Det romska återtagande av sin identitet - En undersökning av identitetspolitik hos romska organisationer i EU

This thesis is concerned with investigating the Roma, a group that is left out in most of the territory bound theories. The theoretical purposes are to develop theories that increase the understanding for the Roma as a diasporic nation without state and the advocacy networks they are organised in. The main empirical purpose has been to study two organisations as cases and how they position themselves against the European Union concerning identity politics. The two organisations are European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) and Dzeno. They are a part of the same network that works on different levels with the rights of Roma.

Mediegranskning- en komparativ studie om pressens rapportering av politiska skandaler de senaste tjugo åren

Denna studie grundas på huruvida media har blivit mer dömande än granskande i sina rapporteringar om högt uppsatta politiker över en tidsperiod på 20 år. Det som har granskats är tidningars rapportering då en högt uppsatt politiker bestridit över lagen. För att få en grundlig vetenskap om hur media fungerar i vårt samhälle är uppsatsen uppbyggd på kapitel som naturligt leder fram läsare till analysen. Till analysen har artiklar använts från två Svenska rikstäckande tidningar såsom Expressen och Dagens Nyheter. De politiska händelser som analyseras är Ebbe Carlsson- affären från slutet av 80- talet, Mona Sahlin från 90- talet och slutligen Laila Freivalds från 2000- talet.

AbstractDet finns skolor som anser att den japanska förhandlingskulturen och den kinesiska förhandlingskulturen är identiska med varandra. De sympatiserar för Raymond Cohens berömda klassificering om högkontextuella förhandlingskulturer. Enligt denna klassificering innebär det att förhandlingskulturerna i fråga inte skiljer sig åt. Men det finns andra skolor som anser att det är fel. De kritiserar klassificeringen och menar att den är för generell vilket medverkar till att olikheter inte framställs.Jag ska försöka konstatera vilka av dessa motpoler som har rätt.

En förändrad syn på våld mot kvinnor? - En granskning av hur svenska remissinstansers syn på könsmaktsperspektivet har förändrats under ett decennium

De flesta individer, myndigheter och samhällsinstitutioner erkänner idag att mäns våld mot kvinnor är ett stort samhällsproblem. Det finns emellertid inte någon gemensam syn på orsakerna till våldet, och som en följd av detta inte heller kring vilka åtgärder som är lämpliga att vidta. En uppdelning av förklaringsmodeller kan göras i dels avvikelseperspektiv som fokuserar på faktorer genom vilka våldsmännen avviker från icke våldsamma män, dels könsmaktsperspektiv som fokuserar på den strukturella obalansen i makt mellan män och kvinnor.I det svenska samhället har vi gått från en situation där avvikelseperspektiven ensamma har dominerat till ett läge där könsmaktsperspektivet vinner ökat inflytande. Regeringen har tillsatt utredningar som fokuserar på det sistnämnda perspektivet i utredandet av mäns våld mot kvinnor. Emellertid har utvecklingen inte inneburit att alla myndigheter och samhällsinstanser tagit till sig detta i samma utsträckning.

This thesis deals with the supranational organization of European trade unions. The European trade union movement is, via its umbrella organization the ETUC, an institutionalized social partner within the European Union. The ETUC is a very diverse organization with great potential of conflicting interest among its members. This thesis therefore seeks to explore the dynamics and interest heterogeneity of the ETUC. WTO - spelarena för utvecklingsländer? En studie om avgörande faktorer för utvecklingsländers förmåga att implementera sina regimpreferenser

This Bachelor Thesis is entitled "WTO-spelarena för utvecklingsländer? En studie om avgörande faktorer för utvecklingsländers förmåga att implementera sina regimpreferenser". Through our empirical results in conjunction with realist theories, this Bachelor thesis attempts to answer the questions: (1) How does the decline in American power, the nature of existing institutional structure and Third World unity, influence the ability of developing countries to secure its preferred regimes? (2) What function do informal meetings in the WTO have? (3) How does access to informal meetings influence the ability of developing countries to secure its preferred regimes? The paper makes use of case studies from the Ministerial meetings in the Doha development round.The conclusion is that access to these meetings is an important variable to explain the extent to which the Third World can be able to secure its preferred regimes. The degree to which developing countries can secure their preferred regimes is therefore a function of four variables: the nature of existing institutional structures; Third World unity, the attitude and power of the United States and foremost access to informal meetings..

In classic academic social studies of East Europe, terms as Communism and Post-Communism are commonly used to describe the main characteristics of this geographically imagined area. This paper makes a not so frequently seen attempt to apply Post Colonial Theory for the same field. With start point in Post Colonial theoretical writers, the author wants to find a East European Post Colonial version for the internal Europe which will supply tools for a discourse analysis of the European mind map divided into West and East. The material consists of interviews with three Swedish and three Czech officials, all working with European politics in their country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The analysis is carried out with inspiration of Ernesto Laclaus and Chantal Mouffes Discourse theory.

In the late 20th century there has been some changes in the public sector. These changes are described as New Public Management. When ideas from the private market is transferred to the public sector, for example to regard citizens as cus-tomer. Central in this paper is the use of term customer in the Swedish public sec-tor. There are two questions in the paper; which possibilities has a disappointed customer to effect the public sector, and what may happen with democracy, the common good, when the citizen becomes a customer?To answer the questions I study two different cases, Svedala kommun and the tax department, Skatteverket.
