Through our study we have found that there are moresimilarities than differences in leadership styles. The dominant leadership style of managers in both private and public sector is the democratic leadership style, often in combination with other styles; most notably the authoritarian leadership style. Vad påverkar fjärrvärmepriser i Sverige?: En ekonometrisk analys

The purpose with this thesis is to analyse different factors that can explain district heating prices for energy companies in Sweden. We are further interested in examining if the prices is affected by the use of industrial waste heat in their production and the company?s ownership structure. The method applied is a multiple regression analysis using a panel data set of 50 companies over 5 years (2008-2012). The data used is yearly data obtained from the Swedish district heating association.

Gränsen mellan publikt och privat på Twitter : En studie om svenska twitteranvändares syn på delning av privat information på Twitter

In this report we make an attempt to analyze where Swedish Twitter users believe the line is drawn between the private and public. Our goal is to find out what the factors are that determine what they decide to write on Twitter and what not. A survey was sent out and spread amongst Swedish Twitter users during one week to provide us with the data to answer our question formulation. The results do not draw an exact line between the private and the public but it nevertheless provides us with an idea of what users think is inappropriate to write about on Twitter. Through the study we found out that our respondents believe that it is inappropriate to write private information about others than them self.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and to increase the understanding of the negotiation process between the public- and the private sector in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). I have chosen to explore the first ?real? PPP project in Denmark, the construction of Vildbjerg compulsory school in the municipality of Trehøje.This case study is based upon a qualitative method consisting of interviews with the leading negotiators from both sectors. Two different theoretical perspectives are used to construct the basis of the analysis - The Theory of Public-Private Partnership and Negotiation theory - and serve as a concept instrument.The result of the analysis indicates that the negotiators from the different sectors have problems to get out of their traditional roles as purchaser and contractor ? in PPP they should act like partners.

Ekonomisk kompensation vid föräldraledighet, vadå? Utifrån arbetsgivarens perspektiv

The purpose with this essay was to analyse the view of parental leave in the public and private labour market. How does the economical compensation affect the parent's use of parental leave, with focus on the fathers "earmarked" months? Were there any differences in private companies and public organisations? We chose to look at past research and theories about father/men's usage of "60 day parental leave" from a point of gender and equality perspective. In regard to our questions we preformed qualitative, semi structural interviews. We picked people at random to interview at both private companies and public organisations that had or had not extra economical compensations except what the social insurance office paid during parental leave.

Private Equity i Sverige : En fallstudie om hur buyout inriktade private equity bolag i Sverige arbetar med sina investeringar

Syftet med denna uppsats är att skapa mer förståelse kring hur private equity bolag arbetar på den svenska marknaden och vilka investeringskriterier bolagen tittar på inför en eventuell buyout investering samt hur de långsiktigt jobbar med att förädlar sina investeringar. Det är även tänkt att uppsatsen ska ge en generell och informerande kunskap om private equity branschen.Författarna har valt att studera två private equity bolag vars fokus ligger på den del som benämns buyout och som är av olika storlek gällande förvaltat kapital samt investeringsområdenFör att lättare uppnå undersökningens syfte har författarna valt att undersöka ett investeringsfall från vardera bolag. Uppsatsen bygger på en flerfallstudie med en metodtriangulering där kvalitativ metod använts i form av två djupintervjuer och kvantitativ metod brukats vid analys av data från investeringsfallen.Författarna har genom studien kunnat dra slutsatsen att de viktigaste kriterierna som buyout inriktade private equity företagen fokuserar på är målbolagets mognadsfas, kassaflöde, tillväxtpotential, företagets marknadsposition och trend gällande industrin. Genom analysen har det framkommit att private equity företagen investerar i mogna företag och arbetar med ett aktivt ägande genom styrelsen för att skapa ett långsiktigt värde. Förutom själva återbetalningen av skulderna skapas detta värde genom operationella och strategiska åtgärder där private equity bolagen bistår med sin erfarenhet och kunskap..

Private brands on special display

This thesis is concerning private brands on special display. ICA Gott Liv! was used as a study object and a latin square design was employed, using 2 ICA Kvantum stores. Two displays were built in order to compare which created the most awareness and interest, one with the best selling Gott Liv! product and one with four randomly chosen Gott Liv! products. The data was collected using triangulation, questionnaires, sales data and observations were conducted in the two stores. The results indicated that private brands works as well as manufacturer brands on special display and a display with four randomly chosen products creates more interest and higher sales than the display with the best selling product..

Management of Private Equity Investments: A Study of Swedish Biotech Investment Managers

The Private Equity industry has over the past years been booming and major external environmental changes have made the industry transform rapidly. Increased competition between Private Equity firms is one of the reasons why the industry has been and is being forced to focus more on addition of value through increased operational management. Consequently, the focus of value addition is by some said to be transferred away from deal making and financial skills, and into active operative management. This case study investigates how the portfolio management, and more specifically the measuring and management of performance, is carried out in a number of leading Swedish Private Equity funds with investments in the biotech sector. The biotech sector is characterized by extensive research and development, and many biotech companies often lack income and other measurable financial parameters in the initial phase.

The aim of this paper is to examine how these managers are experiencing their leadership in relation to conflict management, and if the managers leadership differs depending on private or public elderly care. The scarification frequency is low in the area. AB Hilmer Andersson want´s to know if the private forest owners want to scarify more than is done today. Good regeneration is important for private forest owners so they can have a long term forest management and economics of their forests. This academic study is done as an opinion poll. This thesis is about the idea of public transport and the discussions stirred in the media during changes in ownership. More specifically it is a study of the historical situation of Stockholm, Sweden, where the periods chosen are the 1910s, 1960s and 1990s.During the 1910s Stockholm?s first and largest tram company was taken over by thecity, and a period of public ownership began, which in the 1960s changed form whenthe county council took over the city?s principal authority and formed the politicallyadministered company SL (Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, Greater Stockholm LocalTransit Company). Between these periods the word kollektivtrafik (public transport)was established in the Swedish language.
