Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur djur, med fokus på hundar, används som hjälpmedel i behandlingsarbete samt vilka effekter användningen av hundar anses ha. Vi fördjupade oss i de metoder som finns med djur som hjälpmedel samt studerade ett exempel på ett behandlingshem där hundar används i vård- och terapisyfte. Genom en litteraturstudie och en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning har vi fått svar på följande frågeställningar: Hur kan hundar användas som hjälpmedel i behandlingsarbete och vilka arbetsmetoder finns? Vilka fysiska och psykiska effekter kan användningen av hundar som ett hjälpmedel i vård- och terapisyfte ha? Vad gör en hund till en bra vård- och terapihund? Hur används hundar på en missbruksinstitution för äldre män? Resultatet pekar på att hundar kan användas i vård- och terapisyfte genom användning av de metoder som finns, det vill säga Animal-Assisted Activity, Animal-Assisted Therapy samt Animal-Assisted Therapy in Counseling. Vad som gör en hund till en bra vård- och terapihund är att den tränas på adekvat sätt, har ett bra temperament samt har en hundförare som ser till klientens och hundens bästa.

Background: The prevalence of dementia increases both in Sweden and in the rest of the world. People with dementia often display some types of behavioral and psychological symptoms. These symptoms include, among other things, aggressiveness, inactivity, activity disturbance, anxiety, hallucinations and depression. The symptoms can create a negative impact of those with dementia, their caregivers and their next of kin. Aim: To describe the effect of non-pharmacological treatments have on the behavioral and psychological symptoms of people with dementia.

Graviditetsrelaterad bäckensmärta är ett internationellt problem och drabbar en femtedel av alla gravida kvinnor med dysfunktion och sänkt uthållighet i vardagliga aktiviteter som följd. 7% har kvarvarande besvär postpartum. Idag finns ingen standardiserad undersökning eller behandling inom området. Syftet var att göra en systematisk litteraturöversikt för att sammanställa vilken eller vilka behandlingar som finns för graviditetsrelaterad bäckensmärta under och efter graviditet och vilken eller vilka av dessa som har effekt i form av minskad smärta och ökad fysisk funktion. In this essay I have studied how the kid?s school start are described in picture books. The studied questions are: How the school is described in these selected picture books; what feeling does the main character have into the school start; how the teachers are described in this selected picture books and how are the power relationship described in these selected picture books?The method I have chosen for this essay is a discourse analysis of seven selected picture books with the meaning of starting school. All books studied are written during the 1990 and forward.

Patients with mental illness experience dissatisfaction with their care due to lack of understanding and ignorance from the nurses. The nurses? approach might influence these patients' experience of their care. The purpose of the literature review was to describe nurses' approach in care of patients with mental illness. The literature review is based on an inductive approach and the result is based on 14 scientific papers, of which eight used a qualitative design and sex used a quantitative design.

Bronchiolitis is a common performance decreasing disease in horses (Bracher et al, 1991¸Dixon et al, 1995) Its medical treatment includes inhalation therapy with corticosteroids and b2-adrenoceptorer stimulators. Use of both these medicines is prohibited for sport horses and athletes. Because the facemasks used for inhalation therapy are not airtight, there is a risk for leakage of these medicines. We wanted to see if cross exposure of nearby horses can result during normal recommended treatment of a horse, and assess if this could result in doping positive urine sample from the person treating the horse and from horses in the same airspace. We did a pilot study with four healthy horses. The experiment was divided into four parts.

Studien byg- ger pa? tre musikterapisessioner arrangerade speciellt fo?r studien och intervjuer med de tre musikterapeuterna.

Honungens terapeutiska egenskaper utgör en grund för dess användning vid behandling av svårläkta sår vilket kan vara ett alternativ till andra konventionella metoder. Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka vetenskaplig litteratur för att belysa vilka effekter användning av honung kan ha i samband med svårläkta sår samt patienters tillfredställelse med behandlingen. En systematisk modell med sju steg användes som metod för denna studie. Litteratursökningen genomfördes i databaserna PubMed, CINAHL, Medline och Cochrane Library. Relevanta artiklar granskades med hjälp av protokoll modifierad av författarna.

The purpose of this study is to examine how women?s reading of the Harry Potter books can be understood on the basis of gender theory and reader-response criticism. The empirical data is gathered through qualitative interviews with six female Harry Potter readers between the age of 21 and 35, and is analyzed through several theories regarding gender and reading. The results show that the readers are critical towards many aspects of the books, especially when it comes to the stereotyped depiction of women and men. The books are said to reproduce the gender dichotomy, the gender hierarchy and the heteronormativity in society.

Many product launches are postponed today, however very little research regarding to customer responses to such events has been carried out. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how people react to a postponed product launch. An experimental study of responses to a postponed launch of a mobile phone, a mineral water and a music album is used to investigate customer reactions. The respondents exposed to the postponed launch showed a higher value of reactance. This reactance affects the attitude, purchase intention and perceived quality of the product in a negative way.

In Sweden, grass is the single largest crop grown. Nearly 1 000 000 Ha grows on the fields, this is primarily used as feed for livestock. To get a good seed, you need to handle the crop carefully from planting to delivery. The part that I have been interested in, is how to dry the harvested seed with out destroying the growth in the small seed. This is very easily done if you aren?t careful during the drying period.

ABSTRACTBackground: Most cases of lumbar disc herniation are asymptomatic. When symptomatic, LDH may cause a significant physical and mental distress. Initially, most patients are treated conservative but sometimes operations may be required.Aim: The aim of this study was to provide a review of the scientific basis of physiotherapy, including behavioural therapy, as a treatment to lumbar disc herniation regarding pain, function and the size of disc herniation in people suffering from lumbar disc herniation.Method: Four databases were used in the searches of literature. Assessment of the validity of the studies was done with the PEDro-scale and valuation of evidence rate was made according to guidelines made by the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU).Result: Nine RCT-studies were included with a total of 713 participants. The scientific basis is moderate to support a pain reduction and limited regarding improvement of physical function when it comes to physical exercises, including MDT.

In today?s individualistic society, I experience a need to bring forward the importance of collaboration. From a sociocultural perspective, I have chosen to highlight the positive and negative aspects of collaborative learning, with the intention of illustrating the effects for the individual learning and development. I have therefore made an interview with an educationalist, who?s been a teacher all her grown up life, with the intent of illustrating her thoughts on collaborative learning.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether cannabis use can affect cognitive functions. The method that was chosen to answer the purpose of the study was a general literature review. Article search occurred in the databases PsycINFO and PubMed. Nine articles were selected based on the study?s inclusion criteria.
