?... eftersom det brukar vara lättare att lyssna på lärare än boken? : Elevers och lärares tankar om den interaktiva skrivtavlan i matematikundervisningen

The purpose of this study was to explore students' and teachers' experiences of the new pedagogical teaching tool, interactive whiteboard, which have gained increased popularity and wide spread usage in the classrooms. An observation during a mathematical lecture was conducted as a pilot study prior to the main research method of Phenomenology; based on students? self-descriptions and interviews with two teachers, this methodological approach was used to investigate the subject matter. The interpretation, comparison and analysis of the results surrounding this new teaching method is explained by two theories, constructivism and socio-cultural perspective. The information shared by the students and teachers have been broken down into four categories: enjoyment & interest, practical, insight and no different.

Sjuksköterskan i mötet med anhöriga till patienter med stroke

WHO: s definition av stroke är snabbt insättande störningar av lokal eller global cerebral funktion varande mer än 24 timmar. Stroke räknas som en av våra största folksjukdomar. Årligen insjuknar ca 30 000 svenskar i stroke. Studiens syfte är att undersöka sjuksköterskans uppfattning och förståelse för anhörigasas situation. När ens make/maka plötsligt insjuknat i stroke förändras hela livssituationen.

Mångfaldens värde, sett ur sju högskoleledares perspektiv

Syftet med studien är att intervjua ledare och klarlägga deras åsikter: i) om hur de ser på mångfald, ii) hur de anser att organisationen de arbetar i ser på mångfald och iii) hur de själva ser på sin chefs-/ledarroll. Uppsatsen är genomförd i en kvalitativ metod utifrån en fenomenologisk ansats. Sju inter­vjuer av ledare i en statlig kunskapsorganisation har genomförts. Intervjuerna har varit ostrukture­rade och har utgått från temana: mångfald, ledarskap och organisation. Resultatet visar ett ledarskap som främst ser mångfald utifrån kön men även i viss mån ålder och etnicitet.

Bland världsmedborgare och vita världar : en studie av relationen mellan vithet och solidaritet i fyra kvinnors berättelser om sitt arbete med immigranter

The aim of this essay is to examine the ambivalence that I consider work of solidarity carried out from majority position to be associated with, and whether it makes sense to understand the relationship between majorities and minorities involved in this work by using the concepts of race and whiteness. Through Ruth Frankenbergs work on white women and race I consider whiteness to be a racialized position, and through Sara Ahmeds Phenomenology of whiteness, which describes racialization as made through the orientation of bodies, I investigate how this racialized position is shaped and maintained by the solidarity work. The study is based on qualitative interviews with four White women engaged in two organizations that works on integration of female immigrants through creating jobs in a cooperative and through educating in national and familial democracy. The work of solidarity told of by the interviewees seems to produce racialized notions about immigrated people of color, which acts as a counterpart to the whiteness that the interviewees themselves possess. At the same time, the work also challenge this binary division, especially by incorporating the non-white women in what in this essay is called "the white world"..

Specialpedagogens vardag : vision och verklighet

In this essay I follow the traditions of the continental didactics and use Phenomenology and hermeneutics to examine how I, as a Special Educational Needs teacher, can develop my skills in making teachers adopt a more inclusive approach. The teachers and I have often got different agendas; I seek to change the teaching in order to fit the students, whereas the teachers wish for me to help the students manage the prevailing teaching practice. Traditionally this has been a task for the remedial teachers. In Sweden there is a difference, however a lack of clarity formally as well as practically, in the definition of these two professions, which indeed makes my assignment ever so challenging. One of the tools I have often applied is to plan and teach together with the teachers, to function as a role model.

Individanpassad undervisning : Lärares upplevelser av att anpassa undervisningen efter elverna förutsättningar och behov

Läroplanen (Skolverket, 2011) och Skollagen (SFS 2010:800) anger att undervisningen ska individanpassas. Skolinspektionen (2011) fastställer att det finns brister i hur skolorna bedriver en sådan undervisning och även min erfarenhet var att detta inbegrep en del utmaningar. Med detta som bakgrund blev studiens syfte att beskriva, tolka och förstå innebörden i lärares upplevelser av att individanpassa den egna undervisningen samt eventuella relaterade utmaningar. För att undersöka detta användes en kvalitativ metod med intervjuer som datainsamlingsteknik, där fem verksamma lärare intervjuades. En hermeneutiskt-fenomenologisk ansats användes som utgångspunkt.Resultatet visade att individanpassa undervisningen inte är lätt att göra, då det är mycket upp till läraren att själv tolka och bedriva undervisningen med de svårigheter det innebär.

Att bli jämngammal med sin mamma : Unga kvinnors upplevelser av bröstcancerbehandling

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva unga kvinnors upplevelser av förtidig menopausefter cytostatika- och/eller hormonbehandling. Ett ytterligare syfte var att beskriva hursexualiteten upplevdes efter dessa behandlingar. Undersökningen genomfördes i två etapper med fenomenologisk metod. Öppna individuella intervjuer valdes i delstudie 1. I delstudie 2 användes fokusgrupp.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how same-sex couples experience the second-parent adoption process. To assist us, we have used our questions: how do the couples describe their experiences of the adoption process? Which are the couples? stories about the experience of contact with the involved professionals? What are the opportunities and barriers for same-sex couples to start a family? How do the couples describe their experience of reactions from the community and society, and how do they think the future will look like for same-sex couples? This study has been achieved through a qualitative approach. The empirical data is based on seven semi-structured interviews with same-sex couples or pair members that want to or have had a second-parent adoption. The theory we have used for analyzing the results is Phenomenology with focus on queer theory, heteronormativity, and power.

Mål i skolans praktik. Lärares uppfattningar av och arbete med läroplanens mål om elevers ansvar och inflytande

I rapporten redovisas en undersökning av hur den svenska nationella läroplanen i grundskolan blir till den genomförda läroplanen i en skolas undervisning/praktik. Frågeställningarna gäller lärares uppfattningar av och skolans arbetssätt för att genomföra målen om elevers ansvar och inflytande. Undersökningen är en fallstudie. Dataunderlaget kommer från intervjuer med lärare och skolans dokumentation. Detta har analyserats med tillämpning av kvalitativ metod.

Lyssna! Sex vuxna individers upplevelser av att berätta om de sexuella övergrepp de har utsatts för i sin barndom.

The aim of this qualitative study was to examine six individuals' experiences to talk about the sexual abuse that occurred in their childhood. We interviewed five women and one man, using a phenomenological approach during the work process. The theories emerged as we analyzed our results and appeared to be communication, cognitive theory, validation, trauma theory and taboo. The results showed that the respondents, whom disclosed the abuse as children, were most likely to get a negative response from both formal and informal support systems. While as adults they were confirmed to a greater extent and therefore achieved a better physical and mental wellbeing.

Jakten på genius loci : att förstå och finna platsens själ

Denna uppsats handlar om genius loci. Utgångspunkten har varit en tes om att det är ett begrepp som vi landskapsarkitekter intuitivt förstår och påverkas av men skulle ha nytta av att konkretisera. Målet är att hitta fram till möjliga svar på dessa frågor:Hur kan landskapsarkitekten tolka begreppet genius loci?Hur kan landskapsarkitekten arbeta i praktiken för att finna en plats genius?Genom att undersöka begreppet genius loci utifrån både ett teoretiskt och ett praktiskt perspektiv hoppas jag kunna skapa en ökad förståelse för hur och varför vi landskapsarkitekter kan använda det. Genom studier av bland annat Christian Norberg-Schulz verk Genius loci: towards a Phenomenology of architecture samt intervjuer och reflektioner över min egen praktik har jag kommit fram till att tesen stämmer.

This essay is a work on Mircea Eliades's interpretation of the religious human understood as "homo religiosus" and the role of the shaman from the Eliade perspective. In Eliade human existence consists of a dichotomy between the sacred and the profane. The question is whether one can understand the concept of Eliades ?axis mundi?, center of the universe? Can we create an understanding of human existence with Eliade? Can one use  Phenomenology of religion as perspective for the exploration of ?reality?? Furthermore, this paper aims to understand the role of the shaman has religious worldviews. Shamaism  is through an ecstatic technique traveling to other cosmic plane, in order to gain knowledge that would otherwise not be reached.

Since the dawn of mankind, it has been considered that music has had a clear function about how individuals grasp their inner emotions to reach the transcendent and comprehend "Self". The aim of this thesis is to gain greater understanding as to how a group of young catechists in the Swedish Lutheran Church feel, interpret and construct their identities through popular music. An exploration as to how this specific group perceives concepts such as the Bible, church, spirituality, and religion was undertaken. The theory forming the basis of this essay is derived from a sociological perspective of postmodernism.

AbstractBackgroundWorking in primary care with chronic leg ulcers is both time-consuming and difficult. There is a large category of patients with leg ulcers, that is expected to increase in a number of years, and many of them will probably come to a district nurse for help.AimThe aim of this study was to describe the district nurses' experiences of caring for patients with chronic leg ulcers in primary care.MethodThe approach was qualitative. The study was done with a phenomenological life-world approach. Seven district nurses working in primary care were interviewed. The phenomenological perspective focuses on the respondents? own life-world and has openness to the interviewee's own experiences.
