Under de senaste två decennierna har flertalet tidningar bytt format. Det stora broadsheetformatet byts ut mot det mindre tabloidformatet. Ett steg många valt att ta då upplagesiffrorna under flera år dalat. Formatförändringen är tänkt att ge rum för ett nytänkande, ändra förutsättningarna för tidningsmakarna och förhoppningsvis locka nya läsare.I denna uppsats har Svenska Dagbladets och Dagens Nyheters inrikessidor studerats för att finna eventuella likheter eller skillnader av tabloidiseringens effekter för dessa två tidningar.Det som studerats är andelen redaktionellt material av totala satsytan i respektive tidning fyra dagar före och efter formatbytet. Även antalet nyheter på inrikessidorna under perioden har räknats.

The purpose of this work is to investigate collaboration between journalists and librarians.These two groups meet in the archives of the modern newspapers.The theoretical part deals with the functions which society has given journalism and the libraries. A comparison is made between the two groups and the author notes resemblance anddifferences.The practical part is an investigation of some journalists at Boras Tidning, a Swedish newspaper. They have answered questions about their usage of the archive which has an educatedlibrarian. As this has not been the case for more than four years, the work of the journalists haschanged in different ways. Advantages and disadvantages are presented..

This two years master?s thesis consists of a domain analysis on the local Swedish newspaper Gefle Dagblad (GD). The domain analysis was developed by the Danish library and information scientist Birger Hjørland. The purpose of this theory is to understand the information behavior of individuals by studying the social and collec-tive context which surrounds this person. According to Hjørland, four different areas need to be studied in order to analyze a domain.

Visual Type Instrument - VTI, is a tool containing a typeface and a set of geometric calculations that generates numerical data in spreadsheets. The data is determined from the typefaces visual dimensions and is used to calculate leading, type size, margins and format. The aim is to offer, for all of those working with typography and design, a practical way to manage text, image and format in relationship to visual size. This paper addresses the role of homework within the home and school environments using a qualitatively approach inspired by discourse analysis method and theory. The paper considers three newspaper articles to identify current attitudes and understanding regarding homework?s role. The paper?s structure brings results and analysis together allowing the discussion to be continuously extended and deepened.

The aim of thismaster thesis was to investigate the possibilities of entering the market for portable devices.

 This paper is about the conflict between the Middle East and the Western world after the Danish newspapers? cartoon publications of the prophet Muhammed in October 2005. The conflict resulted in massive reactions in the Middle East and the Danish-Swedish dairy company Arla Foods, was boycotted during six months in 2006. The aim of this study is to describe how the biggest Swedish daily newspaper,Dagens Nyheter and three Saudiarabic newspapers Al-Hayat, Al-Watan and Shark Al-Awsat described "the Other" during the crisis in the year of 2006. Another aim is to describe how Arla Foods managed the consumer boycott.
