Sammanfattning: Över hälften av alla svenska kommuner hade en total stagnation under åren 1999-2009, det är främst bruksorter och landsbygden som stagnerar. I östra Tyskland stagnerade över hälften av städerna med mer än -3 % under åren 1990-2005. De gamla industristäderna i USA har under lång tid haft stora problem med förortsurbanisering. Därför har jag valt i detta kandidatarbete att studera varför städer i dess länder stagnerar, hur de ser på stagnationen och vad de gör åt den. I USA började städer som Detroit och Youngstown stagnera i samband med att industrier lades ner och en förortsurbanisering spred sig i landet.

This report considers how the design and planning of the city can influence and promote a sustainable development focused on the social dimension. My prior intention was to look in to how a landscape architect can work with social matters of sustainability such as integration, equality, safety and so on. Which are our most successful tools and capabilities? I started to work with the historical background in September 2008 and soon discovered the multitude of theories and definitions of sustainable development, international, national and local. In Sweden the local political level has been given a lot of responsibilities to achieve a more sustainable society.

This project is the result of a cooperation between HalmstadUniversity and EABAB. The aim of the project was to create a macro that would help EABAB automate the process of designing steel trusses. When run in Microsoft Excel, the macro imports and processes coordinates from a calculator program. The data is then imported into the Building Information Modelling software Tekla Structures, which creates a 3D structural model of the steel truss.The macro saves much time in the project planning process and also helps minimize the risk of design flaws caused by human error. .

Förslag till nytt operahus som en del av den planerade staden på Årstafältet, Stockholm. Projektet rymmer tre scener för opera, musik och teater och omfattande publika ytor. Operahuset är en del i det publika stråk som förbinder stadens kommunikationer med Årstafältets grönområden och blir en knutpunkt som också informerar och attraherar till kulturen. Projektets viktigaste utgångspunkt är att berätta både de operaanställdas och publikens berättelse. Detta görs i projektets två huvudsakliga sektioner..

Många klimatforskare i världen är överens om att en klimatförändring är på väg. I Sverige kan vi vänta oss ett varmare och mer nederbördsrikt klimat. Det varmare klimatet medför bland annat att havs- och landisar smälter vilket bidrar till att havsnivån höjs. Exempel på konsekvenser av det förändrade klimatet är översvämning och erosion. I framtiden anses effekterna inträffa allt oftare framförallt i kustområden.

Vilka föreställningar finns det om kulturarv? Syftet med detta arbete att undersöka vilken plats frågor om kulturarv intar i den kommunala planeringen samt hur kulturarvsfrågor hanteras i planeringen. Syftet är även att öka förståelsen för de konflikter som kan uppstå kring kulturarv och föreställningarna om detta i planeringen. Arbetet består av en empirisk undersökning av två fallstudier. De båda fallstudierna ligger sedan till grund för en jämförelse mellan två detaljplaner, Kvarteret Axel och Stadsmarinan från Karlskrona kommun, Blekinge län. Båda har hanterat kulturarvsfrågor i planprocessen.

To describe your profession can sometimes be hard. Everyone knows what a music teacher is and what her work includes. But what about a eurhythmic teacher - who knows what she does? By experience my answer is: not many. Inthis essay I have outlined differences in method and lecture planning between a eurhythmic and a music teacher, to be able to find out the answer to my research question - what a eurhythmic teacher can contribute to the school subject music.I chose an observation research where I observed a mixed class with children from fourth and fifth grade.

This study is based on the development of a new software, which is used as a recommendationtool for selecting the best product. As part of the software development has an external partnerbeen asked to assist.  Saab Microwave Systems (SMW) is a business unit within Saab AB that manufactures and develops different types of radar- and sensor systems for naval, airborne and ground based forces as well as within the market for civil security. In addition to the manufacturing of radar and sensor systems they also provide different types of service concepts. The business unit has 50 years of experience within the area of developing radar systems and is considered to be one of the market leaders. When applying an assemble-to-order production strategy with products at this level of cost price the product lead-time is vital and becomes an important part of the strategy within marketing and sales. Within SMW there is a new department called Supply Management (SM) that provides the supply of incoming and outgoing material. Within SM there are four sub-departments working with activities such as planning, purchasing, receiving inspection, storage and distribution.

Malmö Kommunala Bostadsbolag Fastighets AB owns and administrates Örtagården housing estate in Rosengård which is a characteristic million programme housing area. Örtagården is densely populated which naturally creates an environment that is exposed to wear and tear. The area is today undergoing a change where new proposals and strategies are to be designed for further development of the inner yards. MKB also wishes to develop the park area which is centrally situated in Örtagården. The purpose of this study was to make an analysis of the development of Örtagårdsparken from when it was planned and constructed up until the state it is in today.

The study aims to investigate the impact of industrialised homebuilding in the creation of the aestheticproperties of the dwelling architecture.The concepts of industrialised homebuilding and the aesthetic properties of the dwelling architecture aredefined by previously developed models. In these models, industrialised homebuilding is described byeight characteristic areas. The aesthetic properties of the dwelling architecture are described by sevenaesthetic qualities.The study was conducted as a qualitative study, and in-depth interviews were conducted. The companyJM AB is the analysed unit that the author of this report has chosen to study. JM employees and by JMhiredarchitects were interviewed.The report concludes that characteristic area planning and control of processes are considered to havepositive impact on the aesthetic qualities if the process is designed in such a way that the creations ofthese are admitted.

The project group is participating in a measuring project that is a cooperation between CIT EnergyManagement AB, the Measuring unit of Chalmers and College of Dalarna.The results from the measurementswill be put together and presented in a brochure.When designing the brochure a great deal of planning has been made how to attract the targetgroup.To make the contents of the brochure more attractive, which mainly will contain text, a lot of imageswith a symbolic substance have been used. To keep the brochure together it has been divided into fivechapters that each has been given one specific colour. The colours are consistent on initials, headlinesand images.At the moment the results of the measurements are not yet ready and the text for the brochure is notpossible to complete now. This project is expected to finish in the fall when all the measurements havebeen compiled..

This thesis is an evaluation of the new traffic solution at ?Skvallertorget?. The innovative theory behind it is to increase traffic-safety by introducing insecurity feelings for road-users. The conclusion of the evaluation is that the newtraffic solution is well adjusted according to guidelines for municipal traffic planning. The evaluation also illustrates the conflict between traffic planners deliberate attempt to avoid clear information and the road users wish to get it.

District heating covers around 80 % of the heating demand in apartment buildings and 10 % in single-family homes in Sweden. In the year 2010 the total input of energy to the Swedish district heating grids was about 70 TWh, which corresponds to 11 % of the total energy input to the whole energy system in the country. Through the combined production of heat and power the CHP-plants often reaches an efficiency of 90 % from energy in the fuel to produced heat and power. In order to keep the efficiency high it is important for the owners of the plant to have good knowledge about the plants performance at different operation points. Strängnäs Energi AB initiated this diploma work together with FVB Sverige ab in order to come up with a program for short term planning of the production of heat and power at the company´s CHP-plant.The work consists of three main parts.

Detta examensarbete är skrivet på tyska och behandlar Deutsche Bahn AG:s (det tyska järnvägsaktiebolaget) planer på att förlägga järnvägsstationen Hamburg-Altona, till ett industriområde 2 km norr om det läge den har idag. Enligt dessa planer ska dagens säckstation ersättas av en genomfartsstation, där tunnelbanestationen Diebsteich idag ligger. Den centrala frågeställningen för examens­arbetet är: Vilken påverkan har en ny järnvägsstation på sin omgivning? Rent konkret står platsen för Altonas nya järnvägsstation i fokus och möjligheterna för en ny strukturell utveckling av dess närområde. Arbetet bygger på teorier av Prof. Luca Bertolini, som menar att potentialen för ett utvecklings­projekt kring en järnvägsstation be­ror på förhållandet mellan stationen som trafikknutpunkt och stationen som plats.
