This is a qualitative essay that has its starting point in the deindustrialized community in the county of Kalmar. At the time deindustrialization started, the globalization and the technical development took form, this resulted in increasing traveling in the world. The communities that had lost their industries had to find new ways of surviving. The politicians used the increasing travelling and tourism and saw a new industry in the tourism, therefore they made cultural heritage visible. Main focus lies in the will from politicians to visualize cultural heritage for economic gain and the administration of cultural heritage that in essence had to accept a new use of the cultural heritage.

Arbetet vill belysa en situation i bostadsbyggandet där två aktörer, en offentlig och en privat samarbetar om att uppföra ny bostadsbebyggelse. Ett bostadsbyggande som omges av komplexa lagar och strukturer. Stadsbyggnad handlar om hur, var och när. I Arkitekten beskriver Dan Hallemar (2004) hur Stockholm Stad använder tre principer för att bygga stad;princip 1) Låt gå principen; handlar om det goda samtalet mellan professionen och marknaden där det sedan ofta görs som marknaden vill, men andra ord uppnå höga byggsiffror på kort tid och undvika överklaganden. Till princip 1 hör exempelvis LUX- området på Lilla Essingen och Liljeholmskajen i Årstadal.

This thesis examines how teachers in physical education work with gender and gender roles in two religious schools in Stockholm. They act as bearers of power and presents the voters with finished packages of ideas on how society should grow, develop and change. Political parties are essential to the survival and wellbeing of representative democracy. Many theories have been developed over the years concerning matters related to political parties, but one area of research remains largely unexplored, namely the topic on why political parties do emerge in the first place.

This graduation thesis is about baths and beach like places in city centers. It focuses on recreation and the creation and development of public, social spaces in the city containing water as a visual and useable element. The thesis is divided into three parts; background, inspiration and application. The background examines four factors which we consider important for the occurrence of inner city baths; water, the history of bathing, inner city recreation and social life in public places. A discussion of the (future) importance of inner city baths and beach like places' is then presented. The inspirational part is divided into examples of existing places and examples of types of places. The first is used in an attempt to examine the function and importance of inner city baths and beach like places as well as the opportunities and challenges associated with them. The latter contains a presentation of six categories developed by us to facilitate the planning of inner city baths and beach like places.

This thesis is based on design theory about how to build an application for the mobile platform, a scientific analysis and an application for grocery shopping and meal planning. The thesis also contains a valuation of the research and of the application. The valuation of the application was done by a usability test and an analysis of the results of the test.The application of the thesis has an easy navigation system, which is time saving and simple to use. Finding recipes with the associated ingredients is a quick fix. The search function can be used for searching freely after recipes as well as for separate ingredients. That makes it possible for the user to create own recipes from available ingredients.

The main purpose of this thesis has been to address the problem connected with conservation ofspecific objects in historic buildings that have a protected building status. The immaterial demandsand environmental concerns of a place of cultural significance are discussed as opposed to the welladaptedsetting of a museum, with regard to long-term preservation. In an authentic interior of acertain era, large-scale individual treatments of the objects that define it and regulations forconservation-related reasons, may not be considered a worth-while effort, as it is often the integrityof the environment as a whole that has been declared as significant. To investigate the relationshipbetween object and its context, a case study has been conducted by examination of the propertycalled ?Curmans villor?, located in the seaside community called Lysekil.

During spring 2009 a three meter tall and laughing robot was developed in collaboration between Royal Institute of Technology and Royal University College of Fine Arts. The robots function and esthetics is based on an existing toy robot called Elmo. Elmo is 30 cm tall but now the goal was to make it 1000 times bigger in order to present it on the spring exhibition of Royal University College of Fine Arts. Due to only four months of developing and building time a demand of fast determination and good planning was required. In order to make a good structure for the project it is divided into five phases: Analysis of Elmo, planning, concept development, detail construction and finally product development and testing.In the first phase valuable knowledge is obtained according to the movements and geometry of Elmo.

Nethouse Sverige AB is an IT consultancy in need of a mobile solution to inform participants of in-house events and distribute news to their consultants working in the field. This report  describes the planning and development of such a solution. The result of this thesis is a three system-solution. A mobile application where it is possible to view news and information about in-house events, and also receive suitable notifications, a web service which assists the mobile application by providing the corresponding information and finally a website to manage the information and notify mobile clients..

This essays overarching aim is to contribute to the theoretical discussion of transformation processes that are shaping the urban landscapes and further to problematize contemporary planning discourses in Sweden. Drawing on the concept of Foucault?s heterotopia and actor-network theory for spatial analysis, the paper seeks to analyze the complex urban landscape transformation process as an emergent property of human and non-human actor-networks seeking to transform and order space. With the district of Rosenlund in Gothenburg as a starting point, this thesis intends to examine how the cultural infrastructure - used by the residents and visitors of the city - are related to the city's planning and development processes. The case study is based on a boat (Rio Rio) in Rosenlund canal that is defined as a cultural infrastructure.

This bachelor?s thesis examines the work with climate adaptation related to cloudbursts andhigh-water flows in three medium-sized municipalities: Lerum, Kungsbacka, and M?lndal.As climate changes progress, the risk of extreme weather events increases. This placesmunicipalities in an increasingly important position in planning and developing communitiescapable of managing a changing climate. The study aims to deepen the understanding of howmunicipal officials perceive the distribution of responsibility, collaboration, and capacity inclimate adaptation work.The study is based on a qualitative research design using semi-structured interviews withofficials working with strategic planning, water and sewage management, and climateadaptation. The theoretical framework draws on the concept of responsibility distribution,collaboration, and capacity.The results show that organizational conditions differ between the municipalities.

Det ligger ett stort ekonomiskt intresse i de näringar som finns etablerade i Sápmi och de naturresurser som ännu inte exploaterats. Norrländska älvar, skogar och mineraler bringar stora inkomster till Sverige varför det finns ett samhälleligt intresse i att ge goda förutsättningar för att utnyttja landets naturresurser. Mineralbrytning och vindkraftsparker är intressanta etableringar i både fjäll- och skogsland och högaktualiserar frågan om rennäringens fortsatta bedrivande. Det finns även andra ekonomiska intressen i fjällområdena bortom energiproduktion, gruvnäring och skogsbruk som gör anspråk på mark och vatten som omfattas av renskötselrätt. Omfattande intrång i renbetesmarker och hinder för den praktiska renskötseln utgörs nämligen också av turism och friluftsaktiviteter.
