1553-Simulator. In-/uppspelning av databusstrafik med hjälp av FPGA

At Saab Aerospace in Linköping, components for measurement systems to the fighter aircraft JAS 39 Gripen are developed. In this activity you sometimes want to record the traffic transmitted on the data busses that connects different sys-tems. This traffic on the data busses is using the military standard MIL-STD-1553. This project has aimed to create a system for recording and sending 1553-data. The system is used on an ordinary personal computer, equipped with a recon- figurable I/O card that among others has a programmable logic circuit (FPGA).

This report outlines the work to develop an iPhoneapplication from idea to released product. The project is a thesis which was commissioned by ICA AB (a major Swedish grocery chain). The report includes how the work has been carried out in practice and theory.

Vi lagrar data mer än någonsin. Idag lagrar vi enligt analysföretaget IDC1 (2007) upp emot 36 gånger mer information än vad vi gjorde under 1998. Men få tänker på säkerheten vid lagring av data. Med säkerhet menar vi här säkerheten att datan som lagrats fortfarande kommer att kunna öppnas om 15 -20 år. Med format i denna studie syftar vi huvudsakligen på filformat. HTML, JPEG, GIF, etc. är exempel på filformat i vilket information kodas för att kunna lagras.

Utvecklingen av energieffektiv teknologi i svenska datorcenter

This thesis investigate how energy efficient measures has spread throughout the data centers in Sweden. These questions are put up against a theoretical use of such concepts such as green IT, technological evolution, large technical systems and knowledge dissemination. These theories are used to answer the questions that are encountered during the study, such as how green IT is approached, how big of a role environmental thinking has had in the evolvement of these new technologies. The study has been conducted in a longitudinal manner, it is an observation of the phenomenon that is data centers over a longer period of time. 23 non structured interviews spanning over 27.5 hours of recorded material have been conducted alongside a study of archived material.

Modellering av 3D-miljöer utifrån geografisk data

Ofta är det mycket data som ska förmedlas till användaren.I de fall visuella representationer av simuleringen ska visas i realtid måste data sållas bort så att en interaktiv bildfrekvens uppnås samtidigt som betydelsefull information inte får försvinna.Vid Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut, FOI, används simulering och visualisering som ett verktyg för att studera de komplexa duellsituationerna mellan medel och motmedel (telekrigduellen). Ett verktyg har i detta arbete tagits fram för att kunna använda sig av de stora geografiska områden som behövs i simuleringarna.Resultatet av arbetet är en applikation som utifrån geografisk kartdata skapar ett 3D-landskap som lämpar sig för realtidssimulering..

Ökat beslutsunderlag tack vare data warehouse/business intelligence

Arbetet beskriver ett systemutvecklingsarbete som innehåller kravfångst, analys och design av en data warehouse/business intelligencelösning till Svenska bordtennisförbundet. Svenska bordtennisförbundet/SBTF/ behöver utöka sitt beslutsunderlag för att kunna fatta strategiska beslut. SBTF behöver även få bättre kontroll på sin verksamhet för att kunna sätta, utvärdera och följa upp mål. SBTF önskar lösa detta genom att skapa ett data warehouse till vilket data från de olika systemen laddas för att därefter kunna presenteras för användarna genom business intelligence. I kravspecifikationen framkom att klubbarnas medlemsregister, alla tävlingsspelare, all träningsstatistik och de matcher som spelats i Sverige sedan 2011 var det dataunderlag som skulle ingå i ett data warehouse.

Tidssynkroniserade mätningar i vattenkraftstationer

Vattenfall and Svenska Kraftnät perform start-up tests, where hydropower generators are used to power up the electrical grid in case of a blackout. To monitor the electrical grid, Phasor Measurement Units (PMU) are used. Each PMU is individually equipped with a GPS-receiver to precisely timestamp the data relative to the official time UTC. During the test, it is also of interest to timestamp the measurement signals from individual hydropower generators to later compare with PMU-data, and thus study the power grids impact on the generator. The aim is to work out an appropriate method to make these measurements and to build a data acquisition system, capable of timestamp data relative to UTC, from a generator in one of Vattenfalls hydroelectric power stations. The problem is that the generator is located in an underground station which hampers the reception of GPS-signals and wiring should be avoided if possible. Time synchronization has been solved by using Vattenfalls network, which is synchronized by the network protocol NTP.

Undersökning av riskfaktorer med produktion och inmatning av data till en databas

Syftet med denna rapport är att undersöka vilka riskfaktorer det sociotekniska systemet bidrar med vid inmatning av producerade data till en specifik databas. Denna undersökning använder STAMP-metoden (Systems Theoretic Accidents Models and Processes) för att finna riskfaktorer i systemet. Metoden utgår från att samla data om systemet genom intervju, observation samt analys av annan dokumentation kring databasen för att sedan applicera STAMP-analys på dessa. Resultaten pekade på ett antal riskfaktorer vid inmatningen av producerade data, dessa kretsade primärt kring problem med existerande säkerhetsåtgärder, avsaknad av träning samt bristande kommunikation. Resultaten ledde till en slutsats om förbättringsåtgärder på dessa punkter.

It has further been discovered that when working with improvements businesses often sub-optimizes single processes instead of considering what benefits the entire company. Thus, when improving processes and activities it is important to have knowledge about and understand which factors that affect how the flow can be designed.Several studies have been performed with a wide perspective on process flows in order to obtain a more resource-efficient and value added flow.

At the end of 70s and the beginning of 80s, 18 terminals was built and used for chipping wood residue from clear cuttings. Most of the terminals was terminated before the 2000s but with the high oil- and energy prices that we can see today there might be a place for these terminals again. The goal with the study was to analyze and compare economical differences between 5 different logistical systems, collected data was used with a set of formulas. The systems include long range transport of slash, chips and bundles. Three of the systems include transport by lorry to industry the last two includes a terminal with access to train transport.

Ocean Modules Sweden AB is a small business active in the field of underwater technology. Thecompany was contacted by the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) in order todevelop a new system that would conform to their specific requirements. Two students at theRoyal Institute of Technology (KTH) were consulted in conjunction of this project in order to aidthe development and conceptual design of the system.The primary users of the system are the divers of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal division (EOD)- a branch of the Swedish Armed Forces. The purpose of the product was to incorporate allnecessary functions required by the EOD divers into one single system. The main functions arecommunication between the surface operator and diver, video recording, still imaging, positioning,navigation and ocean floor mapping with sonar.

These studies are done in behalf of Saab AB AVITRONICS in Järfälla in the form of a thesis atthe Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.The task was to examine the parameters that plays a role in the construction of modern radomesoperating in broadband applications.This was interesting for Saab to get an indication of which way they should go at the newdevelopment of radomes for the next generation of equipment for electronic warfare.After a thorough analysis of the influencing parameters, a optimization application was made toget a automated way to get a radome design by specifying data on the radome size, airloads,materials, etc.This is to minimise the time of the laborious work that radome development.inply.This was solved by letting ANSYS calculate the strength of the radome structure and MATLABcalculate electromagnetic data and cost models of different sizes and materials.All these parameters woven together with the optimization tool modeFrontier picks data from therespective program and perform an optimization algorithm and then iterate a step and sends thisdata to calculation programs for the new input data. In the end, we have received a convergedpoint with our optimal solution.For the presumptions and limitations for which applied for this thesis, the result was prettyintuitive. That is to say that the smaller radome - the less materal is needed and lowermanufacturing costs results in the cheapest solution possible. The reality is not so simple.
