Volvo Penta i Vara tillverkar diselmotorer för marint bruk. Nya materialfilosofier har ändrat förutsättningarna för materialflödet ute i produktionen. Även ökade krav på miljö och säkerhet gör att Volvo Penta i Vara vill se över sin layout för att kunna effektivisera de interna transporterna och därmed göra fabriken säkrare.Detta arbete avser monteringen på Volvo Penta och har skett parallellt med Marcus Nordberg som tittat på bearbetningen och målning/pack.Syftet med arbetet är att ta fram ett förslag på en ny layout som kan gynna fabriken med hänsyn till de nya förutsättningarna som gäller för materialflödena och bidra till en renare och säkrare miljö. Genom att kartlägga materialflödet i fabriken kan en nulägesbeskrivning sammanställas och med denna kan en ny layout tas fram. En jämförelse med nuläget ger faktaunderlag för att visa vad en ny layout kan medföra.En frekvensanalys gjordes på de artiklar som i dag körs av gaffeltruckar för att skapa en uppfattning om materialflödet.

This report is the result of a thesis work carried out on the Risifrutti production at the company Procordia Food AB. The thesis is at a master level and is the final work for the author to receive a Master of Science in Innovative production at Mälardalen University. The thesis comprises 30 credits and has lasted for 18 weeks. The thesis is mainly a research on whether it is possible to perform an Environmental Value Stream Map (E-VSM) in a food processing industry and an evaluation if the tools E-VSM and Green Performance Map (GPM) are useful in this type of industry. An extra part to this research is to use the results from the E-VSM and give Procordia Food AB information on improvement potentials in the Risifrutti production. The author has found it difficult to collect some of the quantitative data to the E-VSM, mainly regarding energy, but by using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool and other Lean tools the author was able to identify and quantify several wastes in the Risifrutti production. Recommendations for improvements based on these wastes have been given to the company. In the research part of this report the utility of the Value Stream Map, Environmental Value Stream Map and Green Performance Map in a food processing industry have been analyzed. The author has found that the Value Stream Map has been a useful tool since waste and unevenness in the tact of the production has been identified. The Environmental Value Stream Map and the Green Performance Map are also great tools when a company wants to analyze their environmental impact and then invest in environmental improvements. However, no profound energy analyzes has been done in the Risifrutti production because of the lack of energy meters for steam, electricity and compressed air in the production lines..

Vid kundorderstyrd produktion är det viktigt att identifiera begränsningar och balansera flödet för att uppnå högt resursutnyttjande och hög leveransservice. PartAB är ett tillverkande företag av prefabricerade badrumsmoduler. Produktionen är kundorderstyrd produktion med hög grad av kundanpassning, där bearbetningstiderna är långa och har stor variation.

How affected are the sugar production in Mozambique and Tanzania by EU sugar regime? What does the EU sugar reform constitute in these countries?Using theories regarding free trade and anti-free trade, I am able to answer these questions. The aim of this paper is to study how the various sugar agreements with EU affect the sugar production in Mozambique and Tanzania. Therefore I am using a method called a most similar system design in this comparative case study. The conclusion is that the EU sugar regime is the main reason to how the sugar productions in developing countries are.

The purpose of this report is to survey Swedex AB?s production costs and to gather all info into a manageable calculation tool. This was made by time and motion studies, interviews of the personnel. All factors were gathered into an Excel chart.The calculation was made according to an additional-charge-method that was considered to satisfy Swedex AB?s goal.

Hur man kan studera sin egen närmiljö för att upptäcka något nytt i sin vardag. Hur man kan ta plats, ockupera och interagera med hus, inredning, människor och material. FYROM has a long tradition of producing wine. Wine production in FYROM is one of the greatest contributors of the agricultural share of their GDP. The aim of the thesis is to see if the wine production in FYROM has a comparative advantage compared to other countries that produce wine and if FYROM is able to sustain the advantage in the future. The countries chosen for comparison are Bulgaria, Croatia, France and Italy. The methods used in the thesis are the Balassa Index and Porter?s Diamond of National Advantage.

Emhart Glass is the world?s leading manufacturer of equipment, controls and components to the glass container industry. The goal of this project has been to identify improvements and propose cost saving solutions when moving one of Emhart Glass work cells in Sundsvall. The changes shall result in improved work environment and increased product quality. Studien syftar till att erhålla en djupare förståelse av hur medarbetarna i den här specifika kontexten upplever den psykosociala arbetsmiljön. De frågeställningar som studien ämnar besvara är:-Vad innebär en god psykosocial arbetsmiljö för medarbetarna i organisationen? -Hur upplever medarbetarna den psykosociala arbetsmiljön i organisationen? Studien genomfördes med ett induktivt förhållningssätt.

Companies worldwide strive to reduce costs and capital tied up in stock. At the same time, the need for short delivery times requires efficient logistic flows. In order to meet customer demands an efficient warehouse activity is required.The purpose of this study is to develop a model for designing a warehouse system regarding to working environment and safety. The model is primarily designed and based on literature reviews of scientific articles and books, own knowledge and the authors previous work experience in the industry.The thesis has been done at Sandvik AB, the department Precision strip in Sandviken. Sandvik is a high-technology engineering group with advanced products and a world-leading positions within selected areas.

Syftet med studien är att öka vår förståelse för hur slöserier påverkar ett internt material och produktionsflöde i en producerande verksamhet, för att kunna ge förslag på effektiviseringar av denna process. Studien är utförd på företaget Växjöfabriken Produktions AB som är beläget i Växjö och utför skärande bearbetning på gjutgods. Efter att ha studerat befintliga teorier skapade vi vår teoretiska utgångspunkt med det urval av teorier som vi ansåg vara viktiga för studien. Från dessa genererade vi en analysmodell som sedan låg till grund för det fortsatta arbetet. Analysmodellen gav ett strukturerat arbetssätt för att samla in empirisk fakta från företaget som vi sedan använde för att göra en analyserande jämförelse med vår teoretiska utgångspunkt.

A mobile testing application using Unity was developed to analyse what impact button sizes and button layouts has on the accuracy of touch as well as the time to finish a labyrinth. This was tested on a Nexus 4 phone. 28 users navigated a small object through a labyrinth in which they collect keys to open the door to the exit. Each participant did the test 6 times with different combinations of button size and button layout each time, done in a random order. Hits, misses, completion time, order of button size and order of button layout was collected and then visualized using R.

In ambition to produce more and better harvests, artificial fertilizers are used to produce a better growth of crops in the agriculture landscape. This contributes to leakage of nutrients. Our forests also exhibit a leakage of nutrients. Air pollution contributes to more nutrients. High precipitation with high water flows as a consequence seems currently to occur more frequently in the county of Halland.
