I denna studie undersöker vi om det förekommer earnings management i resultathöjande syfte bland svenska börsnoterade företag vid tiden av en nyemission. Studier om earnings management vid nyemissioner har gjorts förut av exempelvis av (Shivakumar, 2000). Han kommer fram till att earnings management förekommer tiden precis innan en nyemission. Vi hittar dock ingen studie utförd på svenska företag, vilket vi vill undersöka närmare. Syftet med resultatet av studien är att visa intressenter till företagen att de kan bli vilseledda när de ska investera sitt kapital när earnings management förekommer..

The credit rating industry is a complex and fascinating industry. Its history stretches back more than 150 years and has gradually increased in importance. During its history the dynamics of the industry have changed. The extended-principal-agent model was developed by synthesizing different principal-agent-relationships into one model. This model provides a holistic understanding of the credit rating industry and illustrates the interdependence between the different relationships.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate how one independent senior high school without a school library regards the role of school libraries. (What is their view of information literacy? Do they manage to reach the goals of Lpf 94 and the goals of each school subject without a school library of their own?). We have chosen to interview the principal and two teachers. Our major findings are that the public library in our study has been given the role of a school library, a role we think it can not fulfil.

This thesis examines the effects of the Swedish school reforms that took place in the early 1990?s. Theories such as Principal-Agent, Stewardship and Lipsky?s street-level bureaucracy are discussed as well as New Public Management (NPM). These reforms were heavily influenced by NPM, causing an increased level of street-level bureaucracy, and according to Principal-Agent theory some outcomes could have been predicted.

The purposes of this thesis is study the European Court of Justice from a non legal perspective and investigate the courts possibility to advance its own preferred goals rather that of the member states in cases of non-compliance. Drawing on general principal-agent theory I construct a model from which I derive certain hypothesis mainly about under what circumstances we should expect the Court to be more sensitive to member states preferences and under what circumstances we should expect the Court to be less sensitive. These hypotheses are then tested empirically against all cases of non-compliance initiated by the European Commission against member states between 1953-2000. The results from the study are rather positive. The most important result is that when the threat of sanctions against the Court increases so does the Courts sensitiveness to member states preferences and when it decreases so does the Courts sensitiveness..

Uppsatsen behandlar principal- agentproblematiken mellan aktieägare och vd. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka huruvida det finns ett signifikant samband mellan andelen rörlig ersättningsnivå till vd och företagsvärde mätt som Tobins Q. Data insamlas från Datastream samt årsredovisningar under åren 2004-2007 och regressionsanalys genomförs för att studera hur vd-ersättning samt andra kontrollvariabler (lönsamhet, kapitalstruktur och företagsstorlek) påverkar företagsvärdet. Resultaten visar att andel rörlig ersättning till vd samt företagsstorlek uppvisar ett positivt signifikant samband med företagsvärdet. Lönsamhet uppvisar starkast koppling till företagsvärdet.

Denna uppsats undersöker vad som definierar och karaktäriserar en företagsledare utifrån Agentteorin och Stewardship-teorin. Uppsatsen tar sin ansats i de båda teoriernas definitioner gällande agenten/stewarden för att försöka vidareutveckla resonemanget bakom denna definition och inkluderar därför Intressentmodellen och ansvarslitteratur. Uppsatsens syfte är att studera teoriernas dikotomi gällande agenten/stewardens karaktär genom en empirisk studie av sju olika företagsledare och därigenom testa vår uppställda hypotes om vad som karaktäriserar en företagsledare. Studiens resultat går i linje med hypotesen och vittnar om att en företagsledares karaktär främst definieras av tydliga ansvarskänslor mot företaget genom en avvägning mellan de intressen som återfinns internt och externt organisationen. Enligt Principal-Agentteorin bör incitamentsprogram vara utformade så att den verkställande direktören får incitament att utföra de handlingar som ökar aktieägarnas nytta. Detta kan ske genom optionsprogram. I denna uppsats undersöks huruvida institutionellt och utländskt ägande samt utländska styrelseledamöter driver fram optionsprogram i svenska börsbolag. För att utforska detta har vi samlat in datamaterial från 49 svenska företag noterade på Nordic Large Cap och sedan estimerat logitmodeller. Vi får inget signifikant resultat för vare sig institutionellt eller utländskt ägande.

The purpose of this examination is to get a view of the attitude towards internet-use within after school centers. By comparing the views of pupils with the teacher?s point of view, one can notice differences that may be due to a lack of knowledge or communication. The questions are: What view does the principal, the staff, and the pupils have on internet-use in after school centers? Does their view differ? If so, how? To be able to respond to these questions, the pupils and the staff have been handed surveys and the principal has been interviewed.

The thesis handles the principal-agency problem between shareholders and the Chief Executive Officer. The purpose of the thesis was to examine the link between CEO compensation and corporate performance measured as a change in Market to Book ratio. Data was collected from corporate annual reports between the years 2000 ? 2008 and the study covers 39 Swedish companies from the Stockholm Stock Exchange Large Cap list. To examine whether there is a link between the CEO´s compensation and firm performance, we performed a regression analysis, and no significant relation is found.

The aim of this paper is to see if Sweden has implemented the recommendations and taken notice of the guidelines for employment that the Commission and Council set up every year and from this see the role of the Commission and Council for the national employment politics. The years that I focused on in the paper are year 2000- 2004. The method that is used is a case study research that is exploratory and explanatory. The theoretical starting points are theories about delegation, cooperation and a variation of control and autonomy. This is recognized in the Principal- Agent theory and the Principal- Supervisor-Agent model.

År 2010 avskaffades revisionsplikten för små bolag i Sverige vilket gör att det numera är frivilligt för dessa bolag att ha en revisor. Det är kombinationen av Sveriges låga gränsvärden för undantagande av revisionsplikt, samt avsaknaden på tidigare forskning i en svensk kontext som motiverar denna studie. I denna undersökning, som bygger på ett slumpmässigt urval av 400 svenska små bolag, testas faktorer som i utländska studier tidigare funnits påverka efterfrågan på frivillig revision. Detta görs för att se om samma samband finns i Sverige. Vi förutspår att efterfrågan på revision påverkas av företagets storlek, skuldsättningsgrad, risk och ålder.

This research is about different perspectives, offered by three mother tongue teachers, one principal and also featuring a representative from Skolverket, on the subject: teacher legitimation for mother tongue teachers, mother tongue teachers opportunity for competence education and the future of mother tongue education in Sweden.The theoretical framework is mother tongue language, globalization, the post-colonial theory, power and social inequality. A qualitative approach was used including five interviews taken place in Stockholm, the results does not however represent the whole country nor the community of Stockholm itself.The result shows that mother tongue teachers thinks the teacher legitimation does not mean anything regarding their already low-status. Even principal and representative from Skolverket express their concern towards the 'non-demand' for mother tongue teachers to get their legitimation and they feel there is a lack of ambition from decisonmakers to include the mother tongue teachers.As per today there is no higher education for mother tongue teachers leading towards an exam. Mother tongue teachers are worried about their future although principal and representant takes a bright outlook. .
