This thesis processes the work of developing CPU code and GPU code for Thomas Kaijsers algorithm for calculating the kantorovich distance and the performance between the two is compared. Initially there is a rundown of the algorithm which calculates the kantorovich distance between two images. Thereafter we go through the CPU implementation followed by GPGPU written in CUDA. Then the results are presented. Lastly, an analysis about the results and a discussion with possible improvements is presented for possible future applications..

A Swedish electronics company wants to make the cooling of one of their electronic components more efficient. They propose that a retrofit liquid cooler is the way to achieve this goal. The current air cooling has high energy cost due to the high amount of power needed to power fans and heat exchangers. Using high volumes of air for cooling also leads to noise pollution. The conversion from air to liquid cooling would possibly make the operation of the electronics more cost efficient and less noisy.The purpose of this project is to theoretically evaluate different concepts of drawing the heat generated by the electronic component in to a fluid, using numerical calculations in Matlab and FEM simulations in ANSYS.

Laws, regulations and generally accepted accounting principles hold options on how companies should recognize revenue. Generally accepted accounting principles are determined by standard-setting bodies as the Accounting Standards Board and the Financial Supervisory Authority, which is influenced by international standard-setting bodies as the IASB. Service revenue is generally recognized when performance is completed, but there are variations in when a performance is considered complete. The different accounting options available create difficulties in comparing companies over time and between companies, which in turn creates difficulties to achieve a true and fair view. By clarifying what methods and principles in accounting for service income the unlisted companies in Sweden are using and why these differences exist, we have been able to study how the comparability and the true and fair view is affected by these differences.

Scana-Booforge is a Swedish company which specialize in heat treatment of various metal. The treatments take place in quenching ovens, where fans are used to circulate the hot air. The fans used today do not have a satisfactory lifespan. This thesis aims to develop a new design of the fans for the quenching ovens, and the goal is that the new fans will bring cost savings for Scana-Booforge.The design development process started with mapping out the environment in which the fans operate, and with analysis of the existing fan structure and damages, in order to establish the cause of failure and of short durability. The performance of the fan were also established at this stage.

AimThe aim of the present study was to evaluate physical performance according to ?fysprofilen? in skiers of the Swedish mogul ski team and to compare their physical performance at three test occasions during one year.MethodsAll eight elite mogul skiers at the Swedish national mogul ski team during the seasons 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 participated voluntarily in this study. The test battery ?fysprofilen? was performed at three test occasions, October 2011, May 2012 and October 2012. Muscle strength was evaluated with squats, bench press and grip strength; power was evaluated with power clean, squat jump, countermovement jump with and without arm swing, Harre´s test and the 30 meters sprint.

Den uttrycker sig i nya medier som installation, video och fotografi och utgörett fält som är i ständig förändring. I huvudsak tematiserar samtidskonsten vardagslivet ochindividens livsbetingelser samtidigt som den är upptagen med att undersöka fältetsmöjligheter och upplåter ett rum för reflektion.

Robotic milking in Automatic Milking systems (AMS) is proposed to reduce manual labour and at the same time increase milk yield by increasing milking frequency. In order to increase milking frequency, it is essential to have well-functioning cow traffic. Investing in an AMS is a great capital investment for the farmer, thus it is of major importance to ensure maximal AMS capacity. This study investigated the effect of the traffic systems Feed First? and Free cow traffic with and without waiting area (WA) on cow performance and AMS capacity.

Mitt syfte med denna uppsats har varit att enligt min frågeställning undersöka om i vad mån och på vilket sätt det går att se rationella respektive irrationella, i form av andliga, förhållningssätt till arkitektur- och konstskapande hos Le Corbusier, Bauhaus och De Stijl, och i så fall utifrån vilka bakomliggande idéer hos dessa, samt vilka eventuella likheter och/eller skillnader mellan Le Corbusier, Bauhaus och De Stijl det går att se gällande deras rationella respektive irrationella, i form av andliga, förhållningssätt till arkitektur- och konstskapande. Gällande definitionen av det irrationella i form av det andliga, har jag utgått ifrån fyra olika former av andlighet; känslomässig, transcendent, religiös samt ockult.Utifrån mitt syfte och min frågeställning har jag som undersökningsmaterial valt ut delar av ett antal, specifika litterära verk, såväl originalverk av de undersökta konstnärerna och arkitekterna själva, som verk, konstvetenskapliga, sociologiska och idéhistoriska litteraturverk, utgörandes den tidigare forskningen som jag har återfunnit inom området, om dessa av andra författare och forskare. Utifrån dessa litterära verk har jag analyserat och diskuterat Le Corbusiers, Bauhaus och De Stijls bakomliggande idéer kring och förhållningssätt till sin konst och arkitektur i och med perspektiv av rationalitet och irrationalitet i form av andlighet . Detta undersökningsmaterial har jag enligt metoden litteraturanalys och sammanställning av litteraturkällor vidare tolkat, analyserat, kritiskt granskat, refererat och till en helhet jämfört och sammanställt.Det analysresultat som jag med min undersökning har kommit fram till är att det hos såväl Le Corbusier som hos Bauhaus och De Stijl går att finna liknande enhetliga och genomgående perspektiv av rationalitet i form av maskinestetik, geometri och monokrom färgsättning; detta samtidigt som det hos alla tre, i form av en större diversifiering dem emellan jämfört med de rationella perspektiven, går att finna irrationella perspektiv i olika former av andlighet. Hos Le Corbusier har jag funnit perspektiv av religiös, ockult och känslomässig andlighet, hos Bauhaus perspektiv av känslomässig, ockult och transcendent andlighet, samt hos De Stijl perspektiv av transcendent och ockult andlighet..

Förmågan att prestera under akut eller kraftig stress är en förutsättning för en del yrken. Forskningsresultaten gällande hur stress påverkar prestation pekar åt olika håll. Denna studie undersökte sambandet mellan fysiologisk arousal och kognitiv problemlösningsförmåga under stress. Trettiotvå polisstudenter testades på Ravens test av flytande intelligens APM set II både före och efter att antingen ha sprungit i tjugo minuter eller haft en självskyddslektion på ca fyrtio minuter. Resultaten från en mixed ANOVA för beroende mätningar visade på en signifikant interaktionseffekt (F (30) = 6,547, p < 0,05) ? en ökning i prestationen hos självskyddsgruppen med arton procent och en minskning med femton procent hos löpningsgruppen.
