The goal of this project was to make the requirement process at the Swedish Coastguard more effective. The first step to achieve this was done by locating bottle necks in the process with value stream mapping method. The result of this study showed that the biggest restriction in the requirement process was while examining older requirement documents to understand what elements were suitable for the particular project. This was followed by a study of literature, interviews and theory of Lean Production with the ambition to investigate how the requirement process was handled on other companies and how to improve the process on the Swedish coast guard. This led to a number of potential enhancements of the process which later was evaluated.

Det här arbetet utgör en av fyra delar i ett projekt om Sorgenfri industriområde. Detta examensarbetes undersökningsobjekt är småföretag (0-49 anställda). Syftet har varit att undersöka hur småföretag som hyr lokaler inom Sorgenfri industriområde vill att området skall vitaliseras samt vilka möjligheter dessa småföretag tycker att de har att påverka stadsdelen Sorgenfri. Arbetets övergripande slutsats är att problemet i första hand gäller hur kapaciteter som redan finns i Sorgenfri industriområde kan organiseras till en sammansatt policy (strategi), inte om resurserna som sådana är tillräckliga..

Regionalisation has become an increasingly important phenomenon in a globalized world. As models of regional integration, the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are two prominent examples. This thesis seeks to explore through a comparative analysis, the different mechanisms and institutions for handling breaches against fundamental values within the two regional organizations. Inter-linked with the issue of the legal-institutional framework is that of what values the mechanisms are designed to protect. The method used for the analysis is first and foremost that of public international and European law, but the thesis also attempts to give a broader picture of the issues presented.

In Sweden there is scepticism if there really is a difference between the two biggest political parties, the Moderate/Conservative party and the Swedish Social Democrats. The voters feels that the arguments used by both parties are more or less the same and that it does not matter on whom you vote. Hence I am going to compare the parties? policy programs, developed by the members in each party, by an analysis of ideas to see if the two parties are so similar that they hardly are two different options, or if there is a divergence between the two. My choosing of the parties? policy programs comes from a decision to look at the members? party, they are the authors of the programs, the core. I have to admit I am not unbiased in this work.

Thermal fatigue is a serious problem in todays power plants. A large amount of damages around the world circles around that subject. The damage can come from the mechanism of two flows mixing with different temperatures in a T-junction. It is a fundamental prerequisite that these T-junctions are frequently tested for damages. An amount of criterias steers the rate of testings.

På den teoretiska nivån finns stora konflikter mellan den liberala demokratin och ekologismen. Med bakgrund av konflikten mellan ekologismens skyldigheter och liberalismens rättigheter är uppsatsens syfte att undersöka huruvida dessa konflikter existerar och utgör ett problem i skolans verksamhet. Detta blir relevant att studera dels på grund av att Agenda 21-handlingsplanen tillskriver skolan ett stort ansvar när det gäller att utbilda miljömedvetna medborgare och dels på grund av att begreppet hållbar utveckling fått allt större prioritet på den politiska dagordningen i de liberala demokratierna.

?How does the Turkish debate appear concerning the EU-discourse in relation to political conditionality? Is Turkey accepting the demands that are being made?? These questions are answered in this thesis through a qualitative document analysis of the debate concerning EU as it is in Turkish newspapers and statements made by Turkish political representatives. The debate is used to describe the association?s process in a candidate country through investigating how the process and the relationship between EU and Turkey are discussed within the country. The national debate is then used to compare with the accession process for the Central and Eastern European countries based on conditionality to discover if Turkey is different from other candidate countries and if so explain why.

Med anledning av att flera kriser av extraordinära slag har inträffat i fredstid har förmågan att hantera dessa fått stor uppmärksamhet. Ett exempel är stormen Gudrun som lamslog delar av Sverige i januari 2005. För att kunna hantera sådana kriser behövs en fungerande beredskap och här har kommunerna en viktig roll. Om kommunerna har en väl utvecklad krisberedskap kan samhället bättre klara av en kris. Genom utvärderingar och erfarenheter från kriser har det visat sig att samverkan mellan kommuner är av stor betydelse för en god krisberedskap.

The purpose of this paper is to compare the three search engines Web of Science, Google Scholar and MEDLINE in regards of recovery efficiency and the overlap of relevant documents when it comes to information searching for academic purposes. Furthermore, it raises the question whether freely available search engines and licensed search engines are interchangeable with each other. The empirical data in this study were collected through searches conducted in the three search engines Web of Science, Google Scholar and MEDLINE. Twenty search queries were used and the first twenty retrieved documents for each query were examined for relevance using previously designed criteria. The documents were scored by a binary relevancy scale and thereafter a precision value for each search engine was calculated.

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningarSyftet med studien är att genom ett hälso- och miljöpsykologiskt perspektiv ta reda på vad elever i årskurs sex och åtta har för lunchvanor under skoltid och vad som kan påverka dessa. För att uppnå vårt syfte har vi valt följande frågeställningar:På vilket sätt skiljer sig elevernas lunchvanor åt i olika åldrar i studien?Hur skiljer sig elevernas lunchvanor åt på olika skolor i studien beroende på vilken tillgång de har till närliggande matalternativ?Hur upplever eleverna i studien att de olika skolornas policy angående lunchvanor ser ut?MetodStudien är av både kvantitativ och kvalitativ karaktär och bygger på en enkät som undersökningsmetod.  Enkätundersökningen genomfördes i åtta klasser av totalt 177 elever i årskurs sex och åtta på två skolor i centrala Stockholm. Skolornas namn är fingerade till Ekorrens respektive Grävlingens skola.ResultatUr ett övergripande perspektiv var det inte så stor skillnad mellan de olika skolorna, däremot kunde en tydlig skillnad ses mellan de olika årskurserna. De yngre eleverna tenderade att ha sämre matvanor än vad de äldre eleverna hade.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how libraries use thetools and ideas from library 2.0 in their reading promotionwork. We also want to include how librarians motivate thisuse and whatever merits and faults they encounter. We haveperformed document studies and interviews which we thenanalyzed with qualitative content analysis. Our theoreticframework in this study which we also used as a part of ourcoding scheme in the analysis was a model over the conceptlibrary 2.0 developed by Holmberg, Huvila, Kronquist-Bergand Widén-Wulff. This model describes seven aspects oflibrary 2.0 which is users, participation, library and libraryservice, web and web 2.0, social aspects, technology andinteractivity.

We will cover why its hard to protect yourself, present previous attacks and ways for individuals and businesses to secure themselves. We have based our paper on previous cases and done intervjues with companies who specialize in dealing with these kind of threats. Then come up with guidelines wich will be helpful for businesses when they want to strengthen there security against Distributed Denial of Service-attacks..

As most developed countries Norway has an ageing population meaning that the number of pensioners is predicted to grow rapidly over the coming years. As a consequence the Norwegian pension system will not be able to provide for these future pensioners. Meanwhile, a rising number of early retirees and disability pension claimants is diminishing the real retirement age. Also the individual pension amount is growing while the pension system itself reaches maturity. In short, major reforms are needed in the Norwegian pension system.

Denna uppsats fokuserar på den etableringsprocess som har skett i Jönköpings kommun vid införandet av familjecentraler. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur införandet av familjecentraler kan förstås och genom det skapa fördjupad kunskap om etableringsprocesser i socialt arbete. Studien har genomförts i form av en fallstudie. Empiri har samlats in genom intervjuer och genom offentliga allmänna handlingar. Materialet har analyserats genom ett adhoc-förfarande inspirerat av fallstudieanalys.
