In the society of information that we live in the knowledge of computers and computer system will have a greater influence than we may think. Discrimination is no longer exclusively a term that indicates lesser understanding of different cultures, the discrimina-tion that is at hand will be between ?the have and the have-nots?.This study is about the strategic methods and considerations that is of importance for Planning, organizing and finally implement the work with national computer based patient documentation. The strategic Planning has been done over a period of time where different actors all had their share of influence. The cost seems to be endless since it has increased after the actual program, in this case, Cosmic from Cambio Healthcare, entered the scene of healthcare.

Klimatförändringar kommer med största sannolikhet att orsaka en höjning av havsnivåerna och ökade nederbördsmängder. Detta, tillsammans med en fortsatt exploatering i riskutsatta områden orsakar större konsekvenser av översvämningar i framtiden. Tidigare har människan skyddat sig från översvämningar med hjälp av tekniska strukturer som vallar och barriärer. De senaste 10-20 åren har det i flera europeiska länder skett ett skifte från dessa tekniska lösningar mot ett ?mjukare? handlingssätt för att förebygga och hantera översvämningar i policydokument och rekommendationer från ansvariga myndigheter.

To thoroughly think with safety and security in mind is an important issue in Planning of public city spaces. Spaces intended to be available to all inhabitants of a city should have a welcoming appearance. Unfortu-nately, this is not the situation in many pedestrian walkways, parks and such spaces, possibly due to lack in safety and security. This master thesis intend to examine questions at this issue ? what makes you feel safe and what causes insecurity in public city spaces. The safety aspect treats the human psychological and sociological ways of perceiving her milieu and other humans in it, and how the physical shape of her surroundings can affect the sense of safety.

Sveriges demografiska utveckling visar att fler och fler bor i tätorter samtidigt som resandet ökar. Det skapar efterfrågan på bostäder i tätorter med god tillgång till kommunikationer. Boende nära kollektivtrafiknoder ger god tillgång till transporter samt möjlighet för god service, men en av dess baksidor är buller. Bostäder i tätorter planeras genom detaljplaner. Kommunen är ansvarig för planeringen samt att ta andra aktörers åsikter i beaktning.

ABSTRACTDuring the last decades, environmental impacts have increased significantly, much due to the great traffic flows within cities. Therefore, to reduce these impacts and encourage a healthy way of living, it has in recent years become vital to generate safer and more sustainable and flexible modes of transportation. In order to do so, authorities and physical planners must work together to find viable solutions to incorporate in the infrastructure and offer alternative transport modes ? such as walking, cycling and public transportation. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the development of the cycling infrastructure in the city of Västerås and whether it is possible to expand bicycle commuting alongside public transportation. The thesis consequently aims to study how different physical planners within Västerås municipality work with traffic related questions.

Swedish libraries are currently discussing andimplementing the classification system Dewey (DDC).Most libraries in Sweden have used the Swedishclassification system SAB until recently. In 2008 TheRoyal Library of Sweden (KB) decided to switch fromSAB to DDC. Many academic libraries chose to followKB?s example and by January 2011 a switch was made atKB and at many academic libraries.The aim of this master thesis is to examine and analysethe library sector?s discussion that occurred before andduring the Swedish switch from SAB to DDC. The mainquestion asked is; What is being discussed about Dewey2010-2011 and in what manner? To organize and anlysethis discussion discourse analysis is used.

Grönstrukturen är en av de övergripande strukturerna i vårt samhälle tillsammans med bebyggelsestruktur och infrastruktur. Alla olika funktioner som grönstrukturen har kan i sin tur delas in i tre övergripande grupper med: sociala, ekologiska och kulturella funktionsvärden. Det är ofta så att de sociala och kulturella värdena inte får lika stor tyngd vid beslutsfattande. Då är de främst de ekologiska funktionerna som går före eftersom den befintliga naturen har t.ex. skyddsvärda arter. Det finns olika sätt att planera ett områdes grönstruktur som saknar befintlig grönska: Patrik Grahns åtta parkkaraktärer tillsammans med typaktiviteterna med sina tydliga inriktningar och konkreta innehåll kan ligga till grund för och inspirera till nya parker och grönområden.

Arbetet för ett mer jämställt samhälle, och hur detta kan uppnås genom den fysiska planeringen, är högst intressant och ett ständigt aktuellt ämne att debattera. Det har tidigare påvisats att behandlingen av jämställdhet i den kommunala översiktsplanen är milt uttryckt, otillfredsställande. Frågan är om det fortfarande finns tendenser att arbetet för ett ökat jämställt samhälle inte behandlas på ett tillfredsställande sätt i den översiktliga planeringen, eller om detta är något kommunerna i landet har ändrat på? Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är inte att explicit svara på dessa ovanstående frågor, utan ligger i att finna ett antal ?analysverktyg? för att undersöka hur ett urval av översiktsplaner behandlar jämställdhet. Kunskap om genus och människors vardagsliv är viktiga aspekter i arbetet mot ett ökat jämställt samhälle. Det är därför begreppen jämställdhet, vardagslivsperspektiv och genus som kommer genomsyra analysen av de utvalda översiktsplanerna. Analysdelen behandlar översiktsplanerna var och en genom kortare beskrivningar över hur respektive kommun resonerar i olika frågor, och en analys utifrån en jämställdhetsaspekt belyser avsiktliga eller oavsiktliga konsekvenser av detta. Avslutningsvis kommer arbetets frågeställning besvaras och en diskussion föras kring huruvida behandlingen av jämställdhet i de kommunala översiktsplanerna kan anses vara bra eller inte utifrån det forskningsunderlag som studerats..

The purpose of this study is to propose and formulate quantitative indicators to help measure an aspect of the Environmental Objectives in Swedish legislation: ?A Good Built Environment, Interim Target 2.? The governmental bill 2004/05:150 suggests changes to Interim Target 2: By 2010 built environments of cultural heritage value will be identified and placed under long-term sustainable management. Following the revised formulation regarding sustainable management, indicators should be formulated to measure the fulfilment of sustainable management of built environments of cultural heritage value. An important part of management takes place at the municipal level of Planning, where detailed development plans include regulations to protect built environments of substantial cultural heritage value. As a result, this study is focusing upon the regulatory function of the Swedish Planning and Building Act in respect to the built environments of cultural heritage value.

In Sweden whenever trains or maintenance workers want access to the railway system, their requests of usage and movements are being supervised, granted and handled by train dispatchers. The profession holds a key role in making the complex railway system work in terms of efficiency, safety and delivering on-time arrivals. This master thesis, delegated by the Swedish Transport Administration, has been carried out at the Division of Human Computer Interaction at Uppsala University and at the train traffic control center in Gävle. The aim has been to map what information the train dispatchers use in order to make safety-related decisions concerning their working goals. And further to describe and analyze how the train dispatchers, visavi their tools and systems in the work domain, gather necessary information.The result indicates a complex, diverse and spread out setting of different programs, procedures and tools that make satisfactory fulfilment of efficiency, safety and punctuality in relation to the time table hard.

Syftet med arbetet är att studera och analysera det offentliga rummet, hur möten mellan människor uppstår och vad rummet används till. Kandidatarbetet belyser begreppet offentligt rum och vad detta har inneburit och vad det innebär i nutid. Arbetet belyser även teorier om vad ett offentligt rum innehåller för aktiviteter och vad rummet bör innehålla för att locka till sig människor. Arbetet resulterar i ett gestaltningsprogram för Deltavägen på Backaplan i Göteborg, där fokus ligger på strukturen av gaturummet och de offentliga ytorna längs gatan. Arbetet baseras på litteraturstudier samt inventeringar av två gator och dess offentliga platser i Göteborg. Arbetet inleds med en beskrivning av det offentliga rummet och dess innebörd.

The NIPF (Non Industrial Private Forest) owners in Sweden have very differentiated goals and needs with their forest. They have different backgrounds and some of them live at their forest estate while other live in an urban environment, and some are economically dependent on their forest estate while others are not. The heterogeneity among these forest owners creates problems for market actors that want to aim marketing messages to catch their interest. This is the problem background to the task that was provided to us as an investigative masters thesis for us. Their request was a plan for ensuring a successful marketing towards different segments of the NIPF owners. We commenced with a literature study based on market information and previously carried out similar investigations. We summarized the most important market information from the literature and created some hypotheses regarding goals and needs of the NIPF owners.

District heating covers around 80 % of the heating demand in apartment buildings and 10 % in single-family homes in Sweden. In the year 2010 the total input of energy to the Swedish district heating grids was about 70 TWh, which corresponds to 11 % of the total energy input to the whole energy system in the country. Through the combined production of heat and power the CHP-plants often reaches an efficiency of 90 % from energy in the fuel to produced heat and power. In order to keep the efficiency high it is important for the owners of the plant to have good knowledge about the plants performance at different operation points. Strängnäs Energi AB initiated this diploma work together with FVB Sverige ab in order to come up with a program for short term Planning of the production of heat and power at the company´s CHP-plant.The work consists of three main parts.

Detta examensarbete tar upp viss problematik kring externhandel. Det belyser även hur ett externt handelsområde kan bli ett fungerande komplement till stadskärnan när den inte har möjligheter till att växa sig till det som dagens invånare kräver och förväntar sig att den ska innehålla. Handeln har i alla tider varit en av stadens viktgaste funktioner som gett staden liv och gjort den attraktiv. Under 1960-talet började stormarknader etableras i perifera lägen utanför staden.Konkurrensmedlet som användes var stor säljyta och voym. Butikerna sålde inte längre enbart livsmedel - stormarknaden var här. Stormarknaderna och varuhusen etablerade sig i billigare lokaler utanför staden, i äldre industriområden, i bilorienterade lägen. Överskådligheten har gått förlorad i de svenska städerna till följd av bilens genomslag. Idag fi nns det tre områden som kan pekas ut i staden, bostads-, industri- och serviceområden.

Rapid urbanization causes competition over land use between green area preservation and urban development in cities and greatly affects ecosystems as well as human well-being. This conflict is significant all around the world as many cities are now replacing existing green areas with new developments. The area around Dag Hammarskjöld's väg in Uppsala is currently experiencing the same conflict, as the need that the city has for new housing represents a threat for the many valuable green areas that are in the site. The purpose of this project was to understand how the need of urban development and the preservation of green areas could be balanced. This understanding would thereafter be used to make a design proposal for the area around Dag Hammarskjöld's väg.
