab Dynamics in Linköping. Saab Dynamics is a company operating in the defence industry where competition is tough. This necessitates new ways to increase efficiency in the company, which is the basis for this thesis. Saab Dynamics wants to introduce simulation driven design. Since Saab Dynamics engineers have little experience of simulation, required a user methodology with clear guidelines.

This examination work is the final work in our education to become a Bachelor of Science inMechanical Engineering by the University of Lund.The main purpose with this work has been to develop a new effective material handling system for TPPM AB in Lund since the existing system starts to become out of date. The future system that is going to be installed shall have the capacity to support all machines with unit-, semi- and finished goods during full production. The work has also included studying the possibilities to change the material flow in a positive way between the storage and the production when one is using existing buildings.During our work we have been used a simulation program called AutoMod, performing company visits, interviews and reviewed internal and external information to create a picture of what the best conclusion can be. During the work we have contacted five suppliers to receive system solutions and quotatioris. The suppliers, which have been contacted, are Swisslog, Moving, Rocia, Christensen & Hansen and ABB.

Problem: Hur har dessa förändringar påverkat transporterna hos Postens kunder? Behöver de idag åka kortare eller längre för att komma till ett serviceställe eller till kassaservice? Har de bytt transportsätt?Hur har detta sin tur påverkat miljön i fråga om avgaser och utsläpp, framför allt koldioxidutsläpp?Har det medfört en positiv eller negativ förändring i miljöpåverkan?Syfte: Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur transporterna och dess miljöpåverkan hos Postens kunder har förändrats i och med omstruktureringen i två serviceområden, Gävle, representerat av Gävle kommun, och Halmstad, representerat av Falkenberg och Halmstad kommuner. Detta görs genom att genomföra en postenkät.Metod: Efter att ha fått problemformuleringen gjordes en postenkät. Denna skickades ut till 1000 personer i tre olika kommuner. Utifrån de svar som kom in på enkäten gjordes en analys med hjälp av ett statistikprogram och resultaten analyserades sedan för att få fram ett svar på problemformuleringen.Slutsatser: Beteendet hos Postens privatkunder har inte förändrats mycket.

The study also consists of a valuation of what an emballage supplier can offer to add value to their services.Method: The study is based on interviews with people who are working at Volvo Logistics and Volvo Car Corporation. Volvo Logistics provide their customers with standard packaging material, which they own and administrate. Volvo Car Corporation is one of their customers.

This degree project deals with the concept of creativity and the creative output based on howSwedish upper-secondary design teachers within the Technical Engineering Programexperience this from a student's perspective. The project discusses how the concept creativityis interpreted and how the creative output is regarded by educationalists and professionaldesigners and how this then can be related to literature on the subject and in the steeringdocuments. The purpose of this degree project is to visualize the interviewees' viewpoint oncreativity and the significance of experience, skills, and environment for the creative outputand within the field of design. This in order to, in the pedagogic and didactic situation, enablethe improvement of teaching so that creativity and its output come to show. Moreover, theproject aims to create a ground for discussion of the view of the importance of these skills inthe pedagogic/didactic situation.In order to reach this aim, I have read literature on creativity from several perspectives andcarried out eight qualitative structured interviews: both with three educationalists withoutexperience within the design profession, and with two educationalists who are or have beenactive within the design profession, as well as with three professional designers.

This degree project has been carried out by Carolina Rapp and Jenny Tauson, students at Innovation and Design Engineer program at the Faculty of Technology and science at Karlstad University. The project was carried during Spring of 2009 and took 15 weeks of full time work.  Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group is an Austria/Switzerland corporate group and its associated company Doppelmayr Scandinavia lies in Sunne, Sweden. Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group is the world quality and technology leader in ropeway engineering. The degree project goal was to develop a new shaping of a surface lift. There are two kinds of surface lifts, platter and T-bars. The two kinds of surface lifts have some variation in design but only minor differences.

For the manufacturers to be able to grow they have to compete for the existing consumers. The problem is for the manufacturer to protect its consumers and still be able to gain consumers from its competitors. Purpose: Our ambition is to study consumers brand loyalty for daily groceries, with the purpose to understand how loyalty starts, how it can be strengthened, and how it can be broken.

This essay deals with ruins from the perspective of their cultural values ??and the impact of add-ons, protective add-ons and caring actions affect these values. The issues in the essay are; What are the cultural values of a ruin?  How have ruins been used?  How are ruins treated today?Initially the definition of the concept ?ruin? is discussed, what is a ruin? A building has an architectural biography: the creation, destruction, change and the decay. The concept of ruin is considered to be a state of this decay, rather than a dead building.

Bakgrund och problem: Flygfältsbyrån AB, med det rörelsedrivande dotterbolaget FBEngineering (FBE), förvärvade AEC år 1999. På grund av de senaste årens minskadeefterfrågan har de varit tvungna att reducera antalet anställda eftersom företaget gåttmed förlust. Det kan delvis bero på att de har haft en otydlig strategi och blivit vadMichael E. Porter kallar ?stuck in the middle?.

Företaget Duroc Engineering AB tillverkar lasersvetsade produkter till flertalet olika industrier. Lasersvetsningen innefattar främst lasercladding, vilket är en metod där maskinen svetsar på ett ytskikt av metall på en befintlig metallbas. I denna process smälter en laserstråle ett finkornigt metallpulver, som sedan sprutas in i processområdet med argongas.De flesta produkter som företaget lasersvetsar är av axeltyp, därför använder laseroperatören en rotationsenhet i vilket axelmaterialet spänns upp i. På andra sidan av rotationsenheten har lasermaskinen en dubbdocka, detta för att stötta upp axeln likt en konventionell svarv.Duroc använder idag en fast rotationsenhet som bultas fast i golvet, vilket har ett nät av precisionsborrade hål. Processen med att ställa in dubbdockan för olika längder av axlar är tidsödande och kräver många justeringar innan axeln slutat kasta.Examensarbetet baseras på att utveckla en dubbdocka med längdjustering i z-led likt det som används i en vanlig svarv.

Distrilux International AB, a company within the Electrolux-group, works among other things with storing of products from other companies in the Electrolux-group. This rapport contains a cost analysis of the two Distrilux warehouses in Motala and Mariestad. The company offers five services in these warehouses, in-loading of products from a local factory and from external factories, storing, out-loading of products to Sweden (domestic) and for export. Since there has been some hesitation of the accuracy of the price-model of today, a master's thesis has been advertised. The purpose of the thesis has been to investigate the agreement of the price-model of today and the apportionment of the costing in warehouses.The main problem is to determine which activities is to be considered important in the price-model.

This study was a final thesis, for the bachelor program in civil engineering at theUniversity of Uppsala, which was made on behalf of Riksbyggen in Uppsala. Acomparative study of two stain renovation methods; tradition pipe replacement andrelining was done with an environmental perspective. A simplified life cycleassessment (LCA) was done according to the International Organization ofStandardization (ISO) with the LCA tool Eco-indicator 99, in order to be estimate theimpact on the environment. LCA is a method that follows a product or a system?from the cradle to the grave?, which means that all the environmental impact over alifetime is considered.The work was executed by using a stairway with nine apartments in a house called?Uppsala Hus 9? as a reference object, which was provided by Riksbyggen.

Att säkert navigera ett fartyg in till eller ut från en hamn är ett av de svårare momenten inom sjöfarten. För att underlätta uppgiften har man under lång tid använt sig av lotsar ? erfarna sjömän med hög grad av lokalkännedom som assisterar fartygets ordinarie besättning med navigering och andra uppgifter relaterade till en säker passage genom farleden och hamnen.Ny teknik, tillsammans med ekonomiska och säkerhetsmässiga överväganden, har lett fram till frågan om det i någon mån är möjligt att bedriva lotsning från andra platser än från fartyget självt, s.k. fjärrlotsning. Att överföra lotsningsfunktioner från en fartygsbrygga till ett landbaserat kontrollrum är emellertid ingen trivial fråga.

Sammanfattning? ett förslag till levande centrum Mariastaden.Detta examensarbete utfördes för att undersöka möjligheterna till att skapa ett centrum/mötesplats i Mariastaden, Helsingborg. Arbetet skall även ge förslag till hur ett eventuellt centrum/mötesplats skall utformas.Mariastaden är ett gammalt sjukhusområde strax utanför Helsingborgs centrum. Detta område avvecklades som sjukhusområde så sent som början av 1990-talet. Nu har de gamla sjukhusbyggnaderna och personalbostäderna renoverats och byggnaderna har fått nya användningsområden.

The three nuclear reactors in Forsmark together produces approximately one-sixth of Sweden?s electricity consumption each year.The background of this study is that a large number of requests come to the purchasing department with incomplete information. Usually it is in the description of what is to be acquired as the information is incomplete, but also in knowing when Quality Control-functions (QC) is supposed to be used.The aim of this work is to describe and analyse the material acquisition process.
